Poole V Birmingham 1st Leg Grand Final
Pirates Of Poole replied to pirateandi's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I would agree it makes us slightly stronger, my only concern is Newman will have 4 rides which will make us weaker in 4 heats. -
Poole V Birmingham 1st Leg Grand Final
Pirates Of Poole replied to pirateandi's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Very happy with the display from Poole last night. I never thought we would make the playoffs 3 months ago let alone the final now, whatever happens over the next 30 heats I hope speedway is the winner and all riders come through unhurt. To me we won last night, so whatever happens in the final so be it. To finish 1st or 2nd after the year we have had with injury's is just amazing, And we have finally concord Rosco after 2010/12. -

I think the sky deal will continue but only on a year by year contract. -

I say the same every year! They are sorted we are still in limbo. Our promoters are far too busy to sit round a table in the summer and actually get things sorted! -
Sheffield For Sale
Pirates Of Poole replied to RedcarRacer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A buyer will be found if not already. Like it says in the press release it is a sleeping giant. The new buyers will I'm sure take Sheffield up into the top league where they really should have been along time ago. -
Elite League 2014

Is this now a chance for Sheffield to step up into the top league of BS whatever the format will be? It is now up for sale and a sleeping giant of speedway in GB. -
Elite League 2014
Pirates Of Poole replied to Irk Deflector's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Having just read Mads comments in the KL press I have to agree with all he says. He talks about the final meeting on Wednesday at KL not knowing what will happen after that! He questions why the promoters have to wait until November to sit round a table. -
Elite League 2014
Pirates Of Poole replied to Irk Deflector's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think it will work. The clubs involved in the super league are simply teams with money and ambition. Unless you invest you cant expect a return and bringing the top riders for 5 home and 5 away meetings a season will surely increase the crowds. You only have to see the crowds Hancock has brought to away meetings. People will pay to see the worlds top riders. The basic league can be run with or without top GP riders but that would reduce costs. The super league is for teams that have ambiton and want to bring the worlds top riders over. If you want PL racing then we will have a problem, the PL wont want 10 EL clubs dropping into their league it will be far to large, a league split is not the answer. There will still be top riders who do want to race here so a mixture would work - Poole in the league 1 could have Ward, Josh, Rohan, THJ, Pawlicki jnr, Howarth and Newman for example - The super league could then run with 6 man teams such as Holder, Ward, Janowski, Pawlicki snr, KK, THJ for example. -

The promoters should all be sat round a table now discussing the future with or without sky. Leaving it to November does not help and creates more uncertainty. Maybe a more PL watered down product which includes 1 GP top rider and the rest made up of lesser riders. For example Poole, Lakeside, Wolves, Eastie, KL, Peterborough, Brummies, Leicester, Belle Vue, Coventry and Swindon ride in the new league 1. 1 GP rider per team, minimum of 3 brits per team in which 2 must be 21 or under. 1 home and 1 away - 22 matches a year. For Clubs who want to run a few more these could be run with a super league in the UK. Poole, Wolves, LS, Peterborough and BV for example - 1 home and 1 away - 10 matches a year. These teams could consist of Jonsson, Ward, Emil, Holder, Gollob, Hancock etc...... Both leagues would run a total of 32 matches a year. -
Around 6.82 for Ulamek. I would say Ljung has to be the front runner at this stage.
-
Well confirmed on the Lakeside Website their will be a new rider coming in for Ulamek. Wonder who? Jedrejak would be my bet or Ljung.

The pics I have seen of the second bend just look like a little puddle. 3.5 hours till start time Somthing could have been done. Sawdust etc - Zagar, Zorro and Artur were going to be missing though. This is not right. -

Forcast for the rest of the day is dry, sunny with a slight wind. Surely the track could have been worked on in 3.5 hours?
