14 teams tells me there’s will be no national league.
-
That is the question!!
-
Thought I may as well start it now. Application will be put in for us to run in the championship in 2020.
-
For me I will support it & go each week, but not too happy. What was the points limit for championship? 38 this year? feel a long tail coming on! the product was made very weak last year due to costs! On a plus side the south coast derby is back on with Eastie!!
-
No it isn't and the club if they were completely honest would see it too. 1. Didn't stop me going but I met 3 people at the Wimborne Whoppa grass track meeting who said not bringing Chris Harris back was the last hurdle for them and they have been going for over 20 years! how many more people had that view? He may not win every race but he entertained them! 2. Poor track conditions, which I know a lot of money has been spent over the past 3 years which clearly has not worked - Get that right and people will return. The Good Friday meeting this year done the business damage with some new fans going for the first time plus others not returning who have been going regular. 3. Losing some major sponsors & clearly the carpet company going bust owing us thousands has not helped! I can name some more too..... Its all about the bigger picture!

Peterborough Panthers 2020

Which team is going down, there is only 7! -
When Linus returned last year he got a reduction I thought?
-
Their logo didn't last too long, its gone again! so cant see No1 carpet cleaning company being involved at all next year, I have also heard a new company is now close to agreeing a deal to become main team sponsors and inject some cash into the club.
-
Plus will Chris Holder get a reduction on his 7.16 average for not riding here for a few years?
-
I think there would be an interest if more ‘top’ poles returned to UK racing.
-
So according to Middlo, team plans for 2020 is well underway!
-
14-17th November I heard but could be wrong!
-
Will Chris Holder have a work permit by then? I would certainly have Bomber!

Kings Lynn v Poole. Prem 19/9/19
Pirates Of Poole replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Congrats to Poole for finishing top of the league :) Looking forward to some very tough play off meetings ahead, the first hurdle being Ipswich who will be a different animal Monday. It’s not going to be easy over 2 legs but I hope we can push on and reach the final. -

Poole have chosen Ipswich in the semi final. -
BT’s loss, they wouldn’t have had to put a massive amount more on the table. They knew the Eurosport offer and could have easily matched it. I don’t believe the polish sponsors will materialise.

Big decisions in November.

Somerset look very likely now and maybe Sheffield depending on the new owners there. -
In the 5 year deal I hope there is a clause that allows clubs to live feed, obviously not when Eurosport are at the stadium. We were restricted with the Sky deal as they would not allow any live streaming.
-
More competition for Sky & BT is always good. Eurosport is more of a free channel so more people will be able to watch without the high monthly charges of Sky Sports & BT Sports.

I think we will do ok! It’s going to be tough, Swindon & Wolves are coming into great form at the right time, but if we all click on the night anything is possible. This year has been interesting, with Matt’s interests elsewhere and Danny’s maiden year I think he has taken his eye off the ball when it comes to riders available. I know for a fact that our riders have approached Matt with recommendations for possible replacements for Ritchie. Some we’re blocked because of Poland and others not considered. Wells isn’t a rider Poole would normally go for, money comes into play I know but don’t think THJ comes cheap even though he was riding at Berwick too!! For me he was a risk and at present a risk that isn’t paying off, he simply isn’t the rider he was. I think we have been spoilt over the years with riders, and when the eye is taken off the prize at times it shows up much more!
