National Speedway Stadium Opening Tickets Now On Sale
ouch replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
5500 already sold with another 500 being released if the test event goes well with H&S. With sponsorships, hospitality, parking, bar, food, programme and merchandise sales they will take between £120'000 and £150'000 from the event. -
I'm pretty sure that an Aces v pirates Sky meeting cannot be called off due to the weather until Poole "win". Just ask Tony Steele. Remember him?
-
True, but I took the term dominant in Steve's original post to be confined to winners and in that context The Aces have faired as well as most recently as you either win or you don't, second or last means nothing - in this context If you take the word dominant in its broadest terms on a match by match basis then The Aces are streets ahead. We may have won more trophies than the rest but much to my annoyance we are by far the greatest team at coming second. The last ten years have been a definite trade off for our pursuit of the new stadium that secures our long term future. In Aces terms it's been short term pain for long term gain.

Most dominate team in the sports history is Belle Vue. Most dominate team in a given period depends on the given period and gets messy. Have people forgotten rider control? One year we had to choose between Mauger and Collins. We would have kept both if a points limit was in place and changed the order further down and then carried on winning championships.

I'd go along with the general consensus of Belle Vue & Poole at the top though this can quickly change with the fluid nature of modern day teams. For me though The Aces have a good team with the potential to under perform but as a fan I have to believe they will continue their steep improvement that saw them, cheating aside end as a championship side. Coventry will be in there as always, especially if the Pole under performs and is efficiently replaced. Kings Lynn will start well and it's in their hands how they play the numbers game when it comes to NKI's departure. Lakeside will be Lakeside, good at home but poor away. Bridger is the key and I for one hope he succeeds. Leicester will finish bottom but I hope Patrick has a good year. Poole have a strong top end as they "managed" to sign four heat leaders and coupled with the dodgy draft has made them once again tainted favourites. Swindon will be one of the most attractive visitors in my mind and if the Aussies gee each other up they can pull off some good results. Wolves have a Belle Vue of old feel about them and will frustrate their fans with inconsistent results. I like Sam and Kyle so hopefully they will both do well. If it is a replay of last year and The Aces continue their improvement then I'd go for an Aces victory with the pirates needing to cheat again to mirror last years result. Whatever happens this year as an Aces fan it's going to be memorable. See you all at the new place and safe competition to all the lads on track.

This will certainly make BSI think when pricing tickets for the GP series. Until now the start finish has been the premium seats when all along its bends 1 & 2. -

Should be fine as its positioned the same as the old place. -
Job done!

It would need to be two consecutive days as only once a week wouldn't give enough days to run the amount of fixtures we currently have. If a team dropped out or we only rode each team once then once a week might work. Also I could foresee Thursday becoming an issue for the GP lads as they would fairly soon come out with the excuse that they don't want Thursday then practice then GP.

Did you request delivery or collection? It should say on your order confirmation email. -
That was my question when The Aces were fined and docked 3 match points. Still waiting.

The heat leader list was a good idea badly executed as is the case with so many things in this great sport of ours. Sure there will be borderline riders that will divide opinion but when there is a glaring error where frankly opinion doesn’t enter into it, then the compiling of the list appears tainted with self-interest and just once again seems down right dodgy. Buczkowski averaged 6.48 when he finished third in Leicester’s averages in 2014. MMJ averaged 6.52 when he finished third in Coventry’s averages in 2014. Both missed 2015. One is on the list but one isn’t. If you look at Rory Schlein, he averaged 6.22 when he finished third in King’s lynn’s averages in 2014. He did ride in 2015 averaging 6.24. He is on the list, despite suffering a near career ending injury. If Schein and MMJ are on the list then fine but Buczkowski should be on the list, no question, no debate. If Buczkowski is not on the list then neither should Schlein or MMJ, no question, no debate. Anybody involved in the compilation of the list who can’t see this is either thick or biased or both. Buczkowski’s omission from the list seems dodgy whoever signs him but when he is signed up the week following the list being assembled by perennial cheaters Poole then it just heightens the sense that something isn’t right. It’s my opinion that a club signing Schlein as one of their allotted heat leaders is at a disadvantage to a club who signs Buczkowski without using up one of the heat leader spots. Before we get the anybody can sign this rider or that rider or that some promoters are smarter than others, well I’m afraid it doesn’t wash with me following the “shrewd” signing of Kildemand a few years back.

Surely it's not compulsory to have a job share at number 1? If you and your top man are happy to do a full season then great, if not then job share. I don't see this promoters problem.

30 Fridays before the cutoff, less 11 GP's and 1 SWC leaves 18 usable Fridays.

That must mean they haven't cheated then.

Merry Christmas one and all. XX -
The back straight cover at the National Speedway Stadium is massive.
-
Ok, try this one. If a rider puts both wheels over the white line by mistake he should not be disqualified?
-
Is it an act of dishonesty to have a silencer fall off or when you go over the 2 minutes as you are fitting the rider replacement tyre, both would gain you an advantage?
