Lakeside V Poole Friday 1st July
NickRushbrook replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I find it funny how the same Poole fans who were so against this fixture going ahead and how it was such a waste of time are now rejoicing in 'Pooles' victory! Without wanting to sound sour, the team that won this are simply NOT the Poole Pirates. Moreover, I'm more interested in the shambles that is my team. The biggest disgrace in all my years of attending. ....and trust me I've seen a lot of embarrassments. -
Lakeside V Poole Friday 1st July
NickRushbrook replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Looks like Lakeside have had this. I think they thought they simply needed to turn up tonight. Fair play to the riders representing Poole tonight but questions need to asked about this Lakeside team. Not a one of them deserves a team spot after this. Utterly humiliating. -
Lakeside V Poole Friday 1st July

Can see both points of view. Lakeside have always been very fair when it comes to this sort of thing and I don't think for one minute they are revelling in this situation. It's a shame as I enjoy beating an over strength Poole side! -

Ha! So we're slagging off Lakesides track again are we? As Will in the Inbetweeners says: 'retro, but a good one!' -

Lakeside's a trick track don't you know?? Well, it is when someone's team gets soundly beaten at 'fortress arena' anyway! That's what I call pathetic! -
Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?

Alright, calm down sweetheart! As I said, I understand both sides of the argument. It's a shame others can't. -
Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
NickRushbrook replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think it's fair to say that there are reasonable arguments on both sides. Tai unquestionably has upset a few to the point where opinion of him is changing or has changed already. On the other hand, we have an outstanding sportsman who will hopefully have continued success we can be proud of for years to come. The previous sentence where it gets a bit messy for me. As much pride as it has given me to support Tai, it has been slightly tainted by his infatuation with Australia. Does he want to be British? That is the key question for me. His actions during the Australian GP make me doubt it and that's the problem i have giving him my unanimous support. -
Hi, Planning on going to Cardiff this year for the first time in a long while. Was just wondering if the stands outside or indeed inside the stadium sell rider merchandise...caps, tshirts etc? I don't care much for the SGP branded stuff but like to collect riders souvenirs. Any help appreciated!

Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?
NickRushbrook replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I have to say that I want to like Tai, but I find it really difficult these days. Have to agree on what others have said and add that it feels like he thinks he is doing GB a favor by riding for them above his beloved Australia. I have no problem with his fondness for Australia, it is only natural. However I'm going to hurt his feelings now and point out that he is NOT AUSTRALIAN.....NOT ONE BIT. Born in the UK to British parents = British blood through and through. -

Ah ok, thanks. Easy to see why that would slip under the radar. -

Remind me about this (Lee Richardson comment) please. I'm a Lakeside fan but don't remember anything underhand on this occasion.. Reading the article about us (Lakeside) using Kasprzak is interesting. I was at the first fans meeting that Stuart Douglas held where he announced KK had signed. He said that Lakeside went all out to sign Jason Crump and that Jason was very interested in coming here. He made a comment to the effect, that KK was offered to us with favourable terms if we ended our pursuit of Jason Crump. Not sure what the favourable terms were but I don't believe that Poole were as helpful to us as the article suggests.....again in turn being more helpful to themselves. -

Well I'm not so sure it is in fact, that simple. I don't pretend to know the ins and outs but something must be amiss. The bad feeling hasn't spawned just out of jealousy surely? This is purely my observation and I admire your defense of your team, much like I would defend my own. -

I agree with you. In fact I'm almost as frustrated with the other promoters for rolling over all the time. Perhaps though, the other promotions just throw their arms in the air after years of back and forth whining. It's easy to type this but I'd like to think that I'd be more robust in this area should I ever become a promoter. -

The way I see Poole is how I see a footballer who dives. In time the footballer cuts out most of the diving but still gets a rough ride from the ref and fans alike whenever he goes down. The footballer has created a reputation for himself so that every little issue comes under the microscope. The problems fans of other clubs have with Poole are not without foundation I'm afraid. -
Lakeside V Poole Ela. 8/04/16
NickRushbrook replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I love the whole 'massive home track advantage' accusation directed at Lakeside! Every home side has an advantage. When Lakeside lose heavily away, is that down to home track advantage? No? Thought not....! I have seen Lakeside lose at home many times so I really don't believe we have any more advantage than any other team. Besides, a side that includes 2 former Lakeside riders, a World Champion, the top PL rider, Hans Andersen, the best EDL rider and 'second string' Buzskowski should not succumb to such 'advantage'. -

Proud of my team tonight. Poole are obviously a ridiculously strong team and I thought at 6 points down, with our reserves not performing, we'd had it. Kelvin is making a positive impact no question and Lewis Bridger was dynamite in his last ride. Great result! -

I've made a point of looking over the pits in between some races and Kelvin is definitely getting about to provide feedback to everyone. He can't transform riders into world class but he can certainly get the best out of them and I believe he will. There appears to be a good team spirit as well. AJ helps immensely in this area. Great team man. Onto Friday and my only fear is the reserves. Kyle is class at that level and Ellis has suddenly decided he can ride the track after all. Think the respective top 5 will be quite evenly matched. Hammers to shade it.... -

Hopefully the inclusion of Richard Lawson will keep it closer (not close). The trick track at Wimborne Road always seems to catch most of our team out in spite of having rode it many times. -

Steve, Richard Lawson will not be riding as his place for this fixture will be taken by Ed. -
Leicester V Lakeside 2nd April
NickRushbrook replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I feel sorry for the Lions fans and genuinely hope things improve. It reminds me of Lakesides (Arena Essex) team of 2006. Michael Max, Steve Johnson, Leigh Lanham, Joonas Kylmakorpi (the one shining light who was injured moat of the time), Henning Bager, Brent Werner and Paul Hurry. Just a miserable season with no changes being made. Nearly killed my interest off for good. There does seem to be a project going on at Leicester though and I would suspect that things will work out eventually.
