  1. Thats a brilliant idea Main Man - but only if the gates are open for walk ins. Can't afford 2 meetings in one day now x 3 people!! But its still a good idea for those that can I remember a Dream team meet followed by Elite League Pairs(?) at Peterborough in the evening two years back. It was certainly a fun day and well worth the travelling.
  2. Now we know what we will be missing. (Not here - on holibobs!) Sounds like a great meeting - Great Britain - Chris Harris Scott Nicholls Sweden - AJ USA Billy J Billy Hammill Greg Hancock ALL good round Coventry and no doubt others will start adding names to that list.
  3. Been home for about 30 minutes now and my fingers have now thawed out enough to post. It was a great day but unfortunately spoilt by the weather. We had the snow storms of all snow storms which saw many people decide to leave, which wasnt a suprise because if you had kids you neded to go somewhere. You couldnt get into the bar areas and if the fire alarm were to have gone off I dread to think what would have happened. It was very nice to have the entrance fee still at £15 which for so many star riders was good value and although the programme was £5 it was worh it - until it got very wet!! But food and beverage was a rip off. £2 for a small cone of chips and nearly £2 for a hot chocolate (so I was told, after which I didnt bother going to get one). Which on a day like to day was ridiculous. But it was a great send off for Sam and it very well attended. There was some good racing and then some steady racing after the fall of snow. No-one wanting to take chances. We didnt stay for the evening entertainment although we wanted to but it was SO cold we just wanted to get home and into the warm. So a good day out and well worth the money we spent. After all no-one, not even Sam can control the weather!!!
  4. No - be positive. Any rain/hail/snow showers will be few and far between and with this wind will be over the top before you have time to pull up your hood!
  5. Reading various forecasts we should be lucky this afternoon so long as you dont mind the wind. Its an easterly wind with speeds of 30 miles per hour. It is due to lessen as the afternoon goes on but not till around 6pm when its expected to drop to about 16miles per hour. But at the same time you can expect the temperature to drop fom a high of 6 down to 1 or 2. So - layer up warm or group hug!!!
  6. and me. Have you noticed they have even bought the same jackets and there's a big variety to choose from!!!!
  7. Oh dear - what have we started. Im an affectionate kinda girl - Ill cuddle nearly anyone - but there are limits which if you cross you will know about!!! Penguins here we come and I'll have a cuddle for you Sue
  8. Not sure why you have started a new thread when you asked the question on the main sam thread and it was answered. Post number 93 http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...pic=31475&st=80
  9. Bloomin cold Sorry - serious answer - There appears to be some isolated rain showers which may pass over during the afternoon but not enough to affect the meeting. It will however be very cold - Maxium 6 degrees going down to below zero after sunset. Wrap up warm
  10. Oh dear!!!! Think you should leave this thread well alone now before it becomes even more farcical!!! I thought the Panto season was over - Oh no it isnt!!!!
  11. No - SCB is NEVER wrong - well apart from that one time!!
  12. Hehehehe - SCB is a big girlie. This is making me laugh now - how about you SCB (aka Shawn!!)
  13. So does that mean they have to forefit their place? The rules say (I believe- top two averages and not the top two available on the day) Im not trying to be funny here and I do feel sorry for BV but if the rules say only ten teams what do they say about teams that cannot field their top two. I dont know the rules and Im sure SCB or someone will enlighten me If of course the above is true and Matej wont be here and I have no reason to believe otherwise?!!!
  14. And Gemma will be very HAPPY at that news!!
  15. Are you Kev ? Are you really? You know I love you xxx
  16. and so will Kev!!! Sjl - you will have a great time like nothing else you will have ever seen before. Where else can 'rival' supporters all drink in one bar and wander round town nodding and chatting away to each other. We take over the City - you will have a great time
  17. I will claim my free drink over that wekend then sjl!!
  18. Which fixtures are you hoping to get to this year Lupus? Lupus = DreamTeam = Lupus
  19. I guess that would be the new ETAP hotel that has only just opened. Cheap and cheerful but you dont need much more thatn that really.
  20. Good Luck Wayne - you are going to need it. Oh the stories I could tell!!!!!!! and possibly will for the right money
  21. Good. I hope you have some Pins again this year Steve. I lost my 2006 one! And the stupid part is - its some where in New York!! It fell of my jacket either in my hotel or on the streets!! Bloomin Yanks - They never gave it back to me!!
  22. We chose Essen as it only a short distance from Gelsenkirchen, so we would get back to the hotel - Mercure (chosen as it has a bar!!) and do a little bit of drinking!! It also has a pool!! But there is still time for this to change!! Speigal - Im not worried about parking in Essen - I was wondering what the parking is like in Gelsenkirchen around the stadium. Sorry if I confuzzled you.
  23. We planned on using Essen as our hotel location. Maybe we should rethink if Dusseldorf is to be the speedway hang-out. Spiegal - we are driving across, what was the area around the stadium like for parking - did you notice?
