  1. Injured rider continues to ride! Hold the front page! Although he didn't complete his last two.
  2. I often miss read the vibe on this forum or tbh I often find it difficult to imagine where people will go with their thinking. I was going to post something else but before that I need to clarify this. When Collins (World Final 2nd), Carter (British Final 1st) & Moran (World Longtrack 1st) chased personnel glory whilst injured but failed to line up for their league clubs, everybody thought then or thinks now that it stinks/dodgy/unfair (delete as appropriate) that those league clubs got a facility?
  3. Zagar didn't complete his last two rides yesterday. I hope he has not made matters worse trying things out. The doctors seem to think he has. Gutted.
  4. Bugger, but if he's not up to league racing anywhere then so be it. Fair play for trying things out whilst representing just yourself and being honest enought to say your not right. I think I and many others would have thrown a leg over a bike and took the money as long as we could get round. That's 12k you've passed up, honesty in the EL, shall we have him stuffed?
  5. A galant effort from the Ace even when not fit. It puts me in mind of PC back in '77 when he finished second in the world with a mashed up leg. We breed 'em strong up here as Garrity scored paid four in the two races after he reportedly broke his ankle. As with both those two I'd say the same to Zagar, don't ride pal, it was worth a try put if you 'ain't right then call it quits.
  6. We had a guest for Josh for compassionate reasons following the Lewis Kerr crash. Kevin Wolbert guested.
  7. A ten day break for Dakota whilst he gets his head together and finds out the full prognosis of his father will do him the world of good. If the Aces make the final I for one would miss him in the first leg as he is dynamite around Kirky Lane, one of the best and great to watch. My enjoyment though pales into insignificance when compared to a sons concern for his injured father.
  8. It's bad what's happened to Dak's father and as other riders have done its right he should take some compassionate leave. Missing the next two Poole meetings before taking his place with his team mates for a hoped for winning celebration seems the best option for him in these trying times.
  9. Are there any plans or artist impressions on how it will look? It would be good to run the Premiership trophy next season if it's ready between the two new stadiums.
  10. Yeh, I think it was when the tubes of blood photo came out that I was feeling how lucky we are.
  11. In their last nine meetings Swindon have won four. In their last nine meetings Belle Vue have lost one. I'd like to think we can win the second leg. Looking at The Aces scores from the first leg nobody except Josh pulled up any trees. At the Abbey, 11 from AJ & 8 from Scott seems doable from 5 rides apiece. I'd be disappointed with 4 & 6 from Max and Craig and the reserves should get around 12 between them. Maybe peg Josh back to 5 and that makes 46. Should be a good one. Up the Aces!
  12. Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them. Bruce Lee
  13. I'm happy to concede the point and agree with you. So the Pirates have another two titles on the trot to match Belle Vue's four but they'd have to add yet another one to match Wembleys five on the trot. The race is on.
  14. No need for The Aces to stop Poole as this is the Elite League whereas The Aces achievements were in the British League. Comparing different competitions some 43 years apart is, well, no comparison. You many as well compare what The Aces achieved in the 70's with their four on the trot triumph in the National League only 36 year previous.
  15. Good grief man! I'd made reference to the robins gaining points due to a robins inflicted re run and the heat 15 likely result, so that was the six points. I don't count the joker when comparing rider scores much like it's not counted in averages. Surely you knew all this, didn't you?
  16. arrrghhh!! When will Lady Luck cut us some slack? If, as I'm told every year the luck evens itself out then over the next one or three matches we're going to be the luckiest team going. I'm not talking about the referee either we known they are going to favour the opposition, thats a given. The Robins fall then get a better result in the re run and then the heavens open before our last hurrah, so a 20 point lead becomes 14. Well done to The Aces on a thoroughly deserved victory and well done to Charles. They often come back to haunt us but we'll keep churning these lads out for the good of British speedway. Top scorer, a fine effort lad.
  17. I do get my back up sometimes especially when false accusation of lying are made and I'll alway speak out against it. Personnel I found the article to be in bad taste and I'll just have to take it on the chin that many are ok with it. Similarly I don't like it when riders are replaced by guests willy nilly and without good cause but again if people are fine with that who am I to question their beliefs. I don't like seeing British lads messed about and wish we did more for them to prosper, likewise I long for a return to the days when we ruled the roost. I understand these days it's not the done thing to fanatically wave the Union Jack so apologise if I unintentionally upset anyone. I do have a bee in my bonnet about the Russell's and rarely air my thoughts. Again I'm sorry about that as I misjudged the mood when it comes to these two as they appear to be well liked on here. Looking forward to tonight though, if it's anything like the previous two meeting when the robins came to Kirky Lane then speedway will be the winner. Up The Aces!!
  18. So here we go, having lost a heatleader to a career ending injury and running guests at number one. Not ideal but here's hoping we pull through. It'll be tight with luck playing its part, and we must be due some of that by now.
  19. Pleased he's apologised. We know he's a bit erratic so things of this nature are always regretful likely to happen. Got to love the power of the Internet.
  20. Whilst many people are saying this is just mind games, to have an injured rider at the centre of it, especially at this delicate moment within speedway is just sick. I think this is Tossiterds last throw of the dice before he goes back to lorry driving full time. We can't have a lowlife like him using injured people to score points in the press involved in the sport. I find it upsetting that someone would have a go at a team that has lost their number one to a genuine injury. Awful. #staystrongdarcy
