  1. Could we not run the remaining heats behind closed doors on another day in the week(assuming riders are available etc)?
  2. Absolutely disgusted and peed off. Feel sorry for all involved but Peterborough shouldn't profit from this.
  3. Has anyone thought to call out an electrician?? There isn't one here apparently. Sympathy with the guys trying to sort it but as Jon Cook just said, they aren't qualified.
  4. It's a shame. No one really wins here. Kings Lynn look unlikely to get their maiden win and Poole won't be able to enjoy the victory the way they should, although I'm sure their fans will say otherwise. Ultimately injuries always rob the fans and riders of a fair a competitive final so the teams can win/lose with little no excuses.
  5. How embarrassing to see the excitement amongst Poole fans in the stands. You'd think they beat a team full of GP riders!
  6. Truly awful decision. If I was team manager, I'd take my team off the track in protest.
  7. Poole being forced to use Nick Morris at the last moment leaves them much weaker as it has unsettled the club and well, the whole of the town really. Kings Lynn's name already on the trophy/plaque/whatever.....
  8. It's all relative though isn't it? If NKI were to score 6/7 at Wimborne Road, it would be considered poor for a rider of his stature. In contrast, should Adam get a similar tally this evening, it would be considered a good effort in the circumstances.
  9. Can only echo the sentiments of others. Lost all interest now. Everybody, and I mean everybody involved in this decision should be ashamed.
  10. Poole have absolutely no chance in the final. Only a miracle and a heroic effort of Gladiator proportions will see them land the title this season. Hand Lynn the title now!!
  11. Somerset were clearly stronger riding with 5 riders as it galvanised them. Poole did well to overcome this unfair advantage.
  12. Harris has still got it! Don't care much for Poole but love Bomber! Never quits.
  13. There's a key difference: Cheering in relief to gaining an unexpected advantage and cheering because a rider has fallen. I could name fans of both....but I won't as I'm sure they are in the minority.
  14. Against all odds, Poole are by some miracle winning this. Heroic is the only word that does this justice....
  15. Just dipping in to see if Somerset are now 'stronger' due to r/r for Summers and Howarth deputising for BWD? *swims off*
  16. Yeah, dirty cheating scoundrels, all of 'em! Jokes aside, hope that we (Lakeside) are at full strength for the semi. Bowtell and Morley are on fire and I think we missed them last night. Hope Zach is back as well and hoping for a fair couple of meetings.
  17. I remember on the show 'they think it's all over', Gary Lineker won guess the sportsman while blindfolded although I can't remember who the rider was....maybe Mark Loram but not sure. Then divulged that he used to attend Leicester speedway back in the day.
  18. Whether or not it is a farce that Craig is riding in this league, he was a very welcome visitor to Lakeside on our last ever meeting. Was great to have him and Chris Harris there to make it a better send off. Slightly off topic but also wanted to say how brilliant Craig was with the fans and children in particular when on the way to the pits. Class act.
  19. Agree with City Rebel. 30 years of my life just about to disappear into oblivion without any consultation with the supporters. This 'exiting new era' rubbish is simply insulting to the intelligence and longevity of the core support. Perhaps plans are afoot for an Essex based venue but I see no evidence of this. There's been way too much carrot dangling with regard to the sport continuing in the county. Whilst I appreciate the efforts of Jon Cook over the last few years, it just seems a little too easy to move the team to Rye. But then again, while it is a passion and a way of life for supporters, it's simply a business for promoters of the sport....
  20. Well....I would.....if I had the capital. I really don't know how viable the location would be but it's got to be worth a look if the owners really are searching for a new home? I could literally arrange a meeting/visit tomorrow. Don't suppose you fancy going halfs with me and setting up a new home oursleves do you mate?!
  21. It's a tough one this. The statement is Ill-timed but unavoidable for the promotion. Expect to see attendances drop off for the remainder of what was a most promising season. I fear this will in-turn, be unconvincing for the promotion to pull out all the stops for another season. I've already mentioned to the club numerous times that there is land available in the south Ockendon area which I believe is ideal but I have had a lack of response but perhaps I'll try again as i know the land owner very well.
