I saw on Twitter that they had been in Poland recently "testing". It would seem it didn't work - back to the drawing board! No such problems for Scott Nicholls, enjoying an Indian summer, 11 points. Let's see what Messrs Ward, Sajfutdinov & co have in store today, a hot reception from the ZG fans guaranteed after last year's playoff farce.

Belle Vue Aces Vs Poole Pirates 28/04/2014
mikec replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Close match in prospect. True that Holder hasn't hidden his feelings about the Aces track in the past. Despite that he's won plenty of races at Kirky Lane in some style. Looking forward to watching Milik race live for the first time. Josh G is usually good at Belle Vue, Janowski & Pawlicki know how to win races there too. If Newman isn't fit then I'm sure Matt Ford will find a suitable track specialist guest reserve. So it promises be a stiff challenge for the Aces, Zagar & Nicholls have been outstanding at home, though Cook & Worrall have only shown flashes of their best form. Palm Toft & Nielsen's home performances have compensated well there in the opening two matches. Prediction - a 47-43 home win. -
Great move from Holder there, when he regains full fitness/sharpness this Torun juggernaut will take some stopping. Awesome display from Darcy Ward tonight. Bit disappointed again by Troy Batchelor, he seems to have hit a glass ceiling progress-wise. Good to see Daria back on the League coverage on a regular basis too.

Credit to Kings Lynn, impressed by Porsing & Lambert & the two Lewis's will boss other reserve pairings round Saddlebow Road this season as they did ours tonight. If the Stars can get Schlein firing then they'll take some stopping. For the Aces, Zagar was outstanding & Nicholls good value early on too. Good to see Palm Toft contributing well for a guy on a 3.00, quietly doing a solid job. Never really thought we'd get anything tonight, Aces must be targeting full points at the likes of Brum, Cov & Leicester. Do that & win all the home matches then a top 4 spot won't be too far off. And compared to recent seasons that'd be a step in the right direction.

Kenneth Bjerre looking very quick tonight, back to the form he was showing two or three years ago. Credit to the Lions for the fight they've put up, the loss of G Laguta & MJJ would hurt most clubs. Hopefully both are fully fit asap. Some class racing this weekend, not to mention the big upset at Gdansk. Welcome back Ekstraliga!

Wow, what a result for Gdansk! The bookies reckoned a 20 point Torun win. Well pleased for Artur Mroczka, had a terrible time with my team, a hero today though. Excellent racing in the Wroclaw/Gorzow match. Now for the main event at Leszno - with Pedersen, Laguta, Holta we should be in for a great match.

Mads is a good choice of guest for the Robins, hopefully Hans is fit enough to do himself justice replacing Zagar. Close match on the cards - my money on a 46-44 either way - reserves to decide which way the win goes imo.
