  1. No wonder Speedway is treated like a joke Rune Holta riding for Poland ,i don't think so, but wait Tomasz Gollob first letter of surname is G last letter B mmm maybe he's riding for the wrong country.
  2. Totally agree this mag is fantastic and is now my only contact with speedway, i find todays speedway completely boring and this coming from someone who used to go to 4 tracks a week in the 70s , Too many bl---y foreigners here with scrabble word names no wonder England dont win, sorry GB . anyway back to the good times what about a story on Bob Valentine i know he had some sort of accident but has any other rider gone from a 9 point man to virtual novice so quick
  3. cant understand why Australia didnt put out their strongsest team, surely Craig Boyce as one of the best gaters in the league should have been in their side from the start instead of prancing about in the pits with a programme board
  4. as a speedway supporter since 1960 we had Great Britain in the late 60s/ early 70s which meant we could use Australasians ie. Ivan Mauger Barry Briggs etc. it was then changed to England when we had an abundance of talent, try telling a non speedway supporter that you support team GB and they will wonder what your on about
  5. Why are people picking different teams for Poland and Reading if ENGLAND qualify, what incentive is there for the riders in Poland to do well if they know they are going to be replaced and why is Neil Middleditch still ENGLAND team manager, look at his club Poole with foreigners in the top 5 hasn,t he any faith in English riders ,oh well at least he can shout for Denmark,Sweden,Poland, and even Australia if ENGLAND dont qualify
  6. Having just seen the Ipswich v Swindon meeting on Sky Lee Richardson is a definate non starter for the GB team, Perhaps we will just have to wait a few years for riders like Lewis Bridger and Josh Auty to gain any future succes in the World Cup
  7. I Will still stay with the 5 riders i have picked Loram, Stead, Screen,Harris and Nicholls as these are all racers and will give their all, but as is usually the case even the most mediocre foreigner will raise their game and become match winners and so prevent GB either qualifying or winning the event
  8. This is the team i would pick Mark Loram Joe Screen Simon Stead Scott Nicholls Res. Chris Harris
  9. Bob Valentine and Doug Wyer if only to put their view across on John Berry
  10. while not agreeing with all Nicky Pedersens antics he along with Antonio Lindback certainly liven proceedings in the Tony Rickardsson Road Show
  11. could not agree more he was brilliant at Ipswich in 1974 when we won the KO cup
  12. i believe that Ivan Mauger is still the greatest he had alot more top rivals to beat than Rickardsson has now + ask anybody without any knowledge of speedway and even now the name Ivan Mauger will be mentioned
  13. i was a tigers fan from the age of six in 1960 up until their closure in the late eighties and in all that time we only won the ko cup in 1974 in the late seventies early eighties sheffield seemed to sign riders past their sell by date ie Plech Persson Broadbelt Kroeze etc strangely enough i supported Belle Vue after Sheffield closed but i havent been to a speedway meeting since 1990
  14. totally disagree if it wasnt for sky speedway would be in trouble maybe crump should have told his team to f*** off with the obviously underpowered bike he was on in the 2 races he finished
