Leicester 2014 . Elite
Pirates Of Poole replied to jim the whipper's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Depends who you will have in your team. KK keeps being mentioned but is a GP rider, plus after the rule reductions will Poole now need to use him? -
Difficult one but I think like you Ward will get the nod. Holder will be waiting in the wings if we need him. We could then have a more balanced team of Ward, KK/Pedersen, Bech, Zorro etc. Cant see Matt sticking with Howarth and Josh as they will want to double up if that is still available? Otherwise we will have 4 riders doubling up in the team.

Sounds like it will be no longer called the 'Elite League'

Panthers 2014
Pirates Of Poole replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Very sad news to hear. Sadly EL racing could not be supported with the amount of people coming through the gates, that is the fact. I'm sure someone will step in and make it fantastic PL/NL club and I'm sure sustainable. Its just these horrible times of just not knowing, a lot of clubs have been there. -
Tough decision but think he is going to have to pick between Ward and Holder. Matt then go for a top 3 of Ward, KK/Pedersen and Bech.

Averages are way out sadly. For a start Magnus is 4.98 and Doolan is well above a 3.00 -
Panthers 2014
Pirates Of Poole replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So Panthers have left the EL and currently not in any league. Bad day for Borough fans. I guess he did not like the changes being made. -
£500 a point, where did that rubbish come from? You telling me Hancock got paid £34,500 for a few meetings at the end of the season! He would be lucky if he was on half that amount.

No Sky Or League Sponsorship Money Etc...
Pirates Of Poole replied to Phil's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well the Pre-AGM took place yesterday so I wonder what would have been discussed? The sky talks began w/c 21/10 so I guess these are still dragging on. -
Bottom line is we won't know about Tai, Ward etc until the sky deal is sorted or not! Think there is a meeting this week with regards To a new deal.

Birmingham V Poole Grand Final 2nd Leg
Pirates Of Poole replied to pirateandi's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poole were beaten by the better team in the PO final last season, that's the end of it. We were top after the whole season but failed at finish line. Just like Birmingham have done this year. Why are we still talking about this? -
3 new old sponsors coming back?

No Sky Speedway = A New Opportunity
Pirates Of Poole replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I would happily pay £20-25 per month to watch PL and EL racing. Matt did say on the centre green after Wednesday's meeting 2 other parties have come to the table about EL racing on TV. A meeting is due with sky next week, he did say these 2 options have come up in the last 4 weeks during the playoffs. Who could they be? BT sport? So I wouldn't write off EL speedway on TV next season just yet. -

Poole V Birmingham 1st Leg Grand Final
Pirates Of Poole replied to pirateandi's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No this is not for us at the present time, after stepping back for a while we are really enjoying our speedway as fans, its far better than getting to involved. We shall be doing various things for 2014, club, riders and maybe sgp. That's a pitty would be great to see Meridian Lifts back with the Pirates again. -
Birmingham V Poole Grand Final 2nd Leg
Pirates Of Poole replied to pirateandi's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This fixture is far from certain and anyone who says it is, is completely wrong to do so. We could also have an off night like Birmingham did last night. We cant go in thinking this is won as that is when it will explode in our face, the feet need remain on the ground and focused to finish the job off. I won't be saying anything until the championship is decided by 10.30 next Monday evening who ever are the champions. -
