I agree Unfortunately once you close, people find other things to do. While a stadium is there it’s the best you have. No stadium and you only have to look at other teams as a guide in how successful they have been in finding that “piece of land”.
-
Yes, look at the times of the first four heats last week. Similar to this weeks. Anyway not that anything is likely to happen or change, but apparently the whole issue is under investigation.
-
With Harris, Worrall and Masters riding hard, fast and high into the airfence last night, it just proves Redcars stand off last week was unjustifiable.
-
It has to go... if you want to get more people through the turnstiles, it won't be long before they'll start wondering why it happens.

Edinburgh v Birmingham 10/9/21 7.30pm KO Cup

He was never due to ride apparently, a long term commitment/engagement. Although I only found this out today. Pity though, we really needed him tonight. -

Edinburgh just too strong tonight. Pity both sides weren’t at full strength the score line might have been tighter. Still it was entertaining and we’ll have our work cut out at PB in a few weeks. Up The Brummies. -

With that Bham line up this is Edinburgh’s to lose. Wont stop me buying the stream though. Up the Brummies! -
If course and riders “on strike” is sending a good message. im done with this now fortunately like many before me I can choose where my cash goes. If the Brummies fold I’ll just be another one lost.
-
Fair comment, but it’s a very short term view. Redcar have come close to folding under previous promotion/s. I’ve been around this sport for a good 40 years and seen speedway on many different circuits. Many far worse than last night, many where riders can’t turn or even slide too well. But they’ve got on with it.
-
Interesting. Let’s hope a Just Giving page doesn’t appear with Redcars name on it at some point. With no local derby where’s your cash cow coming from ive said it before, anyone who supports last night Shenanigans really needs a hard look at how not to bite the hand that feeds them.
-
It was Barbara Horley according to the programme. With a trainee that wasn't named.
-
Love too. Biting off the hand that feeds you is how I’d put tonight’s shinnanigans. I’ve seen speedway in far far far worse conditions over the years. I guess we just have a different rider these days. If that’s the case today’s speedway isn’t for me. If Birmingham fold that’s the last £20 any promoter or rider get from me.
-
So you are biased like me then. hope you are proud.
-
We’re you there tonight? Redcar wanted it dusty, not damp and grippy.
-
Seemed okay from the terraces, normal close fast racing. after ... dusty and drawn out. loads walked out after heat four. Thanks Redcar. Be proud.
-
I think Redcar just killed any chance of Birmingham running next season. Thanks be proud.

RIP Harry.

That's my gripe. The BSPA rather than address the roote cause and bring on youngsters, it appeared to me, would rather prevent a new track opening or let one go to the wall. This enabled the pool of riders to appear larger. Sunderland would never get the go ahead for this reason, Weymouth struggled to get permission from Poole to re-open (there were conditions, lower league only was one), Birmingham fortunately got the go ahead from Wolverhampton. It's hard to prove, but I'm sure the points limit has forced some riders to retire. Fortunately from what I am seeing at the moment, there does appear to be a crop of youngsters coming through, that probably wouldn't have got a team place 15 years ago. But tracks are still closing.

Edinburgh v Birmingham 3/9/21 7.30pm

Wow how did we throw that away! Riss exclusion controversial, I'd have thought all four back. Kept us on our toes and well done the Edinburgh promotion for giving us Brummies the stream service. -

Birmingham v Poole. 1st September 2021
Deano replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think you were right with your earlier comment. It's something I've never noticed before, but it took several heats for the riders to get comfortable after the horrific heat one smash. Also we were fed up in the crowd after standing around for an hour. -
Birmingham v Poole. 1st September 2021

I enjoyed the meeting, it was good to get the win in the bag. It was also an immense pleasure seeing a rider of Danny King's quality gracing the Perry Barr circuit. -

Unfortunately Birmingham has around 1.3 million people within its boundary who don’t know this is on tonight. -
I thought the footy bought plough lane?

Nooo, having spent time in Poland watching Speedway with Trees. I can categorically say she is really nice person. Not deluded just loves speedway.
