If the Fords feel it wouldn't be a financial gain then we have to respect that, if it's right or wrong. Some Poole fans want us in the Premiership some want Championship and that is the way it is. I won't hide the fact I feel we should be back at the top table, where we spent 19 years but that's my opinion. The club lost money in 2019 for the first time in that period, down to a race night change, a main sponsor that never paid (maybe more checks should have been done on the business and I'm sure that would happen now) and the fact for the first time we could not attract top riders to the UK to ride for Poole, we ended up with a very young Jack Holder and Brady Kurtz at 1 & 5 which was too much pressure on young shoulders, against a team like Swindon who had Doyle, Batch, Jensen, Musielak. That would of had an effect on the gates as people support winning teams and that applies in every sport sadly, your winning everyone wants to get involved! I know Matt at the time was trying to get a top GP rider in but they wouldn't come for the money offered and that may of got the fringe supporters to make the effort to go and watch the side then. I would say when Matt first took the club on in 1999, it was all about getting the club back to winning and doing all he could to do that as well as making money like every business should ! the last 5 years it's more making sure we/they make money and a decent profit based on riding in a lower league, as he isn't willing to put his own money into the club to rescue it if it got into trouble. Personally if it was me I would look back at the past 24 years and the life style the club has given him and maybe look at not willing to help if required. I know the club was up for sale 5 years ago, no one come forward hence why Danny got more involved, reasons why? valuation of the club maybe? But if some people want Premiership then I feel that won't be with the Fords in charge now, it would need to come from a new person getting involved and the club being valued at a 'realistic' value to take it on to make that happen. End of the day it's Matt Fords business, he can do what he see's fit to make money and run it how he wants. Supporters and potential sponsors also have that choice to invest or watch the team weekly based on what's being put in front of them or they choose not to invest or go on a regular basis.

Great evening as already said, Anders was on our table and was great to hear how he is already prepared for 2025 and riding for Poole. Confident he will be end the season as our second HL. I'm sure some exciting news will be coming in the next couple of weeks with the final 2 signings.

And sadly that is true! With my Poole hat on Brennan is replaced by Lewi, Brennan is the much better rider, Ben Cook is replaced by Zach or Anders, Ben is a much better rider than those. Poole had to lose 7 points which I don't dispute that is the rules made by all clubs at the AGM. Admission will increase again in 2025 I'm sure for all clubs as costs have increased. But anyone that tells me the team coming to tapes in 2025 and the one that finished 2024 at Poole is a better product are living in a different universe. It is a weaker product on offer, I will still go but please don't tell me its the same or better as it isn't! Back to Glasgow if the team is as predicted, they will start as favourites for 2025. Entertaining team that will put a show on for the fans on a great race track. Good luck in 2025

Certainly his head, worry is he never learnt from his mistakes. Heat 1 going to the boards when in a scoring position and went backwards! or in heats during a meeting, on a slick track go to the boards and go backwards. I'm no speedway rider but surely watching other riders and lines between heats would help! I certainly wouldn't want to see him at Poole in 2025, for me he become frustrating to watch the last 3 months, as continued doing the same mistakes meeting after meeting.

I wouldn't but on his average you would hope he can score 5-7 each meeting from number 6. Knows all the tracks etc

I would guess Poole may look something like this for 2025 1. Lawson 9.17 2. 5.37? New 5.00 rider to UK? Mikkel .B. Andersen? 3. Zach Cook 6.23 4. Anders Rowe 6.11 5. Lewy Kerr 7.76 6. Paul Starke 3.36 7. Will Cairns 2.00/Another until the summer. Zach really need to step up next year as he hasn't this year (started 2024 with an average of 6.22) Again for me the product is weaker again, losing Ben and Tom and replacing with Kerr & Rowe. Banking on Kerr and Rowe improve but in a weaker league with less top riders they should certainly improve.

Poole will have some re-building to do. Tom will be following Ben out of Poole, so the management will have to pull some rabbits out of the hat to replace the quality of those 2. I'm sure more will become clear after next Monday. Clearly it's still being discussed on here, but sadly when you don't move up riders like Ben and Tom move on, that is the Fords choice. I wish them the best of luck for 2025 onwards and looking forward to seeing their progress for years to come.

Well that's not true as I haven't seen that at Prem meetings! to be honest its putting me off getting another season ticket at Oxford in 2025 to watch the Premiership. To be fair the way the league structure is next year likely to be in the Champ and the fact we will lose our 2 stars (I hope I'm wrong) for the first time in 30 years I may not get a season ticket at Poole and chose to pick and choose my meetings but go and see our sponsored riders at their new tracks in the Prem in 2025.

Well done to Oxford, well deserved victory and a decent lead to take to Poole. I would have taken 8-10 before the night started so 12 could be a little too much with Masters and Nicholls in heat 13 & 15 at Poole. For some reason our top 3 can't get near them most of this season and that showed last night. It will be a cracker Wednesday for sure, Poole can't afford to carry anymore riders again. Like Steve said Hagon and Tobias went off the boil around 2 months ago and have never showed the early season form, could staying loyal cost us a league title again like 2023? only time will tell. Vinnie gave his all and hope he is ok after taking a heavy fall. Massive crowd and the most important thing, speedway was the winner!

Yes! there is a cluster of small Oxford fans to the left of the old pits wall on bend 4. Last time Poole were up it was the same, hand gestures and bad language when I left again last night, it must be Poole! as when I came up for every Prem meeting this year they were quiet! The Oxford fans around us on bend 3 were great, banter but respectful.

It depends how long the deal is offered to Will!!! it's not a 6 month deal!

That's over the 38 point limit! more of a worry that's a weaker team but still you would be over the limit!

If that's the team, the next time someone tells me the product hasn't got weaker on show again for another year will be getting a mouth full! Poor!
