  1. Had a chat with Jason Crump last night and got an update on Darcy whilst buying my wristband of Lemo. With all that and a good nights sleep I've had a rethink about the Dak situation. Firstly apologises for my outbursts yesterday but sometimes things happen in this sport I love that just send me over the edge. Having had time to reflect I still can't believe what's been alleged has actually happened and Dak needed this time away from the sport due to his fathers unfortunate accident. I think the situation we are in now is the Poole management are putting pressure on Dak to ride probably due to him being one of, if not the best visiting rider at Kirky Lane. I think this will backfire though as I can see him scoring 2-4 points when he is good for 8 normally. His mental state will be all over the place due to his concern for his poor father and this I feel will limit his normal high scoring performance. Good luck to all for tonight and stay safe everyone.
  2. If I had to pick a cheat from the back catalogue it would have been missing passport or bad back or maybe something to do with getting a plane to Vegas but using a family members injury is just horrific! How badly do you want this for Christ's sake?
  3. I would of assumed he was just a patsy in Frauds plan but I get the feeling he was complicit in the cheating manoeuvres. Just been a bit sick in my mouth.
  4. Yeh right. A wind up and not in particularly good taste.
  5. Worst GP of the campaign from the injured Zagar. Why does he insist on riding when injured?? Probably trying to protect his fourth in the world placing or maybe push on for a medal but not doing himself any favours physically.
  6. I guess for me it'll become clear if Dak rides on Monday. On one hand it means his Dad's injuries (thankfully) weren't as bad as we were led to believe but on the other hand it means Poole have cheated again which isn't in the best interests of UK speedway.
  7. I think you could be right here, though I hope I'm wrong. It's not looking good for Poole if this is the case and I say if as the alternative is unthinkable.
  8. Nobody is going to lie or exaggerate about injuries to a family member just to gain a few points in a speedway meeting. Just the thought of it is sickening and needs to be rembered by some posters on here. Stress/depression is to be taken very seriously, as in this case. So I miss out on seeing one of the best riders around Kirky Lane on Monday, it's a shame but I can see the bigger picture.
  9. When people attacked my club with good reason I didn't defend them. Right is right and wrong is wrong.
  10. I think the viewing figuares are good because it's a title decider. People like to watch those whether it's in the form of play offs or not. The problem is being around for the decider when it's run as a normal league campaign which is pretty much what Vincent was saying.
  11. So getting someone else to foot the bill who doesn't have the emotional connection to Belle Vue and looks at it from a purely buisness point of view is even more amazing. Hadn't thought of that, thanks. Thinking Mort said something is very different to the reality of the situation. Crowds have been ok, even up to the point when Leicester won at Kings Lynn handing The Aces a play off life line. I'll tell him what he is supposed to have said when I see him next.
  12. I'm confused as if your team is not challenging for the play offs crowds are bad and you potentially go bust. At Belle Vue we've not been in the play offs for years, had good support and managed to get a multi million pound new stadium built. Real life events do sometimes scupper opinions.
  13. I think that illustrates what a big miss Dak will be.
  14. It's my opinion that making the play off final is in Fords business plan and he banks on it rather that has it as a potential nice bonus. It's the only reason I can see that make him do dodgy stuff over the years when as you say there is often no need.
  15. I'm usually as quick as anyone to jump on the Poole cheating bandwagon but in the case of Dak I can't see it. Sure they replaced him with a good scoring Kennett but following their result in the first leg, they could have had me in the team and still won the tie so they only real advantage they got was the margin of victory. This though pales into insignificance when compared to losing Dak at Kirky Lane as he is pretty much certain of a double figure score on one of his favourite tracks. It could in all honesty swing the tie our way.
  16. When I read about the 8 month build plan that some official stated I thought that won't work. Following the build at Belle Vue you know 8 means 10 and if the paperwork is still to be submitted then that's 2 months away and that being optimistic. Fair enough, these things happen so just run another year at the old track. Wait a minute though. The next meeting is a farewell to the old track, so the current promotion are expecting the new track to be ready for next season. The two scenarios don't add up.
  17. Rosco must have an idea about what's what given his passion for the robins He won't want to see them fold and he has access to the people in the know. What's his thoughts?
  18. I think Dak will be a big miss for the pirates at Kirky Lane as he's good for double figures there, great to watch as well.
  19. Must admit debating on here is a lost cause. I feel like Paxman interviewing some oily politician where straight questions get ignored as, if answered it would knock a large hole in their argument. "Did you threaten to overrule him"? "Did you threaten to overrule him"? "Did you threaten to overrule him"?
  20. That's exactly what I asked Eurosport via email. Why show it in this country when the Brits are barred? Madness.
  21. I don't get what Zagar is getting out of this? We know as it's been brought up again on here that he gets his money if he scores 1, 2 or 15. Why would he cost himself money. If it's not about the money and he can't be arsed then why would he travel to the dinner dance we held last November when there was no £3k on offer. Top and bottom of it is you would rather tackle an Aces side tracking an injured rider. Appalling!
  22. Must admit there is a train of thought that I had not seen coming and it's one I'm not comfortable with. People aren't happy that we have AJ in, which more or less compensates for an injured Zagar. People would rather see us weaken with a lesser rider say a 6 point PL rider to cover for Zagar or more distressingly they would like an unfit Zagar to take his place and ride round as this would offer the opposition an advantage. Grim.
