British U15 Championship 2009
morganbike replied to PhilK's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Parsloes I have read your posts over the last 8 months and as you are a newbie in the area of youth speedway the majority of posts are acurate and good. However this is the second time you have incorrectly posted and falsley stated as to why Bren missed out on the title. What I suggest you do is examine all the 07 rounds and results for the under 15's and hopefully you will realise that what you have stated is not true. There were 2 qualifying rounds and a final round. The best score from the 2 qualifying rounds was added to the score from the final round. Bren already had a 1st ie 17 points from weymouth and James had a 1st at Northside so how could not going to northside have made it any worse for him. These were the two favourites for the championship on that cold october night at Oxford for the final where as you correctly put Bren had been riding since June with Trump at Oxford. Closer rivals were Dan and Rich who took 15 points to the final. The objective for these 4 riders was to make the Grand Final ie max the points in the 20 heats as the top scorer got 1st gate pick and the inside is where they all wanted to be.Bren got last pick on 12 points so had no gate choice. He missed out on the title Not because he was riding conference for Oxford, Not because he didn't do all the rounds but he simply did not ride well enough to stamp his authority on the meeting and max the points for the gate pick in the final. Don't accuse me of being a Bren hater quite the opposite in fact but the results and heats are there plain to see so get them correct please. This is a time of free speach and all that crap which I am all for but to be honest some of you posters really do pile on the crap and we parents wonder why the hell we bother doing 30,000 miles a year, spend all our money on bikes and diesel to be told your son only won the under 15's title because of this utter rubbish posted by you. had the U15 title 'nailed on' if he'd been able to ride in enough/all rounds was Brendan Johnson.. Once Bren got in a CL team (Oxford) he did miss U-15 rounds and as a result missed out on the title How many times has Garrity 08 Champ been mentioned on this forum since he won the title ????. -

I think you will find that since Peter Oakes resigned all youth speedway operations and results are neglected. Lets hope that things will improve in the future Phil -

Northside 16th August 2008
morganbike replied to trainer's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Dan rode in a conference match instead. There's a nice countershaft on e bay for you. Like I said no reason to change the format depending on number of riders entered. Has always worked in the past so no need to make the heats up. I don't think that clubs run these events to make money and covering the costs of the paramedics is paramount.Insurance and trophys will cost a bit and from day one all riders know there are no expenses available to cover costs so I doubt your facts are valid. Northside is a stand alone training venue and certainly do not have big fat wallets. They do however supply drinks and pasties from the local bun shop free when you pay to train and no others do that. Well done to Judith and her crew for another succesfull meeting. -

Can't understand why here they had semis and a final in the 500's to decide the winner of the round when at Stoke in round 1 they didn't. Surely all 5 rounds should be run under the same format ???????. Imagine changing the format of the GP's imbetween rounds. -
Stoke Sunday July 20
morganbike replied to morganbike's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Re the 500's At 16 and a half years old he will be buying his own soon. What happened to the Under 15's British Championships where you had to be under 15 on Jan 1st in that year to compete ? Did the winner actually race against the overall second place rider at any time ????? Heat selections were drawn up by some SCB secretary no doubt as they were well off balance. Good to see the riders get a 2 lap skid before the meet started to get a feel for the track. Definately a good idea for those unfamiliar with the track. -
Well Billy Smart has now offered to do a better job and has threatend to take over the procedings. I am please to announce that Stoke will run the 1st round of the 2008 under 15's Championship this Sunday 7.30pm Start. To Enter contact Nicky at SCB on 01788 560648. The Redcar round is provisionally Sunday 17 August the day after the Northside round and Glen has organised a room rate of £30 in a local establishment close to the track for Sat eve.I will post a contact number to book in to this plush hotel when I get it. I don't think any one does !!!!. Best person to ask is Glen Taylor who is compiling for programme. Just been informed that the champion in each class will be decided by taking the three best scores from any of the four rounds. Not sure if its scored 17 15 14 13 ect as in past years. Entering both classes is allowed.

morganbike replied to morganbike's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
You can meet us all there Jeff. It is apparent that you have no idea as to what it takes to ride a speedway bike and your negative comments are a disgrace to british speedway. Its you that needs to step into the new millenium and stop bringing the youngsters down. There are people at tracks whose sole aim is to get kids and second halves up and running so if you are at belle vue go see Steve Williams who puts 100 % effort in.His reward is satisfaction that he has made some kid happy. Have you been following the under 15's series the last 4 years and have you ever been to a round of the championships ?. Being 15 and under and owning a bike is reason to run demonstrations at Cardiff as it gets the riders recognised as the SCB do very little for youth riders. Lewis Bridger was an unknown before his cardiff appearance at age 15/16 and is now a world wide name. Or is he one of those you speak about with uneccessary vans and websites. Isn't it time for your afternoon nap ?. -
Confirmed by SCB today this is to go ahead. Format and how to enter tbc

Jeff in my opinion you really should stay away from this topic. It was meant to bring posative encouraging remarks towards our youngsters and not negativity from you. Next year dont go through the gates till 5.45pm and do us all a favour. Remember the kids who rode and many others of similar age who do ride do read this section of the forum as its for them and your views are not welcome. What BSI do with the free time allocated pre main event is their choice and you are not forced to enter and watch. A training school it is not but an invitation to experience the track and atmosphere it is. You really are an asshole for posting those comments. Phil Greenwood -

They have not been offered any financial help at all just like previous years. The costs of accomodation and transport are a small price to pay for the experience. Apart from riding the track all 8 riders will each get 4 two day pit passes and 5 tickets for the main event seated above the start line. The SCB have finances available for running the under15's british championships but non are available for this event. The riders chosen to ride by Peter Oakes do not have to attend and they do have the option to say no. -

Oxford Under 15's Final Round ...
morganbike replied to spuds-r-us's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Now I know James and Family.Enzo and Chris, and your lies about speaking to him at Scunny are just a P-SS take and you are doing yourself and him no favours. Now James's Dad is called Mark and I am Phil.Yes we appreciate your enthusiasm and support for young James as you put it, although next year is his last year in the under 15's as he is 15 in November 08 so that makes him 13 years and 11 months old at the Oxford final round. My son was the youngest ever 500 licence holder at 10 and a half years old before the new rules came out but who cares. Before that it was George Piper. Just a side note, We personally have now completed four years in the under 15's championships and the new 250 rules have its advantages but problems will occur with the transition to 500.The 250 riders will hold onto the capacity as long as possible and Shane is the first mover to upgrade along with Jake and a few others. Ashley and Mark should now be offered the upgrade as they are good enough to do so and regardless of age they should go for it.However they are enjoying the attention and confidence boost they are getting but we need an assesor to bring these guys safely through the ranks as individuals on their ability not on just age and birthdates. Incidentaly the only two riders to try and put an overtaking move on Under 15's winner Daniel were Shane and James so hats off to them and my son looks forward to competing in the 2008 under 15's Championships.Bring on the 250 boys !!!!!. -
