Might be worth a second watch - it's Paul Dugard apparently who approaches Cook and mouths off in his face. Cook throws the first punch.

Fuming that we're agreeing again, but totally agree. All this guff about red lights, riders having no options but to ride away from supposed danger areas etc etc. The pit return is half way down the straight at arlington for a start so they would have had to go back across the intro area to leave anyway. And also, forget the red lights, as Shov alluded to, when have you ever seen a team act like utter nobs and steam off on their practise laps while the introductions were still ongoing. Childish behaviour at best.

If the glasgow fans feared for getting out of the place then they are bigger snowflakes than some of the clowns on here. There wasn't a squeak from the eastbourne fans near them all night. Plenty of kids running around yes, terrace hooligans, not so much.

The glasgow fans there on the night were fine aswell and couldn't believe their eyes like the rest of us. Certainly none of the mouth and bravado that the ones on here are seemingly fond of.

Paul Dugard apparently - was a bit of a twit in his riding days form what i remember. Banned for something or other - i actually wanna say it was a drugs fail but can't remember. Might explain the eagerness for Kennett to go steaming in tho.

Blimey, remember him.. he had a dust up sometime in his short career too if i remember right.

Think he swerved the ban as he was kicked out of the meeting so they deemed that as the punishment. Was a long time ago so i may be wrong but pretty sure that was it.

Blimey, finally we agree about something. Yeh no matter what caused it all, taking a swing at that guy who got in his face was the catalyst for the shambles that followed.

I have tried to let people know that from my view of the night, that did happen at Eastbourne, someone was down the back straight beyond the rider line up with a red flag out when the intros commenced. I only remember this as the person i was with commented on how big the flag was! No bugger believes me tho.

I think in terms of modern speedway that was a bit more than handbags to me. Good few punches thrown by different folk. Realise the old days were different gravy tho.

I didn't read it like that but i get what you mean. By the same token, a team turning up with a top rider and mithering about track conditions and not getting changed til pretty much start time is hardly good either from a fans perspective imo.

The pa stuff was pantomime stuff imo. Saying about young riders riding the track all day fine and why supposed gp riders couldnt etc.. Protests being led by someone with the same surname as me etc.. Nothing juicy or anything more than that really. It certainly didn't turn the place into a cauldron of hate or anything.

Well done for posting the video. I was having Glasgow supporters in my private messages telling me nothing happened after the shoulder/charge and no punches were thrown by anyone.

What if he was on the track already tho ? The introduction were happening at this point remember..

i am intimating that yes - a marshall on the back straight had his red flag up as the bikes moved off. Obviously not the same marshall involved the aggro but still. And as i said before, when the rest of that video is shown, you'll see that no matter what the hell happened and whoever caused it, it was a ridiculous spectacle that got way out of hand, caused by the original issue of being on the track when they shouldn't have been.

Me either, although the bit he is pointing towards was where all the people were lined up so maybe he was kinda gesturing that people were still there. Who knows..

Scuse me ? I was there, there was a marshall on the back straight waving his red flag. I'm a Reading fan, i actually wanted Glasgow to win on the night so i've got no agenda at all. When the rest of Dugards video is released you'll see it went way further than that little snippet. I dont give two hoots if anyone gets charged or not, but it wasn't some small little incident. Others will get in trouble i'm sure, Dugard possibly being one of them i would say.

Is entering the track on a red flag in the rulebook ? - i also don't think anyone has said youngsters were running around the track have they ? There was however i reckon about 40 people, some of who were on the track as part of the presentation thing before the riders decided to push off with the marshall on the back straight waving his red flag.

Yeh looking at the my phone, i have a tiny clip as cook is led away another rider is grappling with someone in black who takes a swing at him.. So obviously a lot more than the initial clash is being looked at i guess.

The person i was with got the newman one on video as it was obvious what was gonna happen. Not much went on tho really apart from dugard telling vissing where to go.

isn't the pit exit halfway down the back straight tho. they come out one and in the other dont they ?

I'm hoping the rest of the vid gets released at some point. Hangers on got involved and turned it into something far bigger.
