Excuse me you rude prick??? If the quoted text below from the website doesn't intimate home and away being separate then i think your illness has affected your visual skills a little more than i previously thought. Poole Pirates will be operating a home and away management scheme when they take their place in the SGB Championship for the 2020 season, with two club legends, Neil Middleditch and Gary Havelock, spreading the race day team managerial duties between them. Middleditch, who has masterminded eight top flight league titles and steered the Pirates into all the Elite league play-offs 15 times (from the 18 seasons in which the play-offs have been in operation), and will be honoured, at the start of the campaign. with a special meeting in his name, in recognition of his services to Poole, will be at the helm for the Pirates' home meetings whilst former club captain and 1992 world champion Gary Havelock will be handed the rulebook when the Pirates are on their travels. -

The press release intimated that it was for all away matches, not just northern ones.. -

Oh yeh, he'll put his all into that's for sure, no doubting that. Re Middlo, i think he's probably just found what works, and he probably looks average because he doesn't seem to do much other than belly rubbing of the riders - but it's worked for him over the years, so probably not much need to change things especially at his age. Don't like him as a bloke, but that's for his social escapades - speedway wise, you cant argue with his record i guess. -

I guess is a decent option considering the other candidates able to do it i suppose. If it was my team tho, i'd be asking is he a a real motivator away from home where they will be behind more often than not ? And is he tactically aware enough and rulebook savvy enough to make the changes required at the right time, to not leave the team exposed at other points of the meeting etc.. Middlo has got a right touch here, cover the simple homes, and Havelock has got the aggro of the aways Genuine question, has he been successful on the road in his previous posts ? Good luck to him anyway. -

I'm sure others will give better answers than me, but to me it just looked like plain fear. If he didn't have a clear track ahead of him, he looked like he got spooked very easy, bailing out as soon as riders started to bunch up around him. Ironically, a few of his retirements at Smallmead were downright dangerous almost causing crashes in themselves. -

Mad to think how many clubs Elkins had over the years. Had he been around now he would never have lasted imo. This forum alone would have put him in the loony bin with the mocking and criticism he would have got. -

That was 91 tho wasn't it ? , so top league by then.. i remember seeing him as a wobbler in the second half against Cradley that year or even possibly 92 - na 91 i reckon. The common link with most of the riders named is Neil Street. It wasn't just the Aussies he advised/coached/nurtured a few others that spring to mind include: Simon Wigg, Simon Cross, Steve Schofield, Scott Nicholls, N.K.I. Neil was much more than a team manager, sadly he was never accredited or rewarded for his dedication to the sport in the U.K. unlike he was in Australia. This didn't bother him as he did for the love of the sport. Absolutely correct. A total gent. Something that can't be said of certain modern day sycophants in the sport. Probably right, it was definitely a second half i saw him in at Poole but don't think it was an actual team event. So yeh PB was his first legit season i guess. -

Well and truly gone. They've jammed about maybe 10+ apartment blocks into the space that the old track took up, right up to Ladywell fields.

Half the forum ? Go and sulk then. I see you haven't even answered the question ray asked, but i guess that may be a struggle for someone like you. -

Yes, i do. I would call you something else but you'll go crying to the mods so i will save that. If you post something stupid, you have to expect for people to question you, or at least ask for clarification. That doesn't make them a troll. -

i actually pre-empted his stupidity and read it as the "kits" are bog standard meaning there are quite a few basic bits that are generally the same cost. Saying that, the man is a buffoon, so he probably did mean the kids are bog standard actually.. Either way, new year, same old starman -
Yeh is a nice walk to St Pancras if the weather behaves. My former house was 30 seconds walk from the old stadium - i rather miss the being back home by 5pm bit now i'm down in South London near Palace. Am lucky if i get back by 7 these days.
-
Yeh we do it as tickets sold so will always show as pretty much a sellout. I've been season ticket holder for donkeys years and it's been like that since we moved from Highbury. Makes us look a bit daft really.

I think Stekkers runs the old speedway dvd thing, classic speedway videos.com or something like that - so assume that's his base - somewhere like stafford i think it was.
-
Kinda agree here, albeit i think its just a final pocket of fans that come across as incredibly bitter and are almost wanting to pick a fight on various threads to let off their frustrations.
-
Christ almighty - i get that maybe Stevebrum or the other Steve said things and gave answers you weren't happy with, but seriously, are things really that bad this close to Christmas to be prattling on about this shiite to this level.

I'm pretty sure he falls into the "he was young so was gonna improve anyway" comeback that very typically was given many pages back You're right tho..
-
Someone, i'm not sure if it was lisa as i can't be bothered to go back thru said something about the age of a rider not being relevant as they were young so would therefore improve anyway. The argument isn't black and white. Just a little pathetic the constant harping on imo.

I seem to remember this member having a number of spats a few months ago when she got similarly het up and kept on and on and on, even accusing other members of bullying. I thought she took my friendly suggestion at the time of maybe using the close season as a perfect time to chill away from the forum. Seems that hasn't exactly happened.

it's actually making me cringe now.

You ok hun ? -
The first post i saw was from stevebrum saying "Riders generally do improve when they move away from Poole" Was there another one before that then where it said every rider ?
