  1. Now that's joke of the century LOL. But seriously, in 1987 he did a few of us out of some money. Shan't go into it on here, e-mail me for more details.
  2. I hope he stays in Australia as well. One of the worst promoters ever. And he owes me a few quid.
  3. A few years ago, whilst Speedway Star were making the history of Speedway series, there appeared to be some ruins of the old stadium left. Are they still there or are all visible signs of the old place now gone.
  4. Crikes don't look like Hyde road to me, however it's that old who know? Perhaps it is. I'm sure someone will verify.
  5. I find it interesting that White City (London) were called the Rebels and used the confederate flag as their emblem. The flag is seen as racist in many parts of the USA. Didn't the film "Absolute Beginners" make referals to White City developments.
  6. Good question, I seem to recall that there were white City stadiums in Nottingham, Cardiff, and Manchester as well. Were this stadiums not built by a company called White City developments?
  7. I have my fingers crossed, would be great to see Birmingham back. Perhaps the Cradley fans could forget old rivalries and go along.
  8. It's a great book, one or two errors, but then what book hasn't. A must for all fans interetsed in the history of the sport.
  9. Can anyone remember the bloke who used to stand opposite the tapes, holding out his fingers counting down the laps for the riders. This guy was a bit of a character and always had a go at away fans. He used to wear glasses and a brown coat. An odd bloke but always had us in stitches.
  10. .....and Syd James as the promoter of the Cobras, kinda reminded me of a few promoters of today. I think I have a copy of the film somewhere.
  11. Of riders currently competing in Britain on a regular basis Rob Hollingworth must take some beating. I reckon he is 48-49. As he rode for both Poole and Belle Vue last year, is he the oldest rider to appear for an ELITE leaague team ????
  12. Berrington is still there, overgrown and derelict. What a shame.
  13. If anyone has a photo of Dennis Mallett in a MK bodycolour could they let me know.
  14. Mike Moseley who runs Enjay track shops could be a good person to talk to.
  15. This is a request for any photos, film videos, of Boston, Scunthorpe and even Skegness. All be be returned or good prices will be paid for any of the above.
  16. Will be interesting to read. Personally, I was sad the day you left Berrington Lough, what a nice little set-up that was.
  17. If Wimbledon pay riders like Wayne Barrett £25 a point, no wonder they can't afford to move up.
  18. Martin rogers went on to promote at King's Lynn and Peterborough before moving to Oz.
