  1. What is racism nowadays anyway? I worked as part of the security team at an Ice Cube concert in Rockefellers Oslo Sentrum last night and was amazed at the amount of racist comments coming from the guys on stage. Must have used the N word on hundreds of occasions during the show and some of their songs were openly mocking the American Police and white people etc. They even had a big banner on the stage with the letters NWA on it. Not wanting to sound like a prude, but with artists like that being looked up to by todays youth, then it's no wonder attitudes are like they are. We even had to frisk everyone that came in to check they weren't bringing in weapons. Each to their own I suppose and I have to say that I'm not a fan of rap music, but there seems to be a lot of muddled messages being sent out to the youth of today about what is deemed acceptable and what isn't. Still think that most decent minded people know not to cross the line, but there are always a minority of idiots that push things too far. Personally I think that Racism was more easily defined many years ago. Nowadays I think incidents like this fall into the bullying and being disrespectful and insulting category.
  2. Would love to see it too if poss. Buy you a beer...
  3. Thanks a lot. Fingers crossed that it works?
  4. Does anyone know if the meeting tonight is being streamed live on the internet? Would be more than happy to pay for it if available outside the UK. Not sure why we can't subscribe to Sky online outside of UK?
  5. No worries, but I guess the AA/Michelin European maps will work too and in English. Just play around on Google. Try this - http://www.viamichelin.co.uk/viamichelin/g.../map/Sweden-map
  6. Try this link. Just checked it out and it appears that Malilla is approx 4 hours south of Stockholm and approx 3 hours East of Gothenburg. http://kartor.eniro.se/ Then click on Vägbeskrivning after you have typed your destination. You can then decide where you want to travel from.
  7. Hi Rabs. Seems Lars jnr is doing ok and hope he decides to have a go in the UK at some point. There are a few promising youngsters here and I guess the proof of how good they are would be if they could go head to head with some British youngsters. Would be nice to set up a couple of meetings, perhaps a short UK tour and maybe a fixture or two over here. Might alert the attentions of a few British Promoters anyway? The latest results and scores are on the link below: http://oslomk.no/article.asp?w=28093418&am...level2=28093239
  8. You may find this interesting Rabs... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_Iet3CLxiEg&...feature=related
  9. Just wanted to post a few links to sites in Norway for anyone who is interested. Poole fans will be interested in a new generation Gunnestad perhaps? http://www.oslomk.no/article.asp?w=2789036...level1=12445316 http://www.henrikbauer.no/1.htm http://www.motorsportforbundet.no/t2.asp
  10. I agree Subedei. Gonna be at either Reading or Smallmead.
  11. Tough luck on Andersen and the best reply for him would be to step up a further gear next season in the Elite League and show Benfield what they've missed out on. Hans is an entertaining rider, and imo, he should be in ahead of Iversen who is not in the same class. Overall I do like the balance of the GP Series, and there is a selection of fine riders involved that will further help BSI sell the series around Europe.
  12. I saw the thread title and thought they'd started next seasons KO Cup already.
  13. Could be a possibility seeing as you haven't got a number one for next season.
  14. Good post SwissPosition and absolutely on the button.
  15. I'm afraid that I don't agree with that at all. The Promoters need some input as they are the ones paying the Riders wages and risking many thousands of pounds in investment in their clubs. You forget that all rules are made for a reason and you can't say that any Promoter is going to intentionally harm his/her business. The basic rules of the sport have remained fairly consistent for many years and it is a matter of progression that changes and tweaks ocurr before the start of each season. Not everything works, granted, but people never moan about the positive changes that are made. Promoters aren't daft, and I'm sure that one or two of the changes from this year will be ammended or scrapped for next season. On the whole, I think that the BSPA and SCB make a pretty good fist of things and if Sky call the shots on various issues then so what! Speedway isn't perfect but then what sport is? and as Rabbit rightly says....a lot of Promoters etc do read this forum I'm sure, so any constructive comments addressed in a civilised and sensible manner may well be appreciated.
  16. Thought that was the best GP I've seen for consistently good racing. It had just about everything. I think I was in the majority,as I fully expected it to be a bit of a non event, but credit to all the riders for putting on such a great show. Will 6 points ever be enough to qualify for the semis again? Zagar doesn't look the world beater that everyone cracks him up to be, although at Elite League level He will be good value on a 5 something average. I can't see riders like Sully and Richardson being invited back next year. Great night's TV.
  17. I agree about Jason Crump. He is as good as TRick and in League racing is by far the most consistent rider. You just need the rub of the green along the way, and he could easily have had two or three titles now himself. Not taking anything away from Tony cos he's been awsome this year and deserves his title. Well done TRick.
  18. I'm not getting involved in this childish nonsense.
  19. I thought the Havvy/Rempala duel last year was awsome, but that Final race tonight eclipsed it by miles. Brilliant.
