Zagar To The Gp 2006!
Joester replied to DavidH's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If the BSI are saying that the problem with the qualification rounds are that riders like Tomasz Chrzanowski can get through into the Grand Prix's, why did they give riders like him a chance to qualify for the GP's?? Why don't they only give GP quality riders a chance -
Krsko is Zagar's track!! He is the track record holder!! He probably knows the quickest way around there!! And at Lonigo he didn't get into the final then, if he did I would agree that he does deserve a GP place.
-
I have two things to say to that: 1. What a surprise your a Reading fan! 2. He wasn't bad then was he (a three time british champion isn't going to be slow, is he)
-
I don't think he will be, I think Zagar will! I'm still not convinced by Zagar. I've only seen him ride twice but those two times he doesn't look grand prix quality. I saw him at the ASL Freight challenge trophy, he got 6 points (not grand prix quality to me) he also got beaten by riders like Dean Barker and Henning Bager (again not really grand prix quality to me). I also saw him at the PLRC at Sheffield where he scored 6 points (yet again not really grand prix quality to me) and lost to riders like Magnus Zetterstrom, Adrian Rymel, Craig Boyce and Shane Parker. I think in two years he could be a Grand Prix, he needs some Elite League experience first. I think he will do well in the Slovenian Grand Prix but thats it! I'm not doubting that he's a good speedway rider but he's not ready for the Grand Prix's yet! If there was a qualifing system he wouldn't have got through!

I reckon next years line-up will be: 1 Rickardson 2 Crump 3 N Pedersen 4 Adams 5 Hancock 6 Gollob 7 B Pedersen 8 Hampel 9 Jonsson 10 Nicholls 11 Lindback 12 Andersen 13 Richardson 14 Zagar - they wouldn't have given him the Italian Wild Card if they didn't plan to use him next year 15 Stead (after the SWC I think he has a good chance) / Norris / P Karlsson / Iversen
-
If you watch the replay again you will see that the back of his bike definately knocked his arm and I think he just hit Gollobs leg but I agree with you about him getting excluded because of his name not how he rode.
-
But they both had reasons to be excluded to be honest. Gollob for falling off when he had plenty of space to ride around Nicki. But Pedersen did knock his arm and leg. I think its a close call really, I personally would have excluded Gollob, but I guess because the ref was Polish he didn't get excluded.

This Years Gp Wild Cards
Joester replied to Joester's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'm not saying he should be in the GP's I'm saying that he could be a future GP rider. No-one gets my point. -
This Years Gp Wild Cards
Joester replied to Joester's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
For the Italian GP they should have a rider of a nationality that doesn't have a grand prix, like having an Aussie, a german, a Finn etc etc -
This Years Gp Wild Cards
Joester replied to Joester's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
But I'm saying that they shouldn't pick riders that used to be in the GP's because we all know that riders like Rune Holta, Mikael Max, David Norris and Ales Dryml are capable of in the GP's, they should have had riders like Chris Harris, Jonas Davidsson and Erik Andersson, future Grand Prix riders. -
Is it just me or are some/most of the wild card choices a bit crap this year. Surely they should be picking future grand prix riders not ex-gp riders. I think there has only been two decent choies, Matej Zagar and Niels-Kristian Iversen, all the rest of the wild cards have been really poor choices.
-
I would have put Jonsson through because he beat both Crump and Adams in heat 10, but rules are rules and Crump went through

New Gp Race Format - Good Or Bad?
Joester replied to Storming Norman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think that the new format is to fair, riders aren't trying as hard as they can because they know that they're not going to be eliminated, so they don't seem to push for the next place. This make the racing really boring upto about heat 15. I say change it back to the other system!!! -
i bet coventry will turn it down for some stupid reason, like for stock cars or something
