    Clubs Names

Not quite correct, Hackney were called 'Hawks' in 1991.
  2. Dave Morton looked to be a great prospect until he broke his leg in '77, he was already a British League number 1. I really expect he would have progressed far but for this accident. Todd Wiltshire and Tommy Knudsen both spring to mind.
  3. There is a news report of the closure on ITN Source presented by a very young John Stapleton (now on GMTV).
  4. Michael Warren certainly rode for hackney (89-91) and cov (92). I think he may have made an appearance as a local junior on occasions when he first tried to make it, which may explain Glasgow & Reading. Sadly passed away a few years ago.

    Pete Jarman

What sad news, only mentioned Speedy Pete for the 'Great Entertainers' in Backtrack thread a few days ago. RIP
  6. I thought Kenny Carter had been the 'Main Man' in a previous issue?
  7. Steve Lawson Mark Fiora Colin Gooddy Dave Morton (Early days, Crewe etc) Pete Jarman
  8. Loved Moggo to bits but its a BL list, come on! Surprised that Mike Lee hasn't got a mention yet. Soren Sjosten is a great call also.

    Issue 18

Especially trying to dust off the grey matter and do the quiz!
  10. Can be found here: http://www.speedwayplus.com/CustomHouse.shtml
  11. Why not? Eric Boocock? Peter Collins? Tony Millard? Gary Havelock? I'm sure thre must be others who would not prove too expensive
  12. Is 9 John Hooper? 5 May be Mike Warren (but the leathers dont look right).
  13. 3rd down left, I think is Finn Jensen, also same rider is pictured 3rd down on right, and outside him could be Ian Clarke. Cradley rider is most certainly not Kenny Carter. Bottom left is Ivan Mauger
  14. Glad you didnt use 'quote'!! If I had typed it my computer would have crashed at the last sentence!
  15. Excellent as usual. One word though to Tony Mc though - Quote from Page 7 'By 1985, London no longer even had a speedway venue'! Surely the Kestrels weren't so bad that you deleted them from memory!!!!
  16. I think: Top right is Alan Wilkinson
  17. Click on the front page of the Mag (shown below), for £16 you will get 6 bi-monthly Mags starting with Issue 10 (out this week).
  18. Think the Reading 7 may be Hans Wassermann?? Is that about the right time?
