  1. they were forced out of Odsal and doubt they ever will return. Shame Alan Ham was one of the best promoters I have come across. Bulls do not want them at Odsal and in future years the track will disappear as they move the stands closer to the pitch.
  2. Hey the Pink plonker, good laugh was Habbin. Had us in stitches on the Anything Can Happen tapes.
  3. Wally's commentary has to be heard to be believed though "chase, chase, chase". Ever heard the audio tapes?? we used to play them on the way to meetings and they had us in hysterics.
  4. As long as I weren't mentioned Ken, it won't be nice if I was LOL.

Anyone think that we could get some other programmes like Prem or conf on Men and Motors. Anyone explored that avenue? Looking at the quality of programme on there perhaps they would be interested.
  6. BEERINGTON RULES (no not a spelling error). Move back it was a great little track.
  7. There are some pics on the speedwayplus website. Berwick should have stayed at the Lough. Nice little track.
  8. Can you send us a complete catalogue Ken, looks good for winter viewing. Any chance of you or Keith doing Scunthorpe?
  9. The conference league has just about every decent youngster there is. Oxford have used older riders and more experienced youngsters as much as anyone. Speaking for Boston - at the start of the season - richardson, Lambert, Dennis were all 15. Rolph was in his first full season. Cockle only 18. Only used one old hand as defined by the rules. even the moggies have used young lads. If there is anyone out there who wants to ban older riders - name them and replace them with a 15-16 yr old and tell me how many teams you are left with.
  10. Phil Cain often uses the forum under the name Trackman. Peter Bacons brother Mike rode for Coventry. Anyone recall Shaun Nicholls, brother of Scott.
  11. Are you the lady who used to do the 2, 4, 6, 8 chanting?
  12. With the return of Scunthorpe next season, I thought that a tape covering speedway in Lincolnshire might go down well with the fans over here. Maybe former riders and promoters would co-operate regarding interviews etc. Is your Scunny action from Quibell or Ashbyville?
  13. I have heard that story, but I'm not whether he was winding people up or not. Tyburn prison is probably one of the best known prison for hanging. I'll see if I can find out. BTW didn't he live his later years in Leicester.
  14. Peter Allen (Liverpool) and Gwynne Evans (Manchester) were similtaniously hanged on 13 Aug 1964. They are the last men to hang in Britiain.
  15. Tyburn Gallows also rode for Boston in the early seventies Incidently James Hanratty was not the last man to be hanged, sorry to harp on, but Criminology is my speciality.
  16. Look forward to viewing that lot Ken. I asked for footage from Boston, Scunthorpe or Skegness a few months ago.
  17. Nobody can pronounce Guglielmi now. I was told that the proper way to say it was Goo-lee-ell-mee, and that came from the horses mouth. Most people say Gug-lee-mee. We all pronounce Gjedde, Pedersen, Ravn etc wrong as well.
  18. He got stroppy at the Pride of the east meeting as he got mud on his nice new Neil Evitts British Champion jacket. Other riders he followed included Ray Wilson.
  19. After Belle Vue he went to Bradford and followed Neil Evitts. I remember the Speedway Mail doing an article about him. I think his real name was Tony. Apart from being very vocal - he was a nice guy. I have got a video of the 1986 Pride of the East and the TV cameras even closed in on him.
  20. Hm, did our american friends win one of those dodgy world titles where the rest of the world aren't invited to compete????

Chris Mulvihill had spells at Eastbourne and Boston. Didn't Mick Cmier switch to road racing and isn't he related to current British Championship rider Leon Camier.
  22. I stated a couple of years ago, that the second half could be races for qualification for a big meeting. Bring back the Grand Slam or something like it. In any case make the races meaningful. Two semi-finals plus final for eight top scorers and points towards qualification. Same for the juniors.
  23. Peter Boast is well reccomended by many riders. I believe Tom Madsen, Ian Barney and Ricky Scarboro are instructors. His school has been features in many Bike mags and he gets most people sliding (of sorts) within the day. Look in last months Fast Bikes Magazine.
  24. It's very pricey but nowhere near as much as road racing.
  25. Paul Thorp had a brief stint at Scunny.
