Kenny is definately no Janniro. He is a good lad with heaps of potential but I do think he may be out of his league here. (Sorry Kenny ) But the AMA must really be struggling to put a National team together at the moment. Last year there was definately a lack of funds given to the team (allegedly) and its a long way to bring across non British riding members. Cant see them going through but pleased they still managed to get a team together. I will follow with interest.

No but I do remember last year we sat in the new seaing area on bend 4. And then ended up in the main stand as you were constantly being pebble dashed or watching in a dust haze! Most of us in that seating area moved elsewhere. It was just inacceptable to sell tickets in that section!

GB Australia Poland and winner of Qualifer 1 (Germany, Hungary,Italy Slovenia ) -
Not going to use quotes from previous people but wanted to add: Tex and Mat - A 50% pay cut is a lot but what I woud like to know -what is the 2nd highest placed rider in his team being paid? Was Nicki being overpaid compared to the rest of the team. If so the deal should never have been made in the first place Rabbit - He may be on a high salary but you do still need to factor in - travel, although probably a seperate deal in the contract, mechanics, equipment and a pro-rata'ed salary over the twelve months. Stating the obvious I know but I thought it needed adding. But - if someone could answer the question about the next averaged riders then I would be able to offer a more considered opinion on whether he is over-paid or not!!!!

Big Plans At King's Lynn
Sandie replied to jktc666's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
and on so many other levels: King’s Lynn have announced that they plan to produce their own type of one-off World Speedway Final this coming season. The competition will be open to the top 16 riders from the British Elite League. Team GB boss, Rob Lyon, is a very happy man ‘I proposed it to King’s Lynn as it’s my favourite track and I see it as a way to help me with future Team GB selections, I honestly believe half the field will be made up of British riders and if it all goes well I would imagine King’s Lynn will also have a good chance of securing the World Team Cup Final in 2010. If we can achieve that then Team GB will have a great chance of winning the World Cup title which would really boost the profile of the sport in this country and give Speedway a real chance of being represented at the London Olympics in 2012.’ British Speedways Publicist and Marketing Manager, Terry Cliffard, confirmed he is already in negotiations for a big money press deal, providing the World Team Cup does come to the UK and Team GB actually win it ‘A few magazines including Hello and OK are already in talks for exclusive rights to the team story and photos, the money we earn from this will fund some newer and faster equipment for the riders and also the construction of a new head office for British Speedway bosses in central London, in actual fact we hope it will be right next door to the Football Association in Marble Arch.’ King’s Lynn boss Buster Chapman, is convinced he is doing the right thing, ‘King’s Lynn is the perfect venue and track, as soon as I knew we were going for it I put in planning permission for some temporary buildings which will hold around 5,000 people in complete luxury, we will have amenities like raised back leather sofas, 3 in 1 style hand washers , just like the ones you see in luxury fast food restaurants, and we are also proud to be having the world’s first speedway crèche, which will feature a miniature speedway track for the children to race their pedal bikes around and a ‘Briggo designed’ velvet cushioned fence for them to crash into. Hopefully World Speedway bosses will be here to see it for themselves so we can get a deal tied up as quickly as possible for the World Team Cup Final in 2010. ’ Tickets will go on sale a week today via the Official King’s Lynn Stars website. Prices start at only £20 for standing, £30 for children (including the speedway crèche) and £35 to £50 for luxury grandstand tickets. So -it starts okay, almost believable. Then starts to fail a bit with the half the field British, Goes a little bit further into dream world with Speedway ACTUAL HAVING a marketing manager who in this case happens to be Max's brother. Offices in London - yer right - I would have expected that one to be offices in Spain with weekly managemnt meetings!!! Then the thought that Chris Haris with his dashing beauty would make it into OK magazine (sorry Bomber!!) and then we reach the bottom of the barrell with leather chairs and creches!! Good try boys - but no cigars!!!! -
What a fantastic day we had. Made better by my girls spoiling me to entrance and Hamill goodies. The racing just went on and on with no break for a 'wee'!!! Ricky was excellent and just keeps improving! But race pf the night was Crump and Fisher. Jason - you were sooo mean, we wanted a Fish win!!!! A very very good meeting today bt one complaint - Why couldnt you do something about the wind, it was ruddy freezing!!! Lots of old friends re-united and some new friends met over the last few days. Brilliant
-
We said the same. But Im sure these sort of 'school boy errors' wont happen again. I know it would have been different if one of the girls had been hit, but they werent and Im sure that situation will not be repeated. However - I was impressed with the way the tractor managed to stop on the back straight when he realised that the 1 minute silence had started! Not seen a tractor do a handbrake stop before!!
-
SCB - you havent mentioned that on points only - Wato actually came third in the meeting and in GP fashion should have been in the final (GP's dont allow for the next person in the scores to replace an injured rider) and as such is the rightful 4th place on the day. And for those that dont see the good side in SCB - he walked around to where we were standing at Newport as his original line of view was directly in front of the incident and it was too much for him to stand there and witness. And remember that Craig Watson - is his favourite of favourites!!!

I will be at Newport / Swindon tomorrow but just wanted to wish everyone in Sheffield the best of luck with this meeting. An excellent start to the season. Hope you all have a great day -
You better not be too drunk tomorrow!! Agreed Tanya - good luck to the new promotion. But let us hope that before the promotion moves on to new things, that tomorow is suitable respectful of Newports recent past. (Im sure they will be) I know of one rider who is pumped up to win tomorrow - saying - "Ive got to win, its for Stoney"!!! Good luck to all at Newport - a new era begins
