  2. Posted my thoughts on Kent on their thread. Looked top 4 material to me, though I've not seen Brummies or Cradley yet this season. Definitely looks a close scrap for that 4th spot.
  3. He rode well, impressive performance for one so young. Certainly looks to have a bright future in the sport.
  4. As I expected, the Kings gave the Colts their toughest home examination of the season. Davey was an excellent guest, Stoneman started strongly too. Thomas was lively, led Bewley briefly in one race & beat Smith in an excellent heat as well. Don't think he was too happy with Hopwood getting in his way in his 2nd ride though! Reserves were always in the mix, really impressed by young Rowe, looks an exciting prospect. On that showing Kent look a top 4 side, no question.
  5. Hope Hopwood is fit enough to race tomorrow night, goes well at our place. Stoneman was really good round the NSS last season & really looking forward to seeing Thomas again, as well as young Rowe for the first time. Expecting a Colts win, but definitely no 60 points this time, anticipate a strong showing from the Kings despite the side being hit by injury.
  6. Brilliant meeting on a superb track, really flowed too with all heats done & dusted within roughly 2 & quarter hours. Can't wait for Friday's raceoff, expect the Russians & Latvians to push the Aussies close round Leszno. What price another raceoff, this time between Saifutdinov & Doyle for a place in the Final - here's hoping!!
  7. Top drawer speedway that heat 6,heat 7 just as good too - this is much more like it, excellent stuff!
  8. Nothing wrong with wanting the best result possible for GB, merely painting an alternative scenario for debate. I wouldn't have had a problem with King (always enjoy watching him race btw) being involved in the side & Lambert at reserve for the flexibility it might offer, certainly when looking at next Saturday night. My impressions of Steve Worrall, albeit only gained from seeing him & listening to him at my club, he seems to have a grounded attitude & a desire to improve. Purely my opinion, if he got withdrawn after one bad ride, I'd be amazed if he didn't take it on the chin & muck in with the other lads. If we are building for 2018 onwards I would stick with Worrall, who has made major progress over the last 2 years or so. If the end game is the best result next weekend on a big fast track then I understand people wanting King selected. More importantly, what will Rosco do? I think he'll stick to his guns, rightly or wrongly. We'll see.

  10. Got sympathy with both sides of the argument here. If Worrall does draw a blank from 5 rides you could certainly draw that conclusion. However purely playing devils advocate for a minute... What if Worrall draws massive inspiration & confidence from the faith shown in him by Rosco. He learns from seeing what's going on in the pits on a World Cup Final night, struggles but out there racing in that company in front of 20,000 fans. He then goes away in the winter & comes back in 2018 making the sort of steps Cook has made this year, & that Fricke has made in Sweden & Poland this season. That 00000 might not have seemed that bad after all.
  11. I would have no problem with that - remember one of the best SWC races I've seen live there, involved Crump, Zagar & Miedzinski. Early 2000's I think. EDIT:2009 Professional performance from Team GB tonight, can only beat what's put in front of you. Saturday night at Leszno will be a huge test for the GB lads, massive learning experience for most of them. A bronze medal would be a right result. Poland way too good anywhere right now, especially there.

  13. It's a really good point you make SCB. Nat is a massive Aces fan, she was down at Lakeside & Wolves last year stood with us travelling Belle Vue fans in the playoffs on her nights off. She puts all that to one side though on camera, very professional. Young lady with a very bright future. On track, well pleased Aces won, but what's going on with that race surface? Been a few times to Poole, I like the track shape, it's so bumpy & dusty though! Must be a nightmare for a home rider facing that every week, however much Ford pays them.
  14. Hope I'm wrong fancy 48-42 Pirates win. Think Poole superiority at reserve will see them through, this time... At the rate young Dan Bewley is progressing it won't be long before the double figures scores come. Haven't been as excited watching a young British racer since Kenny Carter. The kid is class.
  15. Like the general set up at Leicester, imo one of the more friendly venues I've been to in the UK. My 2nd visit. Fair play to them trying to make changes to the track, still seems really difficult to pass on. Two examples that I recall were Nilsson behind Morris (ht 13?) & Bates behind Sedgeman. Both seemed to be carrying far more speed but just one inner line & couldn't get by. Think Grajczonek may think the same Will be back for the B fixture, the makeup of the Aces team I'll be supporting that night is anyone's guess. Hopefully an Aces win & Cookie qualified for GP 2018.
  16. It's a fair point you make, you might be right, though I was thinking the same about when Lynn come to Belle Vue the following Wednesday. Deservedly won up here last season, Stars will be a tough nut for us to crack this season too.
  17. I thought that too R&R. Thinking back it reminds me a little bit of Somerset's track, albeit a smaller version. Pretty sure Matej Zagar & Bomber Harris were in Trelawny colours the night I was there. Can't remember how banked it was, can remember how cold it was - after a warm sunny day too, freezing! What a fabulous setting in which to watch speedway, spectacular!
  18. Having a good season, would be great to see Lawson carry that form into Monday night in Manchester - might be an awkward tv interview on the cards for Rosco if he does!
  19. Wouldn't expect many Pirates fans up here on a Friday night. Fair play to SS for making the trip up last night. Other than Wolves in the playoff final last year, no teams bring many fans to the NSS. Best away followings so far have been Brummies & Cradley for their matches against the Colts.
  20. In the post match press conference, Lemo was talking about guests for our matches at Rye & Leicester this week but was bit of a struggle to hear him. Was it Brady Kurtz at Rye, Morris & Grajczonek at Leicester? Also will Bewley & Smith be available for Leicester? Thanks in advance.
  21. Excellent post GB, meeting well summed up. Poole were quality 2nd half of the match, Bjerre & Fricke had to scrap hard to rescue a point for the Aces in heat 15. As mentioned in previous post, took 3 newbies tonight, they loved it. One coming back for the Wolves match, the other 2 booking table for upcoming meeting to entertain guests for the business I work for. Really enjoyable night.
  22. Great news that Andersen can now race at Belle Vue. With Batch & a bang in form Brady Kurtz backing Hans tomorrow night, I expect them to give our top 3 a real run for their money. Weather forecast set fair, has the makings of being a cracking meeting, I'm taking 3 speedway newbies to the match, should be a decent intro to our great sport for them. Think the Aces will win a close one, Pirates to take a point.
  23. Subject to fixture clashes & injuries, imo with respect it's tough to see even the stronger NL sides getting within 20 points of this Colts side at the NSS. Come playoff time, I could see Eastie or Lakeside with strong home track advantage building a 12 point lead over BV pending their trip to Manchester. That'd give the Colts work to do. Back on topic, should be an entertaining match on Monday, can envisage a 45-45 on the cards.
