  1. The Pardubice semi was cancelled because of a lack of participating nations for the European Pairs this year. May have to do with the venue for the final, which is Balakovo in Russia. Therefore the one semi-final round is enough this year. Three (or four?) nations are seeded directly to the final, and the others have to qualify from the Terenzano semi-final round.
  2. Certainly not. This meeting has been cancelled and will not be held at all !
  3. It's a shame that there is no TV coverage of the FIM sidecar speedway events, not even any YouTube video footage from Gillman of the World Cup or the Oceania Championships. It was also quite sad that there were only four non-Aussie competitors in these two meetings, three Kiwis, and the one American, but no British this year. Headland rerpesenting France is a bit of a joke, really. There is also a rumour that Gillman won't stage these FIM sidecar events next season. Does anyone know, if true, where they will be going, or if they will be held at all ? New Zealand perhaps?
  4. The Wroclaw track was really poor for many a year, but is now pretty good since the Stadium renovations.
  5. The meeting on Easter Monday 2019 at Rzeszow will be the tenth POLAND vs REST OF THE WORLD (POLSKA vs RESZTA SWIATA) Speedway Test Match. Poland has five wins so far, RoW has four wins. All meetings took place in Poland. Dates/Venues/Results so far: 1994, April 30, at Warsaw (Gwardia Stadium): POLAND 36, RoW 72 2001, May 27, at Czestochowa: POLAND 45, RoW 63 2011, October 16, at Torun: POLAND 47, RoW 44 2012, April 14, at Gorzow: POLAND 47, RoW 45 2014, October 12, at Rybnik: POLAND 40, RoW 50 2015, October 10, at Lublin: POLAND 54, RoW 36 2016, May 15, at Warsaw (National Stadium): POLAND 44, RoW 46 2017, April 2, at Zielona Gora: POLAND 46, RoW 44 2018, September 1, at Chorzow: POLAND 46, RoW 44 2019, April 22, at Rzeszow: POLAND vs RoW http://www.internationalspeedway.co.uk/polvrow.htm
  6. Certainly not a "poor" team, they will be a match for the much overrated Poles. By the way, who replaces the injured Hampel in the Poland Team?
  7. Way back in 1995 - Sidecar speedway racing at the famous Sydney Showground - those were the days !

  12. "Sportowy Fakty" claims 14,500 at Zielona v Torun and 16,000 at Czestochowa vs Gorzow Massive crowds anyway for these opening couple of league meeting.
  13. Just like Josef Angermüller of Reading, most of the 1970s/80s Germans in the British League are pretty much forgotten now, like Carsten Pelzmann of Middlesbro, Peter Würterle of Reading, Georg Hack of Ipswich, Hans Wassermann of Reading, or Gerd Uhlenbrock of Coventry, and probably some others whom I have forgotten about.
  14. I'd rather say it was a typical Pawlicki fall, like he has performed many times. Certainly nothing to justify Darcy Ward's twitter comment, what's wrong with him? There nothing dirty about Nicki's riding in this race.
  15. Zielona Gora v Leszno March 21, 2019 Heat 13 (Starts at 1:54.00) Pedersen (blue) vs Pawlicki (yellow)
  16. ö=oe (in the German Alphabet) His name in German is Schröck, which can alternatively be wirtten as Schroeck (which is accepted as correct spelling), or You can just leave the two dots out and then Your get the name as Schrock (which is not quite the correct spelling). Same as with Michael Härtel, which in English should be written as Haertel, but is often written Hartel. Egon Müller, should actually always been Egon Mueller in (English), but is usually referred to as Egon Muller.
