I fear it will need to be 'kids in free' to get anything like a decent crowd this saturday. It's June tomorrow and the fat lady is starting to warm her tonsils. Bezza

As opposed to what you have seen already this year which is.......? Last year we had Tungate, Manzares and to lesser extent Heeps in our Top 5 who last year could neither gate or pass on our track - that's why we missed the play offs!

I believe a good part of the problem is since the track changes, its now easier to ride, a great deal safer BUT it offers no real home advantage and still remains challenging to overtake. In we are honest, many of the races are decided coming out of bend 2 (with the exception of true racers or mistakes made), therefore if the boys have their gating boots there's a good chance we will secure all 3pts.

Agree Macca, this season for whatever reason has not going for the witches septet. Lots of promise on paper has simply not delivered where it counts on track. You can point to the reserves as being one of the reasons but the remainder of the team are simply not performing to their ability which is costing us. Personally, I think the management now need to demonstrate to supporters that this will not be tolerated and make a change if only perhaps a riding order to start with. King should have his machinery sorted, we are now two months into the season. We need him to lead from the front. Sarj is far too inconsistent and yet with Coventry experience you would have though he should be approaching the premier league with more confidence. Kerr certainly looks quick enough when in front but after the first bend that's generally where he stays. A bit like tungate he seems to ride the same line / couple of feet of track every bend. He along with Sargent would be wise spending some time on track after the main meeting to get more familiar with their new surroundings. Risager steady enough for the second string berth BUT like Sarj and Kerr struggles when behind. Couldn't pass on Thursday when the winner was timed at 61 secs - simply not good enough. Covatti has been inconsistent this year and yet it is not particularly obvious why? Certainly he has found the foxhall track not quite to his liking this year. Paco is now starting to showing some fight which is appreciated by the foxhall crowd. Needs to aim for 5pts a meeting. Ritchings in all honesty is not yet able to bridge the gap from national league to premier and will cost us a few points each meeting. So enough of the PR and 'fortress foxhall' - give this 7 one last chance to show the crowd on Thursday they are capable of hitting 50+ points and that we are serious about winning the premier league this year.

Congrats to Rohan especially not having seen the track before. Then again bIg sweeping tracks suit Rohan, it's the smaller/technical tracks such as Ipswich et al where improvement is required and will ultimately determine how far he goes in the sport.

Certainly, one of the problems is passing judgement after 6 weeks of the season, however British Speedway could do with following other countries when it come to starting the season. Mid March is just far too early.... for everyone!.

2016 Speedway Gp Qualifiers
Bezza replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Quick Question: How many riders go through from each of the 4 rounds? I would assume either 7 or 8 depending Wild cards for semi's? Cheers Bezza -
I may go to this. Looking at the weather, do you think the meeting will go ahead? I assume Owlerton can take a bit of rain before being called off? Any views from South Yorkshire folk would be most appreciated. Cheers Bezza

I have just read Coventry will have priority on Danny King. I'm not sure exactly what impact this will have but it can't be ideal over the season. Do we simply have use of a guest facility up to his average when he is unavailable?

I won't knock the Louis's as more often than not they will track a competitive team. Its the riders who let the management down and yet most if you asked all have ambitions for riding elite. I'm sorry - but if you are delivering single digit scores at this level on a track you ride every week, then elite is a few years away yet and any international recognition is simply a pipe dream!
-
Which ever way you look at it - that one was one shocking team performance........with the exception of Heeps and Ellis who had their moments.. We don't need to go through names on the forum, the Foxhall faithful know exactly what to expect from each of the riders when they line up at the tapes and it's fast becoming an all too familiar story when our riders miss the gate. This was supposed to be a Cup Final - plenty of noise made this week in the press, radio and website and yet the public turn up and watch a circus!. I'm not taking anything away from Edinburgh who were excellent but quite honestly the rebuilding job for 2015 starts now for the Louis' It will be a long ol drive tomorrow to Scotland and worse still come next Thursday they will do well to get 250 paying customers for the 16 lapper..

Who Would Have Won?
Bezza replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I would have to plump for Nielsen for almost all GP years which makes you wonder how many titles he could have achieved when consistency is required. As much as I was a fan of Gundersen - Nielsen was able to able to adapt to most conditions and different size tracks. -
Ipswich Vs Somerset Thursday 5th June 7.30pm Plkoc
Bezza replied to CardinalSin's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I am all for changing the riding order but from where I stand on the terraces I can foresee Worrall and Heeps chasing the same piece of track and likewise Morten and Gino. It probably needed Tungate and Morten to swap to make this viable. -
I absolutely agree! Afternoon meetings at Ipswich usually get a great crowd and yet for whatever reason the standard of racing is generally poor - not a great recipe for future custom!.............and that has to go down as one of the worst performances in recent years. I suggest we either swap times with the opposition next year or perhaps start the meeting late morning when there's perhaps a bit of overnight moisture. Better still get the riders using the wider spaces of foxhall as opposed to following the same line used by the rider in front - us supporters are tired of seeing it week in week out! We must give credit to Peterborough though who trapped all afternoon with their experienced riders dominating the young witches in the first bend. Any thoughts I had of going to Peterborough soon vanished once we were 10 behind! EDIT: I have just seen a friends message on fb, it reads My 1st Speedway meeting of the year - wont be going again. Utter Cr@p!!!

Witches V Rebels Lc 3/4/14
Bezza replied to dontforgetthefueltapsbruv's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The meeting was pretty poor to be honest. Track conditions played a major part with little/no water but perhaps understandably with the tea time threat of rain! On the plus side Manzares seems to have found the quickest way round and rightly MOTM. Perhaps Gino should be considered for the main body next week and move Heeps to 2 to give him a bit of confidence. I am not expecting Plymouth to pose to many threats on their travels and next week will be no different. I'm relying on Ben to provide the entertainment.
