Poole Pirates Vs Lakeside Hammers 6/4/16
NickRushbrook replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not sure this fixture will spring many surprises tbh. A predictably large home win with perhaps a little resistance offered by AJ and Ed. The return on Friday should be closer as I think our top 5 are a match for Pooles around the raceway. Think the reserves could be a deciding factor. -

So Adam Ellis CAN ride the track. Hmmmmm..... -
Lakeside V Leicester 1st April

If Adam Ellis scores well in the next two fixtures at Lakeside then it will simply confirm what I have thought for much of the last two seasons. That being that he was not applying himself correctly and putting in the necessary work to master a track that should have been his bread and butter. -
Nilsson was very impressive. Chased and PASSED NKI. Only one performance at home so without wanting to get carried away, looked a number 1 in the making. AJ will have better meetings whilst the two Lewis' will continue to improve so looking good for the Hammers!

I'm just pleased that after last season, we are thinking long term. You can never guarantee anything of course but only positive vibes are coming from the club at the moment.
-
To be fair, Jon was very upfront with his concerns for the future towards the end of the season so it's not like he is one for trying to gloss things over in that respect.
-
There really is no point predicting the league table. As we know, injuries sadly play a big part during the course of the season and in recent times, Lakeside have suffered more than most. I'm just looking forward to some entertaining racing once again and I think our team will provide at least that.

Pint of BOTHERED please barman.....

I came across the following link which shows you are correct! https://www.flickr.com/photos/70179951@N03/6921328007/ Here are the Hammers of 1984 in their original race jackets.

Been watching a fair bit of him on YouTube recently and am aware he retired to become an actor. I wasn't aware however that he was so young. Was there ever any talk of a comeback etc?
-
Matt Ford I imagine is the annoying spoilt brat in the room who simply won't shut up until the weak minded parents (or promoters in this case) give in and let him have all his sweets! Such is the case I suspect with Buzskowski.
-
I feel Robert could be a trump card for us as it happens. Strongest tier 2 rider with Boxhall imo.
-
When you look at some of the riders on that list, the fact that Buzskowski is not on it is simply criminal! I'm not a Poole hater. In fact I just enjoy the racing element and care a lot less about results these days. I really do believe that the other promotions just throw their arms in the air and say 'just let them (Poole) do what they want'. Think the promotions and fans alike aren't really fussed any more.
-
About 6.16 left for the final rider. Not sure Richard Lawson will return which is a shame. I wonder of we could get someone like Jedrezak. Or perhaps more likely, Peter Ljung as he is still an asset.
-
Underwelmed with this. No disrespect to Bjarne who has been a fantastic professional over the years but he appears to be on a very quick downward spiral. Here's hoping he can arrest the slide a bit and recapture some of his old form.
-
A Poole fan having a pop at Lakeside for 'gaining' out of the heatleader list. Just made my morning!
-
Would rather we signed Jan Pedersen back to be honest! Need decent back up for AJ. Where from? I don't know.... Reserves could be a real trump for us though. Potentially the strongest combo in the league.
-
Quality! Welcome Lewis.

Very harsh on Bates if true.
-
Two things: Firstly, IF Ben Barker ends up on the draft list then I truly give up. Has ridden in 2/3 World Cups so that would be crossing a massive line. Secondly, although I understand the competitive nature of team building, it is a shame that a young local rider that we, as a nation (speedway wise) are trying to develop has to make way to accommodate Batchelor. Development of the better draft riders should be a priority for British Speedway, now more than ever.
-
Wouldn't be happy with Bjarne at all. Good rider back in the day but a spent force now.
-
Or perhaps our fans have actually kissed a girl mate?
-
Options are limited. Assuming one of the remaining 2 is Lawson, I would imagine it will be someone like Peter Ljung? Not awe inspiring but realistic.
-
I have made no suggestion about money being any kind of factor. Believe it or not, this isn't a pop at Poole. However, if Poole continue with their 'the hell with everyone else' attitude, you /they may find themselves very lonely at some point in the future.
-
I have and I know the answer. But that isn't the point I'm making. We all know that Poole is an attractive proposition for most riders and I have no problem with that. However, if every rider took the same stance, where would that leave speedway...and Poole speedway?
