  1. Firstly, apologies as i know i can find this on the website i'm sure but wanted to check with regulars aswell.. Coming from London, what's the best kinda way to the stadium using public transport ? Looking forward to a few visits next season..
  2. I thought he was more a general inspector re the safety side. I read this as 2 hands on guys who will maybe help and share methods etc.
  3. Good idea that. Just in case they need the link.. here it is. https://www.tidetimes.org.uk/poole-harbour-tide-times Seriously tho, good idea and hopefully the tracks will take on board the years of experience the two have.
  4. I'm close to offering to sponsor him to push a local fan in a wheelchair the 300m but he won't be brave enough to take that on i'm sure.
  5. No i'm not at all, i'm only asking would you as a young chap be happy to do a trek like that with a condition of your own to contend with. Your answer is fine, it would depend on the weather, and probably as you recover, you'd be stronger and you'd be fine with the 300m walk on crutches and rough ground as a strong chap like you would cope no problem.. but what if you aren't getting better ? Are you gonna consider the weather every week til you pop your clogs, or fork out hundreds of pounds for mobility aids just cos the speedway club you followed for years suddenly changed their rules for some vague reasons. Any sane person would tell them to shove it up their you know what. I would, 100%. BB holders aren't people with broken legs tho are they, they've got conditions that are going nowhere and you're basically saying that unless they are prepared to fork out a few quid, they should swivel. But you, as a young and presumably fit young man with an injury would be checking the weather before you commit to dragging yourself along. Your opinions here are based on seeing it thru your eyes and your eyes only. If you are hoping that those affected by this ruling will just turn up and adjust i fear you will be disappointed, and it may well cost you an enjoyable season, or your club. Which is a shame. It's a suggestion, not sure i'd say sensible tho. If the club are crying over a few arguments with badge holders last season, they might object to disabled people plonking themselves down willy nilly on pathways in fold-up chairs on the out lying areas of the stadium. A sensible, but still not suitable for all solution, would be a airport buggy style thing - but as said before, that only suits a certain type of bb holder and wouldnt be suitable for all. Would at least be seen as some kind of offer rather than just saying crack on with it.
  6. I'm not telling you they're potless - i'm telling you that the supposed solutions you're offering are actually so far removed from reality it's untrue. If you broke your leg playing football or whatever, and you needed to park close (and i realise you wouldn't have a bb here, but the point still stands ) as you were on crutches, would you attend speedway the following week if it meant dragging your freshly broken leg, and freshly heavy plaster, using the crutches that were cutting into your hands with every step for 300m ? Or would you go for one of the solutions that you offered as above, scooter, wheelchair, walk 300m etc.. i'm curious genuinely.
  7. I think you do yourself no favours here, as saying bb holders are having a hissy fit and will turn up anyway shows such a gross ignorance towards the actual issues - sounds like in your young life you've been fortunate enough to avoid any elderly family having mobility issues and the challenges that go along with them otherwise you wouldn't be thinking that it's just so easy to just walk an extra 150m to somewhere. That's before we get to your assumption that it's easy to fork out a few hundred on a mobility aid, or "get an uber".. The arrogance of youth may give you a few laughs as you talk with the adults on here, but believe me, reality will sadly catch up with you one day and you'll see things a bit different when perhaps you or a relative fall into the category of those affected here.
  8. If the example provided in a £30 parking steward would lose money, i presume you're thinking that only a handful of bb holders won't turn up anymore is that right ? ie, less than the outlay for the steward ?
  9. Did you not say in response to me the other night that bb holders should be forking out hundreds of pounds for mobility scooters tho - why does Buster get it easy when it comes to finances ? I've been away for the weekend so you may have addressed this already in your unwavering support for him, but do you think that the citing of an on-track death in Colin North as validation for this change? Or the fact that maybe they seemed to have punished lots of folk because of some very non specific incidences in that statement ? You say above he shouldnt make changes to please " a few people " yet he has used the actions of "a number " (how many is that anyway)as justification for all this ? Just curious how you fall down on this as you're clearly very supportive.
