  1. That is one of the most weirdly inaccurate posts I've ever seen and considered what we get on here it takes some doing. I'm guessing whoever went for Klindt instead of R/R has a similar understanding of all things speedway. Belle Vue need to ensure the outside run is working tonight as the white line specialist in the wolves camp will run us close otherwise. I think for a sky match they should close the back straight and make it £15 to be in the main stand. Maybe even blank off the end section in the stand. If you really must stand then you go near the pits. Clubs have shown that pushing fans into one section of the stadium makes it look better on TV and can create atmosphere. The 1000-1500 that will be there tonight will look sparse on screen when in reality it's 100% up on what we would have got at the dog bowl.
  2. Apparently The Aces first tried this in 1928 and many tracks have copied it with varying degrees of success since then.
  3. The thing is Glasgow have worked on the atmosphere side of things. They are aware the racing isn't good so they've (I'm guessing) reduced the stand size, got kids making lots of noise and have a mascot and rider dancing after a race. A lot of tracks seem to resign themselves that the racing is poor and just go through the motions ticking the heats off.
  4. Also worth mentioning that Belle Vue had a nice positive piece on BBC's North West tonight yesterday. These press conferences are just another aspect of the excellent PR set up in place at the NSS. Well done.
  5. Belle Vue are the same in that they request riders get in touch beforehand.
  6. It just shows how crazy and vindictive the Belle Vue decision was a few years back though we kind of knew that anyway when other clubs where allowed to get away with the same thing scot free. It's incredible but somehow gratifying the level the powers that be will go to to stick it to Belle Vue. As for awarding Cradley the points, well you just need to study the table to see who they leapfrog. LOL.
  7. That's the first time I've watch the adverts and fast forwarded through the speedway.
  8. Belle Vue programmed 20 Elite standard meetings this year (21 if we make the final) and have always championed PL teams to move up as we are out on a limb EL wise. Squads have been talked about for a long time. Nothing new here but it's still good to see a promoter canvass local opinion to gauged the potential impact to his business.
  9. Colts back in action after a long lay off of home fixtures. Joe and Jon are guests for Dan and Lee so it still keeps a Belle Vue vibe to the team. We lost out to the potters in the rained off cup match but I think they will prove too strong tonight. Potters though have a good few lads who will give the home team plenty to think about so it should be a good match with everyone hopefully remaining safe.
  10. Always glad to see Max do well as with all ex Colts. I can't belive its four years since he first turned out for us. Time flies.
  11. If he's concentrating on his BSPA chairman work I sudder to think what it would be like if he took his eye off it. Thinking about it though, it couldn't be any worse.
  12. What you're saying our lot go passed on the inside - at Monmore. How strange. 🤔
  13. That's fine too, a bit of comedy booing never did any harm especially if the "villain" plays up to it. Whilst I'm not advocating WWE style behaviour a bit of afters or banter all adds to the package imo.
  14. When it's as close as last night it's all ifs buts and maybes. I think the ref swung itbut tbh both sets of fans probably went home happy and you can't say that very often.
  15. I think it should be compulsory for the winner to go round acknowledging the crowd. It's part of the show.
  16. Belle Vue were done and dusted just after 9 on Friday. Even if it's a mundane match it certainly helps if the meeting skips along. It's a pet hate of mine having delays between heats.
  17. Maybe it's being done alphabetically, first Belle Vue then Berwick..... Lol.
  18. I agree with the last bit. We regularly have to put up with some frankly baffling fixture planning that are no way a coincidence. The other thing is when we try to rearrange nobody wants to know.
  19. Indeed, when you use this years averages that give a better indicator of form than rolling averages and not counting Steves over inflated reserve figure then we go into this fixture without our top two with nearly half the rides being covered by reserves. Stitched up again.
  20. Last two visits, 1 point when he had a strop similar to when he scored 4 at Lynn around that time (he had a bollocking for those and he has put a lid on these strops) and 9+1. If you're going to pick one bad performance as being typical then you're wide of the mark. Your thoughts on Max would be appreciated.
  21. Crafty Belle Vue missing a top GP rider in Zagar and the lad many are tipping to be the next U21 World Champion to be replaced by Harris and reserves respectively. We'll be saying riders are injured next when in fact they have ditched us. This happened to us I forget where but it involved Lung and Pedersen.
  22. I'm gobsmacked that the fixture planner arranges a clash between the Solvenian championship and the only team to have a Solvenian in it - 3 times!
  23. Other than Belle Vue and Berwick who else has a formal system of allowing ex team members in for free? Belle Vue also offer discounted admission to those accompanying the ex rider.
