Who Was The Most Frustrating Rider?
The Doctor... replied to Ommer Mon's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Much like Pawel Clews at Reading. Unbeatable at Smallmead, yet laughable on the road. -
Which Rider Have You Never Taken To?
The Doctor... replied to phillipsr's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Thank the lord someone has a list as long as mine. Some general hatred, some with reasons, here are mine. Jason Lyons - injured my favourite rider Todd Wiltshire when i was just starting out in the sport. My grudge lasts to this day! Sam Ermolenko - knocked me over with his in the car park at Brandon before something like the british or overseas Final in the 90s Nicki Pedersen Carl Stonehewer Bobby Ott - i dunno why, he just annoyed me Kelvin f*ckin Tatum - looked arrogant the first time i saw him and that was enough for me!. Oddly enough, had many funny nights out with him since, but he knows i despised him as a rider. See my picture obviously. Jimmy Nilsen - his eyes were weird. Crump. Ben Barker. Tony Rickardsson. Bunyan Dave Watt Andrew Silver -
I've had many a head injury over the years, so i might be wrong, but my only dead heat was in the middle of an enormous sequence of unbeaten rides by Per Jonsson in 1994 i would think. He was up against Peter Karlsson from what i remember. Pointless anecdote i know. Apologies.

Wow..what a bizarre thread and couple of posts from you. Perhaps you should get your son to use your login and post on your behalf in future. I'm confident he'll have more sense to talk.

Speedway Star Toothless Pussycat

Do sportowefakty have a weekly magazine in print form ? Not sure how the comparison can be made if they haven't to be fair. By the way, how did the job hunting go ? -
I don't want this particular part of the thread to end, EVER!! Made me smile on the tube after a stressful shift... Gustix..sit down in your rocking chair, get your pipe going, and think carefully about why people are perhaps replying in the way they are..surely an educated chap like you can work it out..

Speedway Fans Interests Survey

You asked if anyone had any questions. I asked a simple one. Any chance of an answer ? -
Speedway Fans Interests Survey
The Doctor... replied to kraftwerk's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yes. What the hell was the point ? People replied from different countries, telling you that each liked certain competitions and had favourite riders...what on earth can you glean from that ? -
I'll be honest, i dont give a toss about the stags themselves, but i'm all for a team coming back...so brilliant news for all concerned. Well done to all involved - enjoy your season folks.. Tom
-
It's really not...i was born on good friday. Cheers Tom

Regardless of the outcome, well done mate.

Why should i mess about with that ? it's not acceptable for him to ride roughshod through the forum as it is, and i cetainly won't be giving him more leeway by putting him on block or ignore, or whatever this forum offers to deal with people like him. I noticed my factual post was reported as personal abuse and therefore edited by the mods. No problem with that mods. Anyway, i'm off out for a walk soon...coffee gustix ?

Perhaps maybe then it's time to ask yourself why ? It always seem to be you doesn't it ?

Favourite Closed Tracks

Yikes...a slur on Wokingham. Whatever will i do ? It's certainly a far nicer place than the area which you and i now live very close to eachother in John. Very close. Edit: the topic is deviating, and i have work to go. Back to topic, and seeing as it was the scene of my first and biggest memory in the sport to this day, courtesy of the 1990 world final, Bradford will always remain my favourite closed track, even ahead from Smallmead i think. -

Nope, not interested sorry. Was just inquisitive if you actually visited my home town, or was just plucking a random old time speedway venue out of the air. Probably about a 4 mile walk from the station up to the park by the way. No more specifics needed. Am aware of the history and reunions etc. -

Did you actually see many meetings at California ? Cant imagine many others apart from locals attending southern league racing in Wokingham.. -
And off we go on another tangent ! Pm a mod and ask them to remove the post maybe ? Enough people hit the like button on my post for me to realise that's it not just me who feels that way. I don't hide behind anonymous usernames, i have identified myself several times on this forum, and i post what i feel needs to be said. My hopes for 2014 are for a currently dormant club or two to make real strides towards getting back on track. Oxford would be a good start..
-
Glad you've finally realised you spout a lot of guff. My hope for 2014 is that you take a leaf out of Bryn's book. Less is more. He may not post as much these days, but when he does, it makes sense. You post all the time, and it's always crap. And just to make it clear, as i know you've quoted this in the last few days - i AM attacking the poster, not the post. I empower the mods to give me a warning as it's frankly worth it Kind Regards Peed off of Penge..

Cheapest ticket £30 today i believe. My season ticket was worth £35.50 today.. £93 this coming saturday against Tottenham.

Oh dear, Is this the cue for someones "true" story of how they were sitting round discussing speedway with a friend who had never been, who upon hearing about the notion of guests, playoffs etc, supposedly ends up rolling on the floor laughing their socks off ? Hmm..i hope not. Good post anyway Vince.

So Where Now Nick Morris
The Doctor... replied to spin king's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
To be fair, i was only taking the original comment as my basis. I don't do PL news generally, so didn't realise he was signed up and then shafted due to an issue with averages or something. The original post didn't go into detail did it ? Anyway, i'm big enough to admit i fooked up there. Carry on with the topic gents.. -

Could it not just be the case that he perhaps was only going to ride Elite in 2014 anyway? -
Dont lump me in on this little crusade of yours. I'm happy to let the people who actually are involved in the sport on a day to day basis make the calls on safety, as ultimately it's them who will fall on their sword if anything went wrong and the hse or other agencies became involved in the case of a serious accident or death. I don't see the riders gnashing their teeth about it either.. How many years have they been used now ? Donkeys.. How many lives have been lost as a result of an air fence ? Hmm..well as a moron recently said to me on this forum "The air fence debacle is going to cost a life"...so i'm guessing there hasnt been any then ? You will NEVER ever get the answers about research or data from this forum - why not drop the scb a christmas card, and ask them ? I've suggested it many times to you before, but you still insist on trying to find something here from a frankly bored crowd now - at the beginning of this laughable crusade, i would have even give you the name of a very good friend at the scb you could have aimed your missive at. Sadly you never chose to do that..so perhaps you'll never get an answer to your question. Goodnight campers.
-
Hmm..i wasn't questioning any of the figures, but thank you for enlightening me. Anyway, fences are great..proven to be safer for riders, lots of data to back them up..i love them . Hope IOW get themselves sorted out with the funding or at least a solid plan asap. Off to work now Mr Merrick..laters.

Yawn..you still here ? So, back to the actual thread - a week since the original post, has there been any developments locally or anything from the Island to report ? I see there's due to be a meeting of shareholders tonight according to the local paper - hope all goes well.
