Harris has still got it. Very tenacious there. -

Poland take it the most seriously on every level and thus deserve the Championship. Realistically, they will only get stronger so a lot of work to be done by all nations to keep pace. -

Give Ellis a ride now. Bronze has gone pretty much. At least come away with as much experience as possible. -

Well done Stevie. Didn't deserve last. Incredible that only 3 years ago was struggling to beat national league riders! -

Agree on the second part Toad. Watched a Poland vs Russia test match recently and even though Poland ended up winning comfortably, a few Russians really stepped up which probably has helped them this SWC campaign. -

Cook is having a bad one but he strikes me as the kind of bloke who will use this as fuel to improve. Lambert and Worrall will improve. Harris is on the pace but lacking that little extra. Can we have next year at King's Lynn?? -

Poland are different class no doubt. I'm fact, their C team would probably win this! Tracks are so different in Poland that it's almost like a different sport. -

Lack of horsepower in our engines for sure. We seem to lose a lot of ground just on the straights. Cook and Lambert are capable of much better. -

It's good to see the US planning for the future. Rich tradition of good riders coming from over there and we certainly don't want less competing nations. Luke Becker has definitely got a lot of potential. Hopefully a team place in the UK next year? -
The Draft 3 Years On
NickRushbrook replied to NickRushbrook's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I stand corrected. Lambert wasn't actually part of the draft although he would have been eligible? I pretty much count him anyway as it suits my original post! Whatever the case may be, the point is, it has elevated riders to another level. Even someone like Paul Starke, who was in obscurity is now a dependable, competent rider in both leagues. Steve Worrall is the obvious success story. -
Was reflecting on Team GBs performance at the weekend and although the BSPA get a lot of (justifiable) stick, I think they should be applauded for this move. 3 of the 5 were products of this scheme and when you think about it, I would never have imagined that it would have yielded the success it has. Whilst we will probably never compete with Poland in this area, I think the future for British riders looks healthy so fair play to the guys. Who else can make the jump?
-
I like Lewis and while he may be right, it probably shouldn't be coming from him. Monumental waste of talent. I just feel that if he put the same effort into all aspects of his career that he does his social media, we would have another world class rider. Needs to look at the attitudes of Craig Cook and Steve Worrall who have upped their game in later years. Hopefully he can follow suit.

Going for the first time since 2012. Got in on the day last time. Would anyone envisage any problems doing the same this time? Any help appreciated! -

Interested to see how Luke Becker goes this year. Despite scoring zero, thought he looked a decent talent. Speaking of US youngsters, what's happened to Max Ruml?? -
In total agreement with you here. My club (Lakeside), with the foresight of Stuart Douglas completely revamped the presentation when he came in and it was well received. Up until the last couple of seasons, our crowds were on the up and I believe that this change of the guard assisted that.
-
Oh dear. Tai really is becoming more deluded by the day! He's a great talent, no question about that but he's acting like such a prima Donna these days. Not everything is about you Tai! Not often I praise the BSPA but I make them right on this. As far as approaching Mark Lemon is concerned, let him if that's what he wants. He always appears like he's doing Team GB a favour by turning out for them anyway. Fact, remains he IS NOT an Aussie, WAS NOT born there, DOES NOT live there and HAS NOT any Australian family. Oh, and you DO NOT race in Australia either......so there...!

Thanks Lisa. I will give it go but I'd feel a lot better, if I knew we had Elite League, sorry, SCB Prem speedway to look forward to.

Without intending any disrespect to the NL or its supporters, the product just isn't for me. I will still go sporadically and try to enjoy the sport in its rawest form but I can't envisage getting excited about the team winning. I will even miss the disappointment of losing. I want to care but I fear in the NL, I just won't. My support will still be there as long there's something to look forward to at the conclusion of the three years. Otherwise, it's just a means to an end.
-
Good for you. I shall respond how I see fit as well.
-
Yes, take the moral high ground now if it gives you comfort. If you truly wish the club well, perhaps you could refrain from any and all derogatory comments during our darkest hour.
-
From your earlier posts, I would suggest that it is you that is 'wishful' in regards to wanting to see Lakeside slide into oblivion. Of course, I'm going to wishful/hopeful. It's all we have right now. Imbeciles like yourself just seem to enjoy sticking the boot in. Easy on a keyboard though eh?

Having had 24 hours to digest this news, I can see the POTENTIAL positives of this move. IF we can run PL, we could still maybe track the likes of Lewis Bridger, Richard Lawson and Adam Ellis so we can retain a bit of identity. We still have the academy going as well so perhaps we could see a graduate or two in the next three years. We could create something very special if we play this right. I'm just a little concerned that this news is the first step of a gentle let down as we see the fold completely. For me, PL = new start and NL = beginning of the end.
-
It has to be Premier league to retain fan interest imo. If the idea is to get back into the tip flight within 3 years, then we would need some momentum going in. Being in the NL would all but kill that off in my view. I'm concerned that 3 years worth of NL racing would put an end to mine and many others support.
