  1. In speedway terms the guy's toxic. The BSPA were probably sick of his gibber jabber from the sidelines and decided to appointment him knowing he'd be this bad (well maybe not this bad) so they can oust him later and suddenly look good. Tbh anything would look good compared to this clown, please Buster, just go.
  2. Gate an go once again at Poole, they need to address that if only for the holiday season.
  3. I can see another strongly worded statement from the BSPA, similar in tone to the one issued back in March.
  4. I love little seaside towns like Poole, it allows a chance to escape from the hustle & bustle of big city life. Manchester like most major cities in the world is incredibly full on where the frustration is what to do with so much to choose from every night. Being a 24 hour city means when you do decide its party on into early morning. After a while you just need to wind down with only the sound of crashing waves to attract your attention. People may scoff but sitting in a deckchair with an ice cream and knotted hankie is the perfect antidote to the bright lights big city. It's like stepping back in time a few decades to simpler times, somehow less sophisticated. Just writing this makes me want to make a visit but the dam diary won't allow it for a good few weeks. Viva Poole, may you never change.
  5. £35 for the World Cup race off and final AND parking. Has it ever been cheaper? Go Belle Vue.
  6. It'll be good to see MPT. I've always liked him and think if he had a stable of consistently good bikes would be a star.
  7. I've not seen much Poole bashing this season. Fans don't like cheating whoever does it they don't just wait till Poole cheat before going on about their dislike of cheating. It's not anti Poole bias it's the fact they don't like cheating. No problem with my memory and I was and still am one of the most vocal about what they did. As I say fans don't like it irrespective of which team it is. The Belle Vue management took to the media all those years ago to apologise for their actions whereas Ford says in the press how he isn't happy for being found out. See the difference?
  8. It says a lot about the Poole fans that they feel hard done to for being found cheating. It's so ingrained down there it's the norm to them and this sense of injustice they have is staggering. Weird.
  9. Gate an go once again at Poole, they need to address that if only for the holiday season.
  10. They say in sport it's the narrowest of margins between success and failure and that's the case here. Had the ref handled Sergeant's fall the same as Roses then the bees would be basking in the glory of a memorable comeback even discounting the golden double. The racing was good, no question. 6. Iversen passed Bates. 7. Harris & KK passed Schlein. 9. Barker and Batchelor had a great race. 10. Harris passed Iversen. 12. Woryna passed Busk. 13. Iversen and Harris had a good race. 14. Bates passed Schlein. 15. KK passed Batchelor. Sky meetings get bad crowds everyone should know that even the ones quick to have (another) pop at Belle Vue last week when we only got around 1000. £10 admission doesn't work, we've tried it many times, it just hits your bottom line. Having said that this was a major own goal for the save the bees campaign. There should have been more of a presence and the riders should have had special one off body covers exposing the blight to the watching masses. All EL clubs get a payout off Sky plus I believe 10k for a TV meeting. Admission income for a regular meeting is around 15k so clubs only need pull 5k from the Sky fund to "break even" were they to let everyone in for free. Similar to Lakeside many years ago clubs should run one Sky match per year where admission is free. It would market the sport to the local population in a way that no other activity could and with Sky propping things up it shouldn't expose the clubs financially. Also if you had an idea that 5k plus people might attended then the potential to find a match sponsor with TV coverage thrown in shouldn't be too difficult. Fingers crossed for Brandon btw.
  11. Matts saw the 40 meetings we scheduled at the start of the year and wants to emulate that, good on him I say. Though we'd currently struggle to have another GP rider in the team due to points limits another squad member would be good to keep Zagar on his toes. We're trying different racedays to gauge response with currently only Tuesday & Thursday not being used this year. It's all about testing things out and to have Ford on board looking for positive change can only help us. Onwards and upwards I say.
  12. He is 9th overall on current stats. If he was only 0.27 higher he'd be number 1 at four tracks. He's no second string.
  13. No, I'm not taking about the corporate jonnies trying to get rid of their ticket allocation, though they are very handy for getting cheap tickets in decent seats. Since the first one I've never pre bought tickets and always used these guys for bargains as they try to offload unwanted tickets. I meant the SWC tickets will be going for more than face value, not less as with Cardiff.
  14. Just on this, Steve did get in front of PK and this was more pronounced from where I sit near the start line that it looks from the camera on bend four. Steve's positioning would have seen him hold the lead at many tracks but the inside entry to turn three is already over these first few meeting a strong line to take, especially with plenty of speed. You need to do what Joe (just) managed to do against Kyle when he "got over him". Steve wasn't far enough ahead to do this plus PK went strong into the turn to regain his advantage. During the SWC we will see a lot of Gollobesque dive bombs on turn three, it's a move you see coming as they enter the the straight and it really gets the heart pumping.
  15. I think we'll see touts outside speedway for the first time in decades and I'm not talking about the corporate jonnies trying to get rid of their free ticket allocation. Be interesting to see what people end up paying. With all the high profile events in Manchester a lot of the touts are "professional" in that it's the only way they make a (nice) living.
  16. Without taking into account it being live on Sky up against one of the biggest live British football matches in years whilst on a school and off night. After the new lot moved in what was the crowd like at Glasgow for their sixth league match?
  17. Heat 1. Lindgren passed Steve. Karlsson passed Matej. Heat 2. Immense race between Joe and Howarth. Heat 3. Cook and Klindt traded places. Heat 5. Steve passed Clegg. Heat 9. Steve and Thorsell traded places. Heat 10. Karlsson passed Craig. Heat 13. Immense race between Craig and Lindgren. Matej passed Klindt. Heat 15. Masters passed Joe.
  18. Things were bad with Harkness but straight talking no nonsense Chapman has sunk things even further. Fall on your sword man and move on.
  19. Watching racing at the NSS is a marvellous experience.
  20. Just say there's trophy giving ceremony, he'll be there like a shot.
  21. Every time I go to Wolves I buy a badge and a speedway star so it works out a lot more expensive than Belle Vue. Not compulsory I know but it all adds to it and makes a visit to wolves just out of my price bracket I'm afraid.
  22. That is one of the most weirdly inaccurate posts I've ever seen and considered what we get on here it takes some doing. I'm guessing whoever went for Klindt instead of R/R has a similar understanding of all things speedway. Belle Vue need to ensure the outside run is working tonight as the white line specialist in the wolves camp will run us close otherwise. I think for a sky match they should close the back straight and make it £15 to be in the main stand. Maybe even blank off the end section in the stand. If you really must stand then you go near the pits. Clubs have shown that pushing fans into one section of the stadium makes it look better on TV and can create atmosphere. The 1000-1500 that will be there tonight will look sparse on screen when in reality it's 100% up on what we would have got at the dog bowl.
  23. Apparently The Aces first tried this in 1928 and many tracks have copied it with varying degrees of success since then.
  24. The thing is Glasgow have worked on the atmosphere side of things. They are aware the racing isn't good so they've (I'm guessing) reduced the stand size, got kids making lots of noise and have a mascot and rider dancing after a race. A lot of tracks seem to resign themselves that the racing is poor and just go through the motions ticking the heats off.
