Anyone who has a pop at our predicament as at least one individual already has is a complete lowlife toss stain. Happy to have it out in person as well should they wish. Bad news for the club and fans but this may not spell the end. Perhaps a good time to press the 'reset' button anyway.

Most In-demand Riders For The 2017 Season
NickRushbrook replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Adam Ellis will be back at Lakeside in 2017 on the average he attained during the 2015 season. -
AJ yes Lawson Maybe Bridger no Nilsson yes Kennett Maybe Morley no Branford no Ellis yes since he's now magically discovered he can ride our track. Swiderski no Nicholls no Mear no Would like to make an attempt for Chris Harris though. Perhaps something along the lines of: AJ LAWSON NILSSON NORTH HARRIS ELLIS ZACH (IF he's on the draft as had been earlier suggested).

I don't condone the actions of Greg on Saturday (or the SWC) but I don't quite understand the amount of hate thrown at him. Ok, we've discovered that he's not a perfect human bring and that sometimes perhaps, his 'grin' is a facade. No question though, whether fake or not, he has always had time to talk to the fans over the years and never looks like he's trying to get away. Also, no question that he's quite simply one of the best SPORTSMEN ever. 46 and still number one. Staggering achievement.

Robbo is too nice. Doesn't need all the rubbish that comes with a manager. Would be a great development coach though. Certainly hope he has a role in speedway when he retires.

Polish Ekstraliga Is Flexing Its Muscles
NickRushbrook replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
Good to know. Put me down for a dozen..... -
I can't help but think in some ways, this might be beneficial to UK speedway in the long run. The arrogance and ignorance of the Polish is off the scale but it's true that their resources completely outweigh our own. I've always felt that in some cases, the top riders almost feel like they are doing us a favour by simply turning up. I'd hate to see the more committed ones like AJ and Jason Doyle leave but it's time to gut British Speedway to the core and build it back up with British riders, good racing and value for money in a well organised league structure. Stop papering over the cracks in this crumbling product by signing moody 'world class' riders and make our own. Stick two fingers up at the Polish League and wait for them to slip up....and they will in the fullness of time. We will then have a great sustainable product and will be able to call the shots.

Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...
NickRushbrook replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't see any issue at all with Wolves tracking Tai. Yes, his cma isn't reflective of his true ability but he attained that cma whilst riding for Wolves. It's only right that Wolves benefit from his low cma as they had to endure the 'under achievements ' the season prior. -
Thought I'd start this as it's usually February before there is anything on the leagues most 'unfashionable' team! Would like to see a very new look team simply to freshen things up. Whilst I enjoy watching Lewis Bridger, I think it best for him to do a season in the PL (if his cma allows). Perhaps somewhere like Peterborough. I would retain Lewis Kerr as I think he was just starting to come good. AJ very welcome and one of Kim, Ed or Rich. Would like a decent trump card from abroad but then, so would everyone!

Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...
NickRushbrook replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There is more to being a champion than just winning titles in my view. I felt the same about Nicki Pedersen. It's a shame as I really want to like Tai but it's becoming all too common a theme these days. He needs to grow up and man up. -

Seems he was 'giving it'. What a little prick. Apologies for language but just how I feel. -

NickRushbrook replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I do hope Woffinden wasn't 'giving it' to the Belle Vue fans there. No need if so. Just more classless act from our 'champion'. It's a joke he acts like he cares now. Where were you in March Tai? -
Watched him beat Leigh Adams at the Abbey which is no mean feat. Was absolute dynamite at times but lacked consistency to get to the next level. That said, was an integral part of better times at Lakeside so made an invaluable contribution to my enjoyment of this great sport. All the best to Kauko.

Ellis' parent club might have something to say about that. Im sure he'd prefer Poole but may not be quite as simple as that.

Lakeside Vs Belle Vue, 21/9/16...
NickRushbrook replied to Ace no.5's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thing is, I know it was hard to get a replacement for AJ but any of the other play off teams would have found a way. We NEVER do and I had enough of the excuses. There's not enough ambition, simple as that. The promotion accepted their fate before a wheel was turned and are hiding behind bad luck. It's like we didn't even try to make the final. -
Lakeside Vs Belle Vue, 21/9/16...
NickRushbrook replied to Ace no.5's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Embarrassing from Lakeside. We should have been thrown out for not fielding a competitive team. A waste of a play off space. Roll on 2017.....where no doubt we'll see the same faces in the team yet again.... -

Should Greg Hancock Ride For Usa?
NickRushbrook replied to John Leslie's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I do think this situation has been handled badly by Greg. Over the years though, I think it's fair to say he has invariably given a lot to US Speedway. It must be tough to motivate yourself when no matter how many points you score, the team is unlikely to have any success. He has stuck with it though for the best part of 27 years. That's some service. -
Us Speedway Revolution
NickRushbrook replied to NickRushbrook's topic in International World of Speedway
Yeah the assessed cma is a flawed system across the board. I remember the days when it seemed that a new US rider would seemingly arrive every week with much interest. Even the ones that didn't make it like Carrillo, Yarrow, Burmeister etc created a bit of excitement. Hopefully the likes of Kurtis Hamill, Luke Becker and the Ruml brothers will be given a chance over here in the next few seasons. -
Hi, I'm English but have maintained an interest in US Speedway for many years and am keen for them to return to their glory years. There are many people doing a great job with the youngsters from Steve Evans to Hagon Shocks to Billy Hammill. I love the small US tracks and have visited Costa Mesa on many occasions but I wondered if there was any scope for bigger 'European ' style tracks for the US riders? It's almost a different sport due to the sheer size difference and makes it tough for these talented youngsters to make the transition in international events. Luke Becker looked very promising in the SWC. No points scored but very much on the pace. Regards, Nick

I'm stunned that anyone actually believes that this tr3mmor or whoever is really Polish! Good work lad! On the positive side it's great to wake up this morning with a lot of pride restored to British speedway. World number 2's is an amazing achievement and hopefully we can push on and consolidate ourselves as a force once again.

Lakeside V Poole Friday 1st July
NickRushbrook replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not sure Steve. Complacency on our part must be a factor although no excuse as they should have approached this more professionally. -

Including me mate. To be fair, I reckon you guys amongst other posters here probably provided the best team talk ever given to your riders. Just reading this thread would have fired them up! The irony!
