Ipswich have agreed to these decisions, they would have voiced their objections otherwise - yes? -

Anti women isn't funny. It's funny how you can pick out the most notable female PM Why not talk about Boris Johnson? -

Could do with a clutch cam so we can see the lads feathering it on the way to the first bend. After that it’s game over. -

Unfortunately, I can see a repeat of Mondays meeting. We need to market it as an alternative to counting sheep. -

The sport is littered with the “I woulds” who are no longer involved in the sport. It’s not worth the hassle of getting an outside representative to ensure the rules are adhered to all the time as you end up being ostracised and sitting in the tent being peed on. Since early this century, trophies have been won in the offices and refs boxes of our sport and not in the track. -

I’m racking my brains and I cannot for the life of me think of an instance where people have agreed to something under duress or reluctantly. Every agreement in speedway and history as a whole has been reached with full and happy acceptance by all those involved. -

I think you’re both right tbh. The FIM fixture list has Thursday 19/09/24 set aside for UK & Swedish fixtures and the Poles down for Friday 20/09/24. https://www.fim-moto.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Documents/2024/2024_Speedway_Leagues_calendar_-_29.05.2024.pdf?t=1719520222 The most recent list 10/09/24 states the same for those dates. However… The fixture list also has Thursday 08/08/24 as UK and Sweden but as we now know, Poland rearranged a meeting for that date following a rain off and took rider(s) lined up for the UK. This result was added to the FIM fixture list. https://www.fim-moto.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Documents/2024/2024_Speedway_Leagues_calendar_-_10.09.2024.pdf?t=1725976952 I cannot find any official statement about Thursday for this season but it looks like the FIM planned our days and Poland just did what they want. Glad the fixture has been moved and like has been said it’s a step in the right direction with regards working together. -
I think Mark thought he was nailed on as an Ace when he brought him over and helped him settle in. I don’t blame Keynan for going for the better deal, I’d have done the same.

As with Monday, this is a gating contest, pure & simple. -
Only time Dan has not ridden in the UK was 2022, when we signed him but Sheffield, Wolves & Kings Lynn stopped it. https://www.fimspeedway.com/news/godfrey-hits-back-at-bewley-signing-claims

I think most if not all fans are not unhappy with the Emil situation. It’s more a reaction to the riders who were banned for said same situation previously. -
A day in the life of SCB/BSPL. Phil : Are we banning Emil like the others? Neil : No, ‘cause we like him. Phil : Yeh but you can’t put that in the press release. Neil : Why not? Phil : It wouldn’t look professional. Neil : ???? It's already done anyway and no I didn’t mention we like him, I’m not an idiot you know. Phil : What reason did you give. Neil : Tired. Phil : FFS! Why that, surely there’s something better, where is our rule book? Neil: It’s under the table leg to stop it wobbling. Phil: Go get it. Neil : Here you go. Phil : Why’s it covered in hot chocolate? Neil : I just spilt a full mug ‘cause the table wobbled, sorry. Phil : Why didn’t you put, suffering from severe laceration? Neil : Couldn’t spell laceration. Phil : Just put cut! Neil : Couldn’t spell severe, i before e and all that. I can’t spell a lot of rider names as you know. Phil : Yes, that’s why you make everyone use Chris Harris as a guest so it makes your paperwork easier. Neil : And he’s my friend. Phil : What’s all this mayo ffs? Neil : I spilt mayo on the wobbly table and used the rule book to clean it up. Ha! and some fans say the rule book is useless. Phil : It’s f%#}^ everywhere. Neil : I didn’t JUST put tired. Phil : Thank god, what else did you write? Who’s calling you. Neil : Matt Bates, he’s asking if we can move another piano for him? Phil : If it involves a massive flight of stairs again, it’s a no. Anyway what else did you say? Neil : I said he was thirsty. Phil : F*%% my life, you do know they’re calling for my head on social media. Who’s ringing you now? Neil : It’s Chris, he’s asked if he can guest for two teams in the same meeting. Phil : No! Neil : I asked how quick he can change kevlars. Phil : What did he say. Neil : If he goes too fast his inflatable vest goes off and he looks like a small Cornish hulk. Phil : Small Cornish hulk, I like that, we could use that. Where’s the ideas book. Neil : Under the table. Phil : Right, covered in mayo and hot chocolate. Neil : Yes. I didn’t think we’d need it, we haven’t before. Phil : Who’s ringing NOW? Neil : It’s the transponder rep. Phil : Tell him no, we’ve still got loads. Neil : He’s got more cheese & onion crisps. Phil : No, not falling for that again. Neil : He’s come back with popping candy. Phil : Hmmm, tell him Monday, early evening. I don’t think there’s anything happening. Where’s the diary? Neil : Errrrrr, don’t know - it’s definitely, absolutely not under the table.

There is a rule that says “ No facility is permitted to replace a rider, who although included in a re-declaration has not made an appearance for that team since being re-declared. Yet if a declared rider decides he’s got a better offer abroad and bins off his UK team, a facility WAS allowed. As Superace says, “rules will be changed to suit”, some. Whether rules exist or not is purely incidental for some teams.
-
There’s no rule that a rider can come back on an assessed average (say 8.20), doesn’t turn a wheel then the the next season comes in on a lower average (say 8.00 this time) due to the fact he didn’t fit otherwise - but it happened. As Superace says, “rules will be changed to suit”, some.

It is black and white. Emil completed a foreign league meeting then failed to attend an official fixture in the UK so going off past implementation he will be banned. Do I think he should be banned? No, as he has 100% more holes in his arse than is the norm and the Poles don’t give a monkeys. I like Emil so think he shouldn’t be banned, if it was a rider or team I disliked then I’d say ban him. I think that kind of thinking makes me ideally placed to be the next SCB arbitrator, from a consistency point of view. -

We’ve bucked the trend and trotted out Aces all season. Technically Antti & Jake were guests for two meetings plus Harris guested once, which I believe is a contractural obligation of all clubs so we’ve not done so bad. The racing is great at home too.
-
Do clubs still buy riders off other teams? I wouldn’t. I’d offer a team place to a lad and if things got in the way I’d move on to the next.
-
Nobody had a choice, if the rules were used. We’re not talking about how it should have been, we are now talking about how they rigged it.

Looking at the form guide as we enter the play offs, the Lions are looking good. 6 wins out of the last 7 meetings with super wins away at Birmingham & Ipswich and a disappointing loss at Kings Lynn. The Aces on the other hand look vulnerable. 5 wins out of the last 7 meetings with fortunate wins away at Birmingham & Ipswich and an expected loss at Kings Lynn. -
Anybody that thinks Belle Vue choose Sheffield and the financial effect that has as opposed to picking Ipswich need to give their head a wobble. This is up there with “we’re changing the rules and you cannot use Lambert to replace your injured rider”. Do we really need to haul someone in from outside to ensure the rules are adhered to? I thought sticking to the rule book was a given.

3000 x £25, plus programme and bar/food from a play off final. If we’d had a chance to “fix” it we would have gone with Ipswich (definite win) or Leicester (maybe win, we’ve done it once this year). The last team we would have picked is Sheffield who have defeated us on aggregate 3 times already in the last 5 months. Sheffield picked us as it’s a definite win for them and they will get a bigger crowd for the semi than for the final as we bring the most fans. The extra fans we get with Sheffield being near is marginal when compared to Leicester and a good 20-30 more when compared to Ipswich. Just hope this latest BSPL stunt doesn’t sink us.
