  1. Hi Starman, The fighting fund won't be spent without the supporters club approval. The objective of the fund is to ensure the club survives either this season or starts a fresh next season. If neither of those are to happen then the supporters club will either return the money to the individual or donate it to the SRBF which ever the donator prefers. No money will be spent without the donators original intentions achieved.
  2. We have until Monday...... Hence the reason for the fighting fund, if the GRA are the obstacle it could go part way to funding the gap.
  3. http://www.acu.org.uk/events/april-2014/guernsey-motor-cycle-car-club-southern/track-grass-track-long-track/vazon-bay-guernsey-acu41336.aspx I found this. has contact details for you.
  4. Basically Tony Mole is to British Speedway that Ole Olson is to Danish Speedway. He's promoted and ressurected more speedway clubs than I guess you have had hot dinners. I'm as surprised as anyone you haven't heard of him. Ian Thomas and Graham Drury have/had worked for him for many many years at the various tracks he has owned. Some clubs that people haven't mentioned. Mildenhall and Belle Vue. He tried to ressurect Bradford recently too.
  5. This I don't understand. Why then throw in the towel mid season if they could pay off all the debts and see the season through. In their words, they can afford it. It was Phillips's decision to quit originally not the BSPA's It just smacks of more porkies.
  6. Being a business reliant on gate money probably needs to change. Get the evening streamed onto pc's at home for a much reduced fee per meeting or something. It needs to get into the home, but the BSPA need to benefit from the cash, not a third party provider.
  7. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=71305&p=2171069 Classic posts, thank you for the reminder. Cheered me up somewhat! lol
  8. Agree, but is it an imaginary friend/investor.... Can't tell with that bloke. Yes they have to lodge a bond, that bond I believe has paid riders wages for the last two meetings. On the rider front, we owe a retainer list, but most are retired. these will be seized by the BSPA if we closed. The assets we will also loose are things like track grading equipment, tractor, air fence etc.
  9. I don't know, where or when the meeting is, I'm not on the committee. If I find out I'll let you know. The thing is redandyellow Charles and his dad consistently denied having any debt. They have both mismanaged the business and blamed everyone but themselves. You are right, he has nothing to gain from lying, but something isn't sitting right with me.
  10. Charles Phillips says he has an investor willing to split the debt with him on the proviso this investor gets his money back at the end of the season. The thing is do we trust him? Is he telling the truth or more half truths?
  11. Why wait weeks to think about it, when the whole thing has sunk in and the momentum has died down? Strike while the iron is hot. Within a week a lot of people will have their holidays to look forward to and perhaps would think twice about donating. We want our team back, why wait. charles Phillips has said the debt is £50k by the way. Unpaid riders wages is included in that.
  12. A starter for ten. Perhaps if attendance figures were released a promotion could only build a team with that income in mind averaged over a season?
  13. The arguments have already started between fans and the former promotion. You can be assured the money won't go spent willy nilly. The commitee really have to have their heads screwed on to make sure what they have gets us up and running for next year. The proposal is to clear the way for a new owner to have a fair start and not be compromised by an unfair advantage due to the previous promotion. If a new owner fails to bring Birmingham speedway to the tapes next season, then money will be handed back. Remember everyone is just quessing what the debts actually are, only those in charge who have walked know the truth.
  14. Money will be returned if speedway doesn't continue and the campaign fails. This campaign is intended to support next seasons revival under new owners. It is not intended to bail out the current promotion.
  15. If it was the topic that was set up earlier, ignore it. Someone created that by mistake not knowing the supporters club had got one already done. The opening poster soon pointed this out, but the link had already been cancelled. This is what you are talking about? The thread has gone now deleted. Use the link in my post above, there are three different ways to pay.
  16. This is copied and pasted straight from the Brummies Forum: The bits in italics I have added to help with the decision. As I put below the link to www.fundrazr.com is an independant company, if a card doesn't work you need to contact them. Or if you can't get it to work you could have pop ups blocked on your pc, as when you use it you get directed to a new page which pops up. This is the fighting fund set up to raise money for the campaign to save the Brummies Speedway Club, all monies will be handed over to the Supporters Club and all monies will be returned if an outcome is unfavorable to us...the fans. Use this one below for card payments, if they can't get it to work you need to contact the company who own the website. This website isn't run by me or Birmingham speedway supporters club. Link One(Pay by paypal/CC/etc) http://fnd.us/c/foCy1/sh/f3fNO7 If you are registered for Internet banking you can make a payment to the account below. Link Two (Details for cheques and bank details for Supporters Club) Transfer: Account No.04393966 Sort Code.30-93-09 If you like good old fashioned payment methods, here is the cheque option. Cheques made out to Birmingham Speedway Supporters Club c/o 42 Marine Drive Birmingham B44 8BB
  17. Are you on a wind up. I've posted and quoted you at least twice with a link... Third time lucky eh? https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/foCy1/sh/f3fNO7
  18. get registered on the Brummies forum matey. You can get all the info you want from there. The cricket club has been mentioned and I believe they want it this week. Although someone has suggested the Hare of the Dog.
  19. No he doesn't this season and to be honest who would, but, the finances are confusing. You are confused, so are we. One minute we are not in debt, the next we still don't have any debt just unpaid rolling credit (the words of the Phillips jnr). So the general feeling is the company owe money and has pissed off everyone in speedway including other promotions and riders etc. the fighting fund is being set up to help appease the feeling of anyone who is owed money that would prevent the team starting afresh next season by a new company. ie if the GRA have not being paid. (we don't want an Oxford done on us). No money will go to Phillips. I think a meeting is being set up by a few commitee members of the supporters club with a few invities who may know a bit about what is owed. Who that is, I don't know. I'm hoping Tony Mole likes the effort we are putting in gets an invite and knows we mean business. We will not go away without a fight.
  20. https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/foCy1/sh/f3fNO7 If anyone wishes to donate to the fighting fund. I've pledged £140 to kick it off. Fingers crossed eh....
  21. I think you have to go back to the 80's when there was only six teams in the old British League division 1 set up. So saying "Elite League" was perhaps the only error in your comment.
  22. I've put something on the brummies forum. EDIT: This fund has been offerred a £1k donation from a very credible source.
  23. I'm messaged the supporters club. Perhaps they could offer the use of an account, Their accounts may have conditions attached. In all honesty I think this season is dead and buried, but if any fighting fund could be used to pay off a GRA debt and others outstanding by the speedway, then at least a promoter could have a chance of starting with a clean balance sheet.
