Cracking race between Pedersen & Iversen in heat 6, excellent stuff. Heat 7 with Pepe, Milik & Kildemand none too shabby either. Really like the Kumla track, serves up good racing more often than not.

Belle Vue Aces Vs Poole Pirate 31/07
mikec replied to SCB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Have to agree. He's on the pace, think the top league is a year too early for him but we'll stick by him & he'll kick on next year. What makes it extra tough for him imo is being similar age to Bewley & probably getting frustrated he's not progressing at the same rate. Jack will forge a decent career, the kid has talent. I suggest his dad will be urging him to be patient, not a trait most teenagers have. -

Really fair & accurate review HT. Heat 14 was a brilliant race, didn't think Kennett rode a bad race either,Tungate & Bewley just weren't gonna be denied. Plenty of other great action. Thought Jack Smith scored the hardest earned zero of the season in heat 4 when Lahti pipped him on the line. Loved heat 1 too, Bewley rode a stormer to pass Andersen, only for Andersen to re-pass him with a hard but fair move. Was one of those 'master & pupil' moments for me. Dan will have learnt plenty from that. -
Belle Vue Aces Vs Poole Pirate 31/07

It's not. Shame really, as our clashes with the Pirates have served up some cracking racing. Decent weather forecast so we should be on. See Holder's had a good day at Leszno, if he brings that form to Manchester it could be close. Know Poole have had a turbulent spell, experience tells me never write Poole off. -
Share your enjoyment Paulco watching the lads develop, me through their exploits with the Aces and the Colts. Wouldn't have any problem with Dan & Jack having another season with Glasgow. Would allow Jack to develop into a decent second string & Dan into a 3rd heat leader slot. I've always tried to avoid getting carried away about young riders & what they may or may not do. Finding that tough though with Bewley. The intelligent lines he chooses & the speed he generates, he is a very special talent. When he perfects his gating, speedway world better watch out!

Can only echo the sentiment of previous posts regarding heats 13 & 15,brilliant racing from Dan Bewley & Danny Ayres. To quote Kelv it was definitely speedway "out of the top drawer", well done lads! Surely one of those races should turn up on the speedway GB website. Both heats were a credit to the NL.

No excuses, Swindon were terrific from top to bottom tonight. Great set ups, sharp gating, rode intelligent lines, deserved win. I'd never seen BWD race before, one way to leave a lasting impression! From a GB point of view, Ellis looked a different rider from the rider pootling round at the back for the Pirates here last year. Not too many calling for him to be dropped now (unlike 3 months ago). On that form, see you's again in September.....

Blimey Kent have had terrible luck with injury this season. I enjoy watching Nathan Stoneman, hope he makes a speedy recovery & is back racing soon.

Supportive tweet to Worrall from Woffinden. Clear Tai was watching, if it benefits Stevie going forward in some way then it benefits his clubs & ultimately his country. For the record I'm no Woffinden apologist. Been put off by his seemingly arrogant attitude over last couple of years. On the other side can see merits in his frustration at the BSPA too. Let's not burn the bridge to him, love him or not, what he does works. -
Speedway World Cup 2017

Rare I agree with you SS, I do on this. GB seemed to have no idea how to get the power down to the granite dust surface. Zero drive. We all know someone who does, don't we? Time for Tai & all relevant parties re GB speedway to get round a table & sort their differences out. Not only for the current GB team, but to assist the development of the likes of Wajknecht, Bewley, Perks et al coming through on to the international scene. -

Posted my thoughts on Kent on their thread. Looked top 4 material to me, though I've not seen Brummies or Cradley yet this season. Definitely looks a close scrap for that 4th spot.
-
He rode well, impressive performance for one so young. Certainly looks to have a bright future in the sport.

As I expected, the Kings gave the Colts their toughest home examination of the season. Davey was an excellent guest, Stoneman started strongly too. Thomas was lively, led Bewley briefly in one race & beat Smith in an excellent heat as well. Don't think he was too happy with Hopwood getting in his way in his 2nd ride though! Reserves were always in the mix, really impressed by young Rowe, looks an exciting prospect. On that showing Kent look a top 4 side, no question.
-
Hope Hopwood is fit enough to race tomorrow night, goes well at our place. Stoneman was really good round the NSS last season & really looking forward to seeing Thomas again, as well as young Rowe for the first time. Expecting a Colts win, but definitely no 60 points this time, anticipate a strong showing from the Kings despite the side being hit by injury.

Brilliant meeting on a superb track, really flowed too with all heats done & dusted within roughly 2 & quarter hours. Can't wait for Friday's raceoff, expect the Russians & Latvians to push the Aussies close round Leszno. What price another raceoff, this time between Saifutdinov & Doyle for a place in the Final - here's hoping!! -

Nothing wrong with wanting the best result possible for GB, merely painting an alternative scenario for debate. I wouldn't have had a problem with King (always enjoy watching him race btw) being involved in the side & Lambert at reserve for the flexibility it might offer, certainly when looking at next Saturday night. My impressions of Steve Worrall, albeit only gained from seeing him & listening to him at my club, he seems to have a grounded attitude & a desire to improve. Purely my opinion, if he got withdrawn after one bad ride, I'd be amazed if he didn't take it on the chin & muck in with the other lads. If we are building for 2018 onwards I would stick with Worrall, who has made major progress over the last 2 years or so. If the end game is the best result next weekend on a big fast track then I understand people wanting King selected. More importantly, what will Rosco do? I think he'll stick to his guns, rightly or wrongly. We'll see. -

Got sympathy with both sides of the argument here. If Worrall does draw a blank from 5 rides you could certainly draw that conclusion. However purely playing devils advocate for a minute... What if Worrall draws massive inspiration & confidence from the faith shown in him by Rosco. He learns from seeing what's going on in the pits on a World Cup Final night, struggles but out there racing in that company in front of 20,000 fans. He then goes away in the winter & comes back in 2018 making the sort of steps Cook has made this year, & that Fricke has made in Sweden & Poland this season. That 00000 might not have seemed that bad after all. -

I would have no problem with that - remember one of the best SWC races I've seen live there, involved Crump, Zagar & Miedzinski. Early 2000's I think. EDIT:2009 Professional performance from Team GB tonight, can only beat what's put in front of you. Saturday night at Leszno will be a huge test for the GB lads, massive learning experience for most of them. A bronze medal would be a right result. Poland way too good anywhere right now, especially there.
