  1. I've been on forums for best part of 20 years with Neil though i dont know him personally, so i wouldnt normally have thought along those lines.. However, it stinks of that big time imo. Edit - just seen that Neil is already banned.. still stinks tho.
  2. That's not the reasoning why Reading and others were stopped, and as others have said, their best hope is a few challenge matches.
  3. I'm not holding my breath there. I'm still pretty stunned at the pulling of the petition off the back of one conversation with zero details whatsoever made public. After all that fuss aswell. Sadly sums up things over the years in speedway - those on the inside are quite happy to clam up when pushed for details from the paying public.
  4. Blimey - bet there ain't many petitions that get pulled so easily. So because they said it wasn't gonna change, that satisfied you ? Each to their own, but that wouldn't satisfy me. I realise you weren't speaking to whoever it was on behalf of folk on an official basis, but blimey.
  5. As i said, wasn't a dig - curious as to what was said that's satisfied you then ?
  6. Yeh was a good turnout riders and fans. Very long night in the bar after aswell from what i remember.
  7. Disappointed to get the email earlier saying the petition was being pulled after your discussion. Bearing in mind how passionate you were, are you able to furnish any more info on what was said ? Not a personal dig honestly, but the pulling of the petition seems like a bit of a back down, and i can't help thinking that you've been told to do so.. I hope that's not the case.
  8. Yeh i don't actually think they finished it. I've got the programme somewhere but pretty sure it was cut short cos of the rain.
  9. I don't think Holder will get them issues sorted, and i think it's junior superbikes that Crump jnr is involved in.
  10. Was just gonna say that. I've got his race jacket from the farewell meeting. Took the edge of it a tiny bit when he came back but still pleased i got it.
  11. Seth is already deep in some superbike discipline... not sure of the name tho
  12. They've chosen to ignore my post and someone else who also mentions it aswell.
  13. Agree with all this, especially as a Reading fan, but the Milan situation isn't the same really as it's a council stadium with both teams as tenants. Milan way before Inter but still it wasn't the case of one piggy backing the other. I'd love to see the official criteria of how the bspa deem a club to be actively looking for a stadium - Reading have been doing so most definitely but it seems they're being punished for not making a song and dance of all the failed attempts etc. Sad state of affairs indeed. Good luck to the other clubs also affected.
  14. I've just asked a straight up question on there.. surely they won't delete that will they
  15. I think the safest way to put it was that he has had a few scrapes that perhaps have made any visa processes not so straight forward.
  16. Oh definitely.. incredibly weak. Whoever it is that caused them issues last year must have really peed them off that's for sure. Seems such a boneheaded approach to dealing with the problem. As you say, plenty of other options they could have taken, warnings etc.
  17. Are there any pics floating round of the work ? There was a Facebook link before but I couldn’t get it working.
  18. The longer it goes on, I can’t help thinking that whichever badge holders apparently had the run ins with the parking staff here are being deliberately targeted by the club. It’s as if they want to massively inconvenience those individuals and if a few others get caught up in the aggro the club aren’t fussed. And when the innocent ones grizzle, the club can simply refer back to these mystery badge holders who were involved in the issues last season and say it’s all been caused by them.
  19. When I saw the notification that you’d commented i knew it would be something along those lines. When people aren’t trolling I’m brotherly to everyone. There are plenty of folk who would gladly give John a lift to Rye or even Kent next year if he so wishes as personally I wouldn’t be recommending the trains to the older generation round here anymore. Lots of london fans (albeit not on this forum) still getting their fix whether it be Kent or Eastbourne these days. Rye would be a doddle for them. Anyway back to bed. Night shift coming up.
  20. I was just gonna look up his scoring on speedway-stats.co.uk that the vile scb used to run but i've stopped myself as it's bang up to date meaning i guess scb is back in our midst somewhere. Yuk. Fwiw, i always thought in my head Nicholls was good round there, just can't bring myself to look at that site now.
  21. He's rather confusingly approaching it using horse racing logic for what he's trying to say. His long post could literally be something out of the racing post even with the way he's written it. Madsen was on the rostrum for 3 of the first 4 rounds coming in 2020 so his prices each week will be daft anyway unless he has a stinker or two which is unlikely. Just reading his post again and it's making me chuckle.. bridge too far, watching brief, well exposed...it's like i'm reading about the 2.15 at Chepstow. Bless him.
  22. I think he came back at the tail end of 90 as i remember him guesting for Todd for us i think and being absolutely fuming as he was terrible.. it was my first season so had no idea he was quality a few years previous..
  23. Yeh true. I'm sure i remember in the 90s my team literally going down to press and practise day before they confirmed anything a few times. One year it was after..
  24. I'm near John, and when Rye was open i used to go via new cross gate as you put above. Simple enough and i was able to have a beer afterwards before the heading back south. Far easier when i lived in Highbury, north of the river tho. Went nearly every week then and only up the road. Would be lovely to see it back running again.
