  1. So I've got a few hours to cancel our hotel and train tickets Great.
  2. Don't rise to it. Bewitcher is a troll nothing more. He spouts opinions as fact whilst disregarding all factual information from all sources and resorts to continued name calling and derogatory comments that only serve to attack the poster not the post. He's now in my ignore box along with the racist and the bloke who's a bit "slow".
  3. Is the meeting off or are Sky just not showing it?
  4. Everyday is a learning day and after decades of following the sport I'm always prepared to learn something new. Riders don't get better results on their home track. I concede and point taken. Sorry if I came over as a troll.
  5. Not his home track. Pedantic but predictable. Riders get better results at their home track. Anyone who has any knowledge of speedway or isn't a troll knows that of course.
  6. I wasn't discussing big and small tracks I was discussing Monmore and a n other - surely you got that? I amended my original post after checking figures but don't let facts getting in the way of a biased opinion. Seems the default for this forum now a days. Sad.
  7. Glad we agree for once. I wouldn't say Woffinden is particularly poor on big tracks it's just Monmore has always given him an advantage results wise. I thought that was just my opinion but I've checked the home and away averages for the seasons before he ditched wolves and it shows his scoring was greater at "home".
  8. It would be an open field anyway, with it not being held at his home track. He only won it last year 'cause Garrity forgot his stabilizers.
  9. Firstly well done to The Aces on a fine result with a good all round performance. Kings Lynn shouldn't be too dishearten by the result as people have been going on for months about the top two so was the loss a shock? There are plenty of other teams in the league and if you beat them then you're in the play offs, something you didn't achieve last year. The biggest thing Buster needs to address is the gate and go nature of the track. I've stopped visiting what was one of my favourite tracks as the entertainment was not good. Previously even though I knew Belle Vue would lose the racing would be good but not now. He doesn't have the dog track constraints so I don't know what's going on. The Aces have generally had races in the team and we've been caught out at Lynn before but it looks like they worked on their gating knowing where they were to race. With Mads and Robert in your team a race track is essential. Funny thing is you guys will probably fair better at the NSS.
  10. Lets hope we hold all the aces and can trump you stars leaving you feeling flushed.
  11. So Sky think it might be off? I'm getting a bit pig sick of other parties sticking their oar in about the viability of a fixture going ahead! We were planning to go to this but we'll all give it a miss now.
  12. Just got back and what a farce that was. I set of from Anglesey yesterday about 2pm having check Kings Lynn's website, all good. I was cutting it a bit fine but my mate was working down there and he was calling at the box office to get the tickets. He'd also sorted a hotel as after a long trip I didn't want another back to Manchester. Imagine my horror when I arrived to find it off! I caught up with my mate - tickets in hand- and he said it was cancelled around the time I started my journey. I don't check my phone whilst driving as it's dangerous and safety to me is paramount. There had been the usual tittle tattle on social media but nothing official before I left. I can't begin to tell you how angry I'm what with fuel and hotel costs. I don't think I'll see that but I'll wait for the announcement on ticket refunds so I can at least recoup that. What with my visit to Somerset then planned trips to Peterborough and Plymouth being cancelled and the Belle Vue fiasco I'm fed up with speedway and we're still in March.
  13. Err, those are the only two options any promotion can say. I'm i correct in thinking that the consensus on this forum is it's ok for other promotions to announce an event is cancelled before the staging promotion?
  14. If we can get some case studies off these outsiders then it may help in the pursuit of compensation from speedway clubs. I've been to concerts, theatre performances, a comedian that didn't show, trains that didn't run meaning I missed a London show the list goes on but unlike most on here I've only ever had at best a ticket refund. I'm feeling a bit foolish now I know it's the norm to get associated cost reimbursed but like I say if we can use your success stories to put pressure on speedway clubs then fill this thread guys.
  15. Yes they where checking whats what as they were only obligated to allow the ticket be used for the re run or another meeting. They said bugger that we're offering refunds to those who want it! Fair play I say, I've been bitten on the arse by other so called promotions or worse still seen them blatantly get to the cut off point for refunds then chucking us out, though some of those were Sky/SCB lead. Rider safet is paramount my arse. If we can do it way can't the rest? Up The Aces at the NSS!!
  16. It looks like there's been an under the radar rule change re the responsibility of calling meetings off. Previously it had been the SCB by way of the referee but they have made the statement that's is not them. It's now down to the riders which is fair enough as they put their necks on the line. I think this rule change has been brewing for a while, remember the meeting at Kirky Lane where a GP rider crashed due to conditions but riders were told to got out for the rerun. Nobody crashed in the rerun and it was then deemed unsafe. The riders have a point in wanting ultimate control when things like this or the Coventry fiasco last year - where two riders were fined by the SCB when they refused to ride on a track they deemed dangerous -happen. People who know more than me have commented that this process needs a majority vote among the riders but to be honest if 50% feel it's unsafe then it should be off as rider safety is paramount and if half the competitors thinks it's dangerous then its dangerous. This would also stop the ridiculous situation where half the field gets fined as has happened in the past for refusing to ride an unfit track. I've seen riders rider in some truly terrible conditions and on some awful tracks over the years many times with the words "let's just get a result" ringing in their ears. Now the chant is rider safety and not a moment too soon.
  17. That's a weight off. At least we can all move on now.
  18. It's happened hundreds of time before and if the sport keeps going will happen hundreds of times again.
  19. The same mystery person told Wolves & Cradley but this person refuses to come forward now. Toby Lorone - please read it carefully, did the Edingburgh announcement.
