Glasgow Tigers 2026
Pirates Of Poole replied to SilentLurker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
When did he say this? -
12th November 1 Day conference, will be held at Rugby.
-
Too high at 9.09. Don't see how the 1 8 point rider per team needs to happen as Glasgow and Poole will be need to release a couple of the riders (Zach already one)
-
Apart from Nicholls there is no one that makes you think, they would be good. Kerr would be a bad decision, Worrall etc all past it now.
-
That team is a concern on the fact we are expecting the new comers to hit the ground running. With Zach not back, Lawson leading the team we will be very short in the other 2 HL roles, with the one over 8 being introduced that does not leave many at all left of any quality! Scotty would have been an option on a 7.88 but now he’s at Plymouth. Anders is a concern, with that in mind will we see the team made up of old school riders probably past their prime? Massive concern the other 2 HL roles. Not many riders in the averages below 8 you would think, yeah he would do a job at Poole.

Still no update from the club about Toby, sure we shall hear today, hope all is ok. Watched the meeting back, great watch with some good racing, Jody was fantastic. Still disappointed that Richard couldn't make the effort to come out for his medal in front of his fans! seems to be a trait at times in the past for him (press days) when he thinks he is bigger than our club, be professional at all times, if we won gold he would have been on the centre green. Will asked 'where is Rich' with Danny and Middlo on the stage and all looked back at the pits, I hope Matt has a quiet word in his ear as not good enough in my opinion. Again well done to Redcar you deserved the trophy.

Kerr returned to his general season form tonight, Starke poor, Tobias after the highs of heat one then finish half a lap behind in his second ride, Rowe poor again and like you say that was a wave goodbye from Zach. Major shake up for 2026. I would have concerns about Anders for next year. But some how we still managed the double, fantastic season.

Congrats to the Bears, you deserved it, fantastic team effort. Worked hard all night, we didn’t ride as a team at all.Tobias sadly, been watching it for the past 2 years and the aggressive handlebar turn caused that fall tonight instead of turning it smooth, silly move from Lawson in heat 13 and rightly excluded. Heat 14, why didn’t Zach coming out the second bend wait for Starke, instead riding 3.5 laps then on turn 4 lap 4 tried to slow the race down, should have done that from turn 1. Why wasn’t Lawson out getting his medal? Poor showing if it was gold he would have been there. Well done Redcar you deserved it tonight. Will be glad to see the back of some of those Poole riders. But on a plus the double isn’t a bad season at all, we simply run out of steam. Special mention to Jody Scott, what a trier some of the Poole riders could learn from him and glad to see Danny and Charles up and ok after heat 13 wipe out.

If Zach does not return I can’t see Bowes being at Poole. No Zach I think we would go for another rider with a slightly higher average

Not yet.

With 2026 in mind. Clearly Glasgow are going to have to off load at least 2 of their top 5 for next season to get anywhere decent under the 40 point limit (if that stays) this would enable them to get at least one strong reserve. Who can you see depart for 2026?

Thoughts with the supporters injured, speedway isn’t important right now. Watching the live Feed Allen picked up and lifted straight into pit gate fence, coming out of turn 4 at full speed with the bike hitting the fence so hard, it lifted and went over into the crowd from what I could see.

Agree he has put a point on his rolling average, watching him every week I feel he is getting stale on the Poole track. 9 times out of 10 if he is behind just follows the rider in front line for line, no attempt to even try and overtake. BV suits him well and if he wants to progress maybe a full time team in Poland will help him progress. Nothing against zach at all, he’s been a loyal servant but like riders been and gone a fresh challenge may do him good. I don’t also feel another year at Poole he will increase his average anymore, it’s gone up due to mainly been put at 4 most of the season. When it didn’t work out for Kerr at 5 Zach was next in line and that didn’t go well either hence his return to number 4, Anders has held his own at 5 thankfully but this should have been Zach’s big year to push to remain at 1 or 5 all season but hasn’t happened. Argument could be made his average went up due to riding at 4 in the team and not 5. If I went through the 2025 meetings and worked out a percentage of Zach’s heat 13 and 15 appearances, think it may be pretty low, but that’s where he needs and should be, and on that front he hasn’t progressed in 2025. My opinion and everyone is open to theirs, but that is why I don’t think being at Poole in 2026 would benefit him or the club.

Agree think it’s time for Zach to move on.

With Ipswich having 2 massive meetings next week im surprised they have allowed the booking
