What's needed is a promotional team so passionate about the venture that should the council refuse to pay for items that they initially agreed to pay then this promotion steps in to keep the ship sailing. If there's any problems at the stadium during the season that are directly the fault of the council and/or its contractors who then refuse to take any financial fall out, it would help to have a promotion who would temporarily shoulder the burden whilst negotiating with the council on the rights and wrongs of the situation and also to keep the fans onboard and not out of pocket. After all that its important that should the promotion experience difficulties of this nature that a plan is in place that would see all outstanding bills paid by the beginning of November. The icing on the cake would be a promotion that can assemble a team that would see The Aces sat at the top of the table. All a pipe dream I know as who could find a promotional team capable of all that? Oh I forgot the most important bit, the promotion need to be buddies of Keith Chapman as if not the whole thing will appear to be a failure.

The quality of racing and the view you get at The NSS is really special. Bucking the trend and doubling the crowd figures made for an excellent atmosphere. Watching the Brits from young Kyle and Dan though to Scotty, with Craig and the Worrall's in between was a joy as was the GB performance in the SWC on that memorable night. The Ace flying high at the top of the table plus having the chance to meet and chat with the riders after meetings. Forget the politics and back biting etc, speedway is still the most passionate, adrenaline fuelled sport you can get.

We averaged 1800 for EL meetings. This was pumped up by the BH fixtures and the final. Had the track been ready we could have factored in PCM & Easter and that would have pushed the average attendance over 2000. This was done without any marketing budget due to outside influences so next season done properly I'd expect attendances to average between 2000 and 2500. If Buster keeps pushing it won't be done properly and the long term future won't be good, as is the case with British speedway as a whole. The truth will come out.

After he pulled out of the British Final last year I said it has robbed the British public of the chance to see him in action. Even though the money wasn't great I said it's not about financial reward or anything like that. He wouldn't change his mind so I had no choice but to accept the decision. Shame all that wasted merchandise for the Tai Woffinden Awesome Testimonial.

Looking better now that my big fat gypsy promoter is not involved. Not what he wanted but it's better for us Aces than his puppet promoters would have been. So like Hitler he failed to stop The Aces. We also dodged a bullet at No1 today, imo. Might even get my season ticket for Christmas. Buster, as a Geordie might describe him "Norfolk and good"

She's a rather plump lady and she's currently clearing her throat for the final curtain. 😩

Sounds like you're up to speed on events there mate.

I've no problem with riders giving it back as long as it's in the same pantomime style it was delivered by the crowd. Similarly I'd be happy to see more Cook style behaviour, it never amounts to anything and is soon forgotten between the competitors. If it ever goes too far there are plenty of folk about to reign it in. It all adds to the occasion and I wouldn't even mind if it was staged now and then just to spice things up. When the riders give it back they have to be mindful of kids and not do anything too risky but there is plenty they can do to get the crowd going. Speedway crowds aren't the sort to start rioting either so I see no harm in it. I actually miss the villains of yesteryear and the extra entertainment they brought. I think one of the big problems with the sport is it's lost sight of the fact it's an entertainment and more often than not it's about amassing points and getting it over with.

We lost a lot of juniors whilst spending money on getting the NSS out of the ground. Doesn't seem worth it now. Anyway back to team building. Steve Worrall Charles Wright Richie Worrall Kyle Howarth Jason Garrity Matt Williamson Joe Lawlor

That's over by nearly 1.5 points. Remove Richie and add in MPT or Auty.

Just had a bit of sick in my mouth.

How much are the riders worth and if you add it to all the stuff at the nss that belongs to the old promotion plus the bond what would it come to?

Cook B.Kurtz Nicholls S. Worrall Hougaard Bewley/Williamson Smith/Bickley Or Fricke MPT Cook S.Worrall Hougaard Bewley/Williamson Smith/Bickley Fantasy purposes only of course.

Speedway World Cup 2017
ouch replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Who'd of guessed. Go Buster. -
The Bradford district of Manchester is a mile or so from the NSS, indeed Odsal stadium is only 20 odd miles away. Looks like now even the BSPAces are out in favour of The Bradford Dukes. Makes sense I suppose.
-
It also brought the capacity down from 6000 to 5000. Bloody builders.
-
The BSPA gaining control of the NSS was a major coup.
-
I hope your builders are better than those that are building the NSS as its still not finished. We had to put temporary stands and porta loos in to help the situation. It caused havoc at the SWC and people had to pee up against fences. It's like getting a council house then being told the bathroom is in a marquee in the back garden. A mate of mine refused to pay his rent as his kitchen wasn't finished or usable. He was told legally that paying the rent would signify his acceptance of the condition of the property which could have seen remedial work postponed. Things to bear in mind with your build.
-
Actually if they have two double headers like the other year and only race 15 nights then it's over £23000 in rent per night. With the fact that's it's probably the wettest city in the world that is very likely. This is very concerning.
-
No idea. 60 years was ok but 24 is not. Manchester Evening News 09/04/2014 "The council will borrow most of the extra cash itself, to be repaid by tenants Belle Vue Aces over the next 24 years. They will pay the maximum possible rent over that period in order to minimise the councils risks, says the report". It's obviously now 23 years with nothing paid off the 8 mill. If they run only 17 meetings that's £20460 per meeting. I'm guessing admission will come down to £15 then take off the VAT to give £12. You need over 1700 on the terraces just to cover that.
-
Indeed. £8million to pay back over 23 (clock's ticking) years with 20 matches per year as I'm guessing they'll make the play offs and progress through the cup. If it's only over 17 matches it's even worse and I've not allowed for Prudential Borrowings interest charges.
-
Holder Wilkinson Robson Risager Osterguaard Branford Boxhall If Skornicki comes back to the UK they'll probably slot him in somewhere.
-
It'll be a right hotch porch of unwanted journeymen lining up for the BSPAces next year. Very appetising. Save us over £1600 next year so every cloud and that. They're going to need every penny they can get with what works out at nearly £17'000 rent per meeting. I thought the dog track was dear at £5000. Ouch!

Most In-demand Riders For The 2017 Season
ouch replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think Cook (6), Zagar (4) and Nicholls (3) will be in high demand as they are not bothered about being paid as they kept signing for Belle Vue. Well according to the in the know types on here.
