  3. Im still convinced that's Stan Stevens for West Ham on the inside pic 60!
  4. 60 looks like the old wooden stand behind turn 1&2 at Custom House if so, it must be either 1964 or 65 ! I think that stand came down in 1966 :?:
  5. 62 Ken Mckinley * 60 Try West Ham G Barclay, Stan the Man Stevens* Poole Bill Andrews, Bruce Cribb *More certain

  9. Looking at the programme for the last meeting at Brooklands for 1970, I was taken by the Eastbourne line up. The fixture was a challenge match between 2 Division two sides. How about this for an Eastbourne line up 1.Dave Jessup 2. laurie Simms 3.John Louis 4.Gordon Kennet 5.Reg Trott © 6.Phil Pratt 7.Dave Kennet Three of the above mentioned in the Best rider never to win the world title thread! http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forum/view...=asc&highlight=

  11. A Programme note from the final Home meeting 17th oct 1967 West Ham v Long Eaton TYBURN GALLOWS.Lots of people scoffed when we gave Tyburn rides, but this super-keen speedway enthusiast from North London has never really been given a fair run in speedway. Always the showman,he has given nothing less than 100 percent value and effort in our junior events and hasn't let the side down whe called upon to fill late-season injury gaps. Record for West Ham 1967 Up 2 Oct 13th (2 Matches left) British League M 1/R1/1sts0/2nds0/3rds0/Uplc1/P0/BP0/TP0/CMA0 London Cup M1/ R2/ Pts1/ Bpts0/ TP1/ CMA 2 Anyone intrested West Ham 45 L Eaton 33 Top Scorer West Ham S Harrfeldt 12 Max 4 Rides L Eaton R Wilson 14 5 Rides A Michanek 9 5 Rides T Gallows 2 Starts 2 EFs (Who was the mechanic Shazzy :? )
  12. Nail on the head Shazzy. Calling it off mid meeting was like airing your dirty laundry in public ! Much better to make the decision early. I think Olsen is now too far removed from current riders ! Let someone younger and closer to today’s riders have a go !
  13. Also some of the riders :!: But as some of my friends would say :!: Why dont you Scots go with the flow " Its an Arena thing "
  14. Anyone know if the SWC is on in France on Saturday ! :-( I fly out on Sat morning :!: :x Come on Lads you can do it ! A nice little upset
  15. Much Better Meeting tonight Mind you the winners were a little too far ahead But i must not be over critical must I I thought the Russians rode really well tonight and all the nations played there part Still critical of the amount in the crowd :!: :-(( More in the pits) I dont think the SWC will go back to Denmark for a While :!:
  16. Made for good TV etc. But i think he should have let the Russian ride his own race, I felt he put him off a bit :? ! sorry !
  17. I'm enjoying it CHK, much better than the Arena Vs Ippo match! I suppose Team GB did put up more of a fight than IPPO did :!:
  18. Who thinks the World Team cup has been poor so far :!: Early exit USA :-( Event One. Processional and boring (apart from Joonas ) :-( Event two. Good fight between GB and Australia But no other interest ! :-( Was this event promoted in Denmark or are, all the Danes on holiday ! (Lets avoid the site of empty stadiums again on flagship events)
  19. Have a Heart Dazza what do you want blood :!: :? I tought Floppy was weak link, how times change :? Come on get behind the lads, we haven't lost yet !
