Great news finally! I’m getting fed up of waiting.

Me and my brother used to help out on practice days at Weymouth Cycle Speedway. I think it’s gone now, it was a nice outdoor shale track at the athletics track in the shadows of the old railway embankment.

I think there’s a big display board covering the view of the one bend at Nottingham. Rendering it difficult to adapt. edit - my bad… it’s a lake!

It looks like it could produce some amazing racing lines.

It did. My own mom and dad talk fondly of the moment Big Arthur touched/fenced* Ole Olsen at PB once and Browning got excluded. The place went into orbit! *view depended on whether you were a Brummie or bee fan.

As a Brummie watching the Wolves v Cradley in the Black Country derbies was surreal. Standing on the terraces at Monmore Green in between the two, listening to two sets of fans abuse each set of riders, each other and Brendan Kearney in some kind of foreign language was amazing.

This is why I have a dislike for doubling up. Fans lose out of some talent and get overdosed with other.

Agreed. Rumours of tracks closing seem to hold more sway than the written word of one opening these days.
