  1. Had more rain this morning in centre of Poole so again probably the best decision! Roll on next Saturday for the first leg, this will be a cracker! Got a feeling it will get heated on the terraces at Oxford next Saturday! Did last meeting we were up, considering I have a season ticket for both clubs I hadn't seen it all season with any other club. Some of the language from the Oxford fans on the 4th bend side was very poor, especially with kids around! People I normally stand with are always polite and chatty. Makes for a more exciting clash and I'm sure the stadium will be packed, good business for Oxford and Poole with big gates, speedway will be the winner that's the most important thing!
  2. The forecast was for nothing like the amount of rain we have had today, a lot of local flooding. Not ideal for me as I will miss the meeting on the 9th.
  3. The way the weather is and coming into October lets hope we can get all the finals in!
  4. A lot of very heavy rain in Poole today which wasn't due, with a load due in over night probably the best decision.
  5. Looking at getting the age reduced to 15 for all teams going forward. If not it will be end of June before he can ride in the Championship. Bit daft as he can ride NDL at 15 in UK for Belle Vue.
  6. Maybe Max again? Vinnie will be 3.90 but I would say worth the risk.
  7. I think Bomber brings something different at home against Oxford. When we lost in August at home I felt our top 3 gave far too much space and respect to Masters and Nicholls which wasn't given back that night! something I hope won't happen again. With Bomber he will push/nudge and I think Masters and Nicholls will struggle to contain him.
  8. Could Vinnie revert back to his 2.00 average due to NR grade? Also good to hear Will Cairns has signed his Championship contract for 2025
  9. Cowley, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom Hourly Weather | AccuWeather This has a slightly better outlook for tomorrow.
  10. This is what happens sadly when you are trying to run 3 finals last week of September going into October, weather starts to play its part and we spend more time worrying about that than the actual exciting meeting about to happen.
  11. Think the weather will change a lot over the next 24 hours so we shall see. Same with Poole Friday, prep the tracks knowing rain is around and take all the heavy dirt off. Oxford did it at the first match of the season against Birmingham that I went to and worked well.
  12. Think Starke would be a solid number 7 on his average
  13. If Brennan and Ben deicide not return to championship racing in 2025 Poole will be in the market for a new HL. Rowe would be a good second string but will he want to return to Poole?
  14. It will see a further weakened watered down league in 2025 as it has been done in 2023 & 2024. Where we lost Danny then Steve etc but managed to find riders who could step up along with reserves on low averages increasing their starting average.
  15. Plus a BSN final to also get into the schedule. So that is likely to take us to the 23rd October and likely 30th October as I'm sure the rain will play a further part in delays. It's not a knock at Oxford at all, The Championship just never seems to get its self in gear and get everything done by end of September! fair flay to the Prem which have, which was down to no movement on the cut off by a further week.
  16. So the other team will have to wait a further week to w/c 23rd for the next action! Why don't Oxford run on Monday? Spires side do at times so won't be a massive issue. Again we shall be running the finals the last week of September going well into October when the lovely British weather comes out to play!
  17. Poole's top 4 certainly came to the party last night and Vinnie made a solid comeback after being race rusty. Lawson looked mighty impressive as did Tom. 14 points will be enough I'm sure but if we do go through the next team awaiting us will be a different beast! That is what concerns me and the feeling of 2023 again with riders going well off form at the wrong time! No disrespect to Comets heat leaders and top end power but Oxford and Scunthorpe bring more clout on that front. If one of our top 3 have an off night against Masters, Nicholls, Howarth etc and the bottom end don't turn up, we will be in trouble like the Oxford meeting at home and watching them last night that is massive concern! I don't know the answer, the Tuesday practice sessions don't seem to be helping the lower order. I hope I'm proved wrong and the bottom end all click for the last 4 meetings of the season! Come on you Pirates! Treble is on!
  18. A few riders out on track, obviously Vinnie at present having a practice.
