  1. Nah... he's drinking his dram wrapped in the union flag watching SKY as we speak! Possible even kissing his piccy of the queen after every GB win!!
  2. I think some people watch too much speedway on tele. The alternative, is turn it off or best still go and pay the admission price and petrol and go and watch it live. You do have a choice.
  3. http://www.soccer-live.pl/transmisje.php?id=motorsport It's the first one in the list, scroll down to UKTV sport in bold, then press the orange PLAY. This will take you straight through to Justin TV which is in English.
  4. Of course. The world cup isn't the place for testing new blood to replace aging stock, but what other opportunites are the BSPA exploring to cover the gaps. The GP scene is one, testing Wild Cards at Cardiff and arranging test matches, the later probably difficult these days with rider commitments etc. I'm sure we all agree that they should do more. There just might be riders out there now, like in the past that flourish riding for Team GB. Naff at individual level, but like Danny King stepped up to the plate under pressure.. not a world star admittedly, but capable all the same. How will we flush out these riders? Peterborough was that opportunity, a classic example was it Phil Brown (the name escapes me) the 4x400 metre relay runner, not really that good as an individual runner, but as a team runner under real pressure.... completely world class. I'm sure there are British speedway equivalents to.
  5. Can you just answer me this one question me old whooooosher . Would using the best riders Britain have available at the moment, taken us straight through to the world cup final? If your answer is no.... what was wrong in using the riders Lyons selected as it would have mean't going to the race off anyway.
  6. It pains me to say it but...... nmmmnmnmnmnnnn... well done Mr Chapman, great track prep!
  7. I'm sorry but your posts are pretty lame. Fans want their league team to win to do this they put out the strongest team, which means fielding Aussie's and Europeans as there are no decent Brits. The very same fans have the gall to criticise selectors when there are no decent Brits to track other than the usual "old crusties" as someone said. Fielding the same old team year in year out is not getting us anywhere. I notice you have no avatar, which suggests you are just a mere critic, possibly a failed journalist rather than a "true" fan with heart.
  8. Just what we need for Poland? whoosh.... I'm glad Lyons ran the team he did, at least it's pulled another couple of riders into the mix for the race off.
  9. Bit like the tartan trousers covering the union flag boxers. Sorry cheap gags Synper... only having fun.
  10. I bet the Union Flag is waving proudly outside your house as we speak.
  11. When you are following a rider do you stare at his bum or back wheel?
  12. The issue I have with this is you are in affect asking the bigger Premier League to break up and support the shrinking Elite League with three of their teams? I would actually prefer one big league and throw all teams into the mix, rather than to what appears to be taking away the bigger Premier league tracks that are our crowd pullers. I agree through some very good pointers. Well done.
  13. Cheers tomcat, much appreciated ... so some riders have a common respect for each other, which may have been what the rider in the interview was eluding about years ago. Can't imagine many riders having a common respect for Nicki P.
  14. A rider actually said it in an interview once years ago. If a rider is quicker and is going to pass you, you may as well let him work for it and leave a bit of room rather than both ending up in the fence and out for weeks. He then went on to say the Americans were the most gentlemanly when leaving room, the Brits were the worst for closing the gap. Perhaps it just doesn't happen anymore, hence why nobody has heard of it.
  15. I fear Russia maybe another Poland in the making but bigger. They'll get money thrown at them by the big money Russians when in the bigger meetings now they are proving themselves.
  16. Isn't there a "gentlemans" agreement that the rider in front will leave a bit of room if there is a quicker rider behind. Perhaps Nicki wrongly assumed he would leave a bit and didn't.
  17. Blimey a username from past, welcome back!
  18. I agree Jimjam Bluejam, what a fantastically likable bloke BFD is. He is as funny in real life, as he is on here, especially the story about the Kirby's! Enjoy the rest of the tour BFD.. and I hope you make many more friends.
  19. Good job that particular sponsor isn't on his left bum cheek!
  20. You are right... I thought the same as ML. The rider going into the pits (in front of Scott and Emil) clearly goes behind the pit gate to enter the pits. Which does mean Scott impedes Emil.
  21. Ha ha... our posts look really silly now!
