Glasgow Vs Oxford play offs 26/9/23
Pirates Of Poole replied to Anzum's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That’s down to each club leaving big gaps between fixtures. Hence why the end of September should stand, it’s not other clubs fault. Pretty sure we had this issue last year with Leicester and Glasgow and waiting for a fixture to be completed. Before anyone jumps on the Poole situation i would agree if we can’t run our fixture against Edinburgh, we lose the tie. -

Interesting, let’s see if the clear rules at the start of the season will be implemented to stop the season running into November again. -

What’s the cut off for this fixture to be run? I thought it was the end of September? -
22.09.2023 - Playoff SF, Scunny vs Poole
Pirates Of Poole replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I really didn’t expect that at all, I thought a Scunthorpe win by 6-8 tonight if they rode like they did at Poole! Heat one was the wrong decision and Mountain should have gone but then Allen’s engine going while on a 5-1 worked back in our favour. Well done to the Pirates! Hope Anders is ok, if his season is now done can we sign a replacement? -

So will Adam be fit for Wednesday? -
A 2.00 pointer, look to the future and get a young up a coming British Rider. Shame Hagon on a 2.00 has now been snapped up, proved it tonight at reserve. Why don’t the club go all out for Ashton Boughen signature when he turns 16? I’m all for giving Adam a chance, but his form has been poor the last 6 weeks. If there is a better young British option out there, that’s going to score the same 3-4 points a meeting and become an asset why not?

So looking to the future, who is getting the signature of Ashton Boughen for next season?

I presume Poole will have Worrall and Rowe missing for the home match against Birmingham on the 26th? -
Tate, Jack And Zaine

Him slotting in would certainly make us stronger in my own opinion. -

Would guess the Poole management are keeping tabs on Tate and also Rew if an opportunity pops up and schedule allows. -
Oxford v Poole 21/6/23 Championship.
Pirates Of Poole replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well done Oxford you wanted it more than some of our riders! I said on Friday at Redcar, we are going to get found out when we start riding against Glasgow/Oxford as we have been carrying too many riders at times during the last month. I’m sure people won’t agree, but still think we are at least 1 maybe 2 changes away from potentially winning the league again. This current team I think will fall just short when it matters. We shall come back fighting! -
First ever visit to Redcar last night. Fantastic track and fans, very welcoming. Good meeting. Only question I had was heat 14 not having Kyle in for Adam. Kyles previous ride showed he was on the pace and got the set up. Thank fully though Adam took the 1 point. Prep probably not great for Adam who arrived at the track a lot later than the rest of the team who were already out on the track walk. Great win for the pirates. Special mention to Lawson who was brilliant all night.

Great performance from the engine room of the team yet again. Cooks and Newman absolutely riding above there current averages. Concern for Lawson and his injury surely it would make sense for him to take some time off as currently a shadow of the rider last year. Worrall again is a concern but on the plus side, the way it’s going he will be at reserve maybe.

Poole v Oxford KOC Semi 2nd leg 31st May
Pirates Of Poole replied to stevehone's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Lawson is certainly carrying an injury and it shows, but a great team effort again and the Cooks and reserves come to our rescue. Steve’s home form is a massive concern, can’t beat any away teams heat leaders consistently all season. Hope he can get it sorted otherwise our luck will run out when riders making up for him have an off night. -

Where is Anders today? -
Hoping Steve can get going as can’t seem to get any consistency with his scores. Certainly when up against teams big hitters he can’t do it currently. The way it’s going Lawson will be at 1 and Ben at 5 with Steve at 3 at some point. I know averages don’t count currently but fingers crossed he can get himself sorted.
