He was very aware what was going on, thats why he started looking behind after two laps when he had a big lead and slowing the race down. Thats how team riding is done, great ride even if i do say so myself. Chopper

Would love to see a video clip of the race , a few regular sheffield supporters were saying it was the best race there for many a year. Full credit to the riders who just got on with the job in what were trying conditions early on. No good up and coming British speedway riders, i dont think so. Chopper

Bit of a joke that Jayne cant find a 7th rider who is willing to ride for the national league rate. Bet there are a few aussies that have been excluded from riding that are sitting at home that would jump at the oppourtunity. Chopper

At the start of every month the bspa can release a riders average, say 4 and under make them a 1, between 4.1 and 5 make them a 2,and so on up to a 10 point average and if more than one replacement is required or even for an r/r you can use a rider with the same number as a guest. This way riders would pick up extra rides and the situation that happened towards the end of the season could be avoided.Also riders that are trying to break into the Premier league but still need the National league to fall back on wont be as big an issue to be replaced when fixtures clash. A few noticeable omissions here, and a definite learning opportunity for emerging Mildura teenager Brenton Barnfield, who won the Australian Under 16s 350cc Championship in 2009, but all in all an exciting mix of riders which should guarantee some great racing. Big well done to Max, to beat Authur around his home track is no easy feat. Also well done to Seth Hickey, it would be great to see him win an aussie title berth, hes come a long way in a few seasons and ive also seen him on Roberts 500 and he is quick. Jack Norman is the son of former south aussie champion and international rider Scott Norman and is in only his first season of racing after coming through the novice section. The future of the sport looks good with these youngsters. Bring on the aussie under 16s at Sidewinders in January. Chopper

I spent 6 months travelling to many meetings with my son and i believe that the league is giving a lot of young kids great experience. As for problems with the rules, maybe the promoters need to get together and nut out some answers and put them to the bspa. Well said SCB, i would call there season a gamble that paid off. Firstly giving Charles Wright a chance after injury, pity he didnt finish the season with us but he certainly played his part. Secondly giving the two unknown aussie a berth, Nick was not such an unknown as hed shown his wares in the uk but still hadnt raced a 500,and of course Robert who had only ridden a handfull of races on a 500. Then by giving Jason a berth, and we know how that turned out. The other riders were proven National league riders. So it could have turned belly up as well, but like i said the gamble paid off. I still stand by my statement that if Dudley had made the play offs Ando and Mickey would have ridden. I know Ando fairly well and you wouldnt get a more professional rider, theres no way he would have missed the play off finals had you made it. I think they just saw a window there to get there gear home earlier than they may have planned. I agree with you Wolfy, finals are what you ride, play, all season to be a part of there the meetings that have that extra edge. I know Robert enjoyed mixing it with Lambo, Darren Mallet, Smarty, Big T, Kyle Newman,and the like, premier league riders he looks up to. Chopper

I agree with this 100 percent, if you start the season you should be commited to see the distance. I think you will find if Jake and Micky had been required for the play offs they would have been avalaible. I know that Jake isnt flying home till monday, not sure about Micky. Robert is booked to fly home tuesday, we knew the season finished on the 31st and booked flights accordingly. Chopper

Great to hear a good crowd showed up to watch the meetings. Ive seen a lot of meetings this season and the National league racing at times has been superb. Noticed on the update site that they rated the track , very grippy for a national league meeting, What are peoples views of this, did the riders handle it ok because if anything ive found the tracks to be too slick and i believe some clubs set the tracks up that way for National league. Well done to the Hitmen for the win, also well done to Lynn, seems like a lot of your riders have taken some big steps this year. Not too sure what your implying Trees, but whatever happened wouldnt have been intentional and hopefully Cal is ok.Sounds like there was some very good racing from two competitive teams. Chopper

Not really Malcolm , Buxton and Newport have raced each other four times this season, twice home and twice away. Two of them were National league meetings, Buxton won them both as well as the Trophy meetings although i know these arent relevant. Its not the way it should be decided but to be fair Buxton have earned it by those results, hopefully it doesnt come to that. Cheers Chopper