  10. You suggested Uber, which someone has already pointed out can get no closer, buy a wheelchair and buy a scooter, and the expense of many hundreds of pounds. If this is the Danny Green, of the old Reading forum days which i suspect it is, perhaps consider this - your brother, the local chap killed in Afghanistan that was on the news and was reported locally and i remember very well.. if he was lucky enough to have survived the incident and maybe just got away with enough injuries to disable him and need a blue badge.. would you be still being as crass and as rude about this issue then ? Probably not.. he must be so proud.
  11. Exactly. The "statement" (where they shamefully use an on-track accident that has f&ck all to do with this as justification) reads as if they've had incidents with specific people that they couldn't handle, so their idea of a solution is to screw all badge holders just to make a point to the minority who abused the facility last year. It's gonna bite them on the bum badly either way which is a shame.
  12. Most blue badge arrangements give them plum parking spots for pretty much anything they want. So yeh imo it would be one small part. It's not like the sport has a young youthful vibe with 20 somethings lining the terraces is it ? Surely even the poorest of businessman can see that peeing off the older generations and the disabled is only gonna end up with one outcome.
  13. Wheelchair is what £100 odd quid ? Mobility scooter gotta be 5x that surely. Seems a lot of money for one small part of their lives. Anyway, doesn't matter to me personally, they'll go bust as it stands regardless which seems a shame.
  14. I think that's a little, erm, can't think of the word... but it's not accurate. Oh, ignorant was the word i was looking for. Just because someone can't walk distance, doesn't mean they can't walk and ergo need a wheelchair. It sounds like you perhaps haven't seen a relative or partner get to the stage of needing a blue badge. My mum, (late 70's who has never been to speedway btw but just providing an example), is a blue badge holder due to several operations on hips etc, can potter about short distances slowly, but would have no need or wish for a wheelchair, unless maybe at an airport where it is provided for her. Why on earth should they have to buy an additional mobility aid on the pension just because the speedway want to change something for a problem that barely exists ? Whilst citing a completely unrelated death as a reason, and also continuing to allow endless numbers of freeloaders in via the pits anyway ? Stinks to high heaven. apologies for the edit - what are the other suggestions to get round this, you didn't mention them in the last post.
  15. Be serious.. you're saying someone should fork out to buy a wheelchair just for the speedway.. ? Oh yeh, that's the way to get fans coming along or perhaps buying season tickets.. Curious at the many other options they could utilise ? Get a pit pass ? Press pass ? Your happy vibes won't really get you anywhere when your club goes under mid season due to low crowds, - personally i'd say this issue is here to stay no matter what you think.
  16. Backing the club is fine and noble, but it's also right to stand up and say that something is bang out of order. I think your management is doing a good enough job of letting the club go under by themselves in picking on something so divisive to get sensible fans backs up.
  17. Surely they're not referring to Colin North's death as some kind of justification for this are they ? Incredibly bad taste if so.
  18. Looks good, what did they price it at for the trial last season ?
  19. Sorry, what are you wittering on about ? In a social surround, eg, pub, darts, or at speedway meeting perhaps, would you accept some cretin accusing you loudly of being thick and not being able to read and just scratch his belly and ruffle his hair ? I certainly wouldn't. He's grossly offended many people over the years and got a number of members lengthy bans despite saying some massively offensive things himself. He needs to perhaps have a bit of ownership of the comments he makes as he's very quick to cry when others laugh at his medical issues.
  20. Coming into this late, but if a tweet mentions getting affairs in order, that fits Holder's situation down to a t as i'm sure you know.. whether he gets clearance or not i wouldn't be too sure. Would be nice seeing him and Nicki clash again tho.
  21. Not at all. As i said, i'll catch up with him at Poole.
  22. True there for me also Gem, and i'm not one who personally would be affected by the access issues. Hearing of @Mimmo and his wife and them being cut off from speedway due to this stupidity has really really p.ssed me off. I'm doing some digging.
  23. From the man who cried and cried when someone wished him ill last year despite winding the guy up on here. Anyway, how was i "dishing it" with my message ? I replied to another poster saying that the press release was worded in a way that it looked like a home and away arrangement, bearing in mind it literally said that. You butted in and replied saying i was "another one who couldnt read" or words similar to that. We'll see if you're quite so gobby face to face when i pop down in the season anyway. I hope your carer is nearby.
