Wow that is impressive! It looks very similar to one the Cradley Heathens have planned.

Time For Ole Olsen To Leave The Grand Prixs?
Deano replied to richard_a's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Caps!?! I think Ole does have the sports best interests at heart, ok his track prep isn't the best but rather him than a nobody. -
Second City Trophy

The new signing I hope! -
Kam it's really down to the people of Barrow, if they want a team and someone has the bottle to get a basic set up going then it can happen. Where the track could be I don't know, I have never been to Barrow. Approaching the council and the BSPA would be a good start.

60 odd mile is quite a journey.

Conference league doesn't need a Tony Mole, I think the cheapest may have been Carmarthen of recent times. If the crowds come and kids want to learn to ride, it should pay for itself.
-
To be honest with the relatively successful relaunch of Workington, I am surprised that Barrow hasn't appeared again in some shape or form. Bu never say never.... remember we appeared again!

Forever racing these pair of brothers, they can't get it out of their system. Even Arthur Browning of Birmingham 70's fame is still riding trials.

Rosco Your Country Needs You.
Deano replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think 95% of the GB speedway population will agree with you on that one. A Good point well put across. -
Rosco Your Country Needs You.

Seems like most people commenting on this thread have the typical football fans mentality.... sack the manager! When will people realise that Middlo can only run with what he has got, if what he has available has not got the ability nor the equipent to race on a big Polish track, then so be it. We need to look at our own grass roots before we start slating Middlo, we should be blaming the BSPA for this not the our manager. Surely people saw this result coming!!!! -
Review Of Super7even So Far

Anything that gets us better publicity and an increase in attendances is good for speedway. Well done Jonathan Chapman. -
Guy Gets Thrown Out Of The Stadium
Deano replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Sorry Steve but I think this guy should have just been removed from the stadium and shot. Society doesn't need this kind of person. Grachan if I had been head of security I would have got the stewards to assemble a fully automatic AKA machine gun and finshed everyone off. For this you need to approach from behind then a nice clean swift cut with a Gurkha knife to the jugular. Very quick. The ultimate security measure. -
Any rider who puts on the Union Flag will get my backing 110% until they get knocked out. Whether they are lying last, first or just there to make up the numbers. It should be their proudest moment of their career, and we should acknowledge that.

If there is ever a fairy tale way to win a GP, it was the way Bomber won it. WELL DONE!!!!! A very entertaining evening, and feel hoarse after shouting at the tv.

Thanks for sharing that, nice one. -
After watching Woffinden's and Chris Neath's accident last week at PB makes me wonder why I bother going at all. RIP Tony, my thoughts are with his family and friends at this tragic time.

Premier League 4 Team Tournament
Deano replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
A bit like tennis and cricket, put the covers back on after the race. Then take them off again, will need a big team effort but workable. -
I am hearing this second hand but they used to let the land out for track days anyway, for people to belt around in sports/rally cars, so I wouldn't have thought noise would be a problem. The land is own by GM Manufacturing Europe and may welcome some additional income. Big companies are into this working with the community type stuff, how better way of looking after your community by supplying land for them to use for speedway. Just a thought. Someone local write a letter and find out?
-
I have just been told that the GM car factory there, has lots of land which it uses for track days etc. Could this not be used for speedway too? They have just won the new generation Astra from 2010 so its future is secured for a few years yet. <edit> spelling

There are probably a lot more than we take for granted. I don't think the riders choose themselves neither, they more than likely go for the reliable options. I'm sure other than the current crop of GP riders from GB, there are several of similar ability that could fit into the team.

I agree with SCB, get him in the pits, let middlo be the tactician, Mark could help and give valuable advice to the youngsters while the seniors concentrate on trying to win.

eeerrrr you maybe!

Attendances For British Gp
Deano replied to Sheephead's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Apparently 32,000 went to see the Sydney GP, that's just a little short of Cardiffs lowest attendances......... How come it was a financial failure? Re Cardiff, If I was a hotelier and fillinging it every year for the speedway GP. I'd charge more each year. That weekend would need to subsidise the ones when my hotel is cheap and empty. It's general commerce.
