Mildenhall 40th Anniversary Palmer Trophy 28th June
adz_mft replied to PhilK's topic in National League Speedway
Common thing? Behave yourself.i guess as you're a regular every week you'd know what it's like I don't really know what they could have done today.Absolutely chucked it down this morning.Add the rain to the fact we had stocks there last night aswell. It did resemble a ploughed field when I got to the track at 1,no denying that. They worked their backsides off to sort it.Once they had scraped the top off the track was absolutely fine.No problem at all. Next time we will order the rain for another time hey -
Owen can take an r/r ride Alex
-
I'm all for having more teams but you have to wonder where the riders are going to come from.Certainly isn't many riders going spare right now.Would guess an increase in points limit and a move to 6 man teams would have to be an option Got your wish.Eastbourne vs Mildenhall is now Saturday August 29th and not the 30th
-
What on earth are you on about lol
-
Yes!! Absolutely chuffed to bits with that.Lads rode a blinder to get a win. After losing so many points in the 1st few heats and then going behind they could have easily let their heads drop.To pick themselves up and to comeback against a really good Eastbourne side.Top effort. Both sets of riders put on a decent meeting. Not an incredible amount of passing but the racing was so close it didn't matter about that. The atmosphere around the stadium after heat 15 was brilliant.Love the buzz of a last heat decider. Was good to see both sets of fans walking away from the main stand talking to each other about the meeting. It's what speedway is about.Seeing a cracking meeting and no issues from either side. Man of the meeting though for me was Danny Halsey. His heat wins over Wilson-Dean were brilliant. That's the Danny we know.Especially in heat 15. Was very impressed with Wilson-Dean and Wood. Both have a big future.Hope the Eastbourne fans enjoyed their visit.Certainly loud enough haha See you in the return fixture

I've never seen us run out of fish or chips at Mildenhall so you'll be safe I hope lol
-
Steve.Viewing wise I'd say it's pretty even wherever you stand around the track.I've moved from bend to bend over the years but seem to have settled in the main stand now.If the weather is nice sit on the grass around 3/4 I'd say. 2 comments in 101 and we get a comment of "the fish and chips are awesome" told you so haha Going for a suffolk double over the weekend with both The Town and Tigers getting a win. I think Sunday will be close. We need to make the gate otherwise we will get beat.Looking forward to it though

Andrews never got a pick because generally in the years he has raced he hasn't really shown much.Has improved big time this season.Fair play to him

I swear we've had this convo before.Lol
-
No stocks this week.Just a STR meeting on Saturday
-
I've always thought you could run with them as long as they are in the top 3 scorers

Kingston is a massive loss for us.Really is too close to call.As you say.Hopefully the track won't take a battering today -
I don't understand why they have a semi final anyway.Should be based on averages Bullied lol.Behave.Richings wasn't bullied and afaik hasn't been disciplined. Mildenhall's track last season was decent.Much like Lynn's,but you do get the odd meeting where conditions are taken out of your hands.Like this meeting for us. Also for what it's worth.I don't remember the ref having a look at the track, other than the original track walk. I think Neil Vacher was there yesterday and appeared on the track a few times. If he had any concerns I'd imagine he'd have called the ref down to have a look and discussion?
-
Did I say it would make them feel better? It wasn't his decision to continue the meeting was it? Why didn't more riders take Richings stand and not ride? The track wasn't good but the club did the best they could.Stocks and poor weather caused the problems.Just a small thing to do by offering the programme. He doesn't have to do it.Wasn't his call to abandon the meeting I'm sure your club has a perfect track every week and there are never any problems
-
The track staff worked miracles to get the track how they did.As a club we did all we could do to get the meeting on.Ultimately it's down to the ref to call the meeting off.The amount of crap I got sent slagging off the club through twitter whilst updating was unbelievable. As has been said.Fair play to Kevin Jolly for coming out and apologising.PhilK posted on the clubs facebook page saying as a small gesture to the fans.A free programme will be given for Sundays meeting vs Kings Lynn.

Rye House Raiders V Mildenhall Saturday 7pm
adz_mft replied to Paul's topic in National League Speedway
Bloody hell.Cheer up.It was the 1st meeting of the season.Give the riders chance will you.Rye's reserves have hardly been riding a speedway bike, they'll only improve.Hume especially.Hunter wasn't supposed to be in the 1-7 originally.Too much difference in the standard of riders? The 4 reserves this was pretty much their 1st actual meeting.Ruddick has never seen the place for example. The falls and reruns were a typical sign of 1st meeting rustiness. You obviously went to Eastie on Sunday.Everything went perfect with the run through of the meeting.Believe me every week won't be perfect,it's near on impossible, especially at this level. The start of the meeting did take a while but once they got going they got the meeting done in good time. I don't take much notice of the standard in the 1st couple of meetings. Will always encounter problems. Keep on smiling Adz -

5 of us but I count as 2 people so best save 6 spaces -
The track was pretty tricky with bend 3 catching most out. From what I saw they were all taking it steady due to the track so was difficult to judge how quick they were going. Kingston stood out though as he looked to be attacking the track and looked quick.Coles didn't look as if he had been off the bike.Mountain looked as composed as last season. The reserves did look smooth.I think once the track is sorted they will all be fine.Ruddick looked a tidy rider. Can't wait to see him progress.
-
Cradley will win the league but after that is anyone's guess tbh.Very even looking teams with some young riders coming through. Will be interesting to see how they all get on. From a Mildenhall point of view I think we've a solid line up.Looking forward to seeing Coles and Mountain progress.Hopefully Coles can hit the ground running and give himself some confidence. Kingston is probably the fastest person I've seen around Mildenhall. If he has learnt the throttle goes the other way he is an absolute bargain on a sub 5.Will add at least 2/3 points to that.Especially in a watered down league. Haven't seen anything of Bacon and Ruddick other than p&p but you can't really judge them on that. Looking forward to another year following the lads.Whatever happens it's going to be a decent year
