  1. I had a go at the promotion about not taking Tai when he approached us. They said it would have required two changes to the team. They contacted Tai's UK team to inform them of that a conversation had taken place. I member of the management committee informed them it was highly likely Tai's average would be reassessed making a straight swap with Zagar impossible. The Aces were happy to stick with Zagar and were not looking to change but didn't want accusations of back room deals and therefore informed Wolves of the approach.
  2. Problem is with tickets.com the outsourced ticket provider and the issue is only with block D, the posh seats. The Aces management are pushing for a resolution to the problem. I think we should do it ourselves next year and then we can do away with the booking charges tickets.com want.
  3. If Andersen had an 7.55 average Lindback would have been re assessed to 7.50. Equally if Belle Vue wanted to sign Lindback it would have been on his old average of 7.94. It's the inconsistencies that get fans backs up coupled with the fact that Poole always get lucky. Go figure.
  4. Do we really need a rule outlawing the use of brown envelops? Enough has been added or amended in the rule book following Frauds moves in the past, can't he just be sporting and play fair. Cheating scumbag.
  5. Isn't that Dakota Norths dads hand?? Looks familiar.
  6. Seems to make sense. Can you talk us through why Hancock came back in 2013 and used his 8.77 average that was achieved like Lindbacks in 2007?
  7. Just put these clowns on ignore. You see Shovlars posts when quoted but just scroll by. He has nothing of merit to say and no integrity what so ever, chopping and changing his opinions to suit. His comments about Clare Balding were a disgrace but not unexpected given his view of women. He will slip up again no doubt and be off to "Rome" again. It's a shame as after his last "trip" he seemed somehow reformed and his posts were fine but he returned to type and as I say this will see him slip up again. Better dust off that Italian phase book. 😀
  8. Even Hitler didn't damage British speedway to the same extent that Ford has done. If you want to rename the league call it the brown envelope league.
  9. Play offs teams can ride when they want and do not have to fit in with Sky. Anyone who thinks the plays offs are there to suit Sky are living in cloud cuckoo land.
  10. Lock up your daughters! Anyone know where I can buy Hans Andersen wristbands. #prayforhansie Cheating scumbags, back with a bang.
  11. Yes correct. That was the year the bonus point was introduced meaning many late fixtures were worth 3 points. Re Cradley winning by 7, four meetings worth 2 points each is 8. That's why I said up to four meetings. Here are the gaps between the top two teams. 80 3 (2) 81 7 (4) 82 6 (3) 83 7 (4) 84 3 (2) 85 10* (4) 86 6 (2) 87 16 (6) 88 16 (6) 89 6 (2) Hope the facts don't launch Orion into another abusive rant. He don't like facts..
  12. Apart from Coventry in 87 & 88 all the other titles during the 80's were won in the winning teams last 2-4 matches during October. As I thought no factual back up. What a waste of space you are. No backbone.
  13. I just appear clever when chatting with you. You made the statement, now back it up or retract it.
  14. How many teams under either system won the title by July or even with 2 or 3 meetings left for that matter? Look it up then forget to respond as the facts would prove you wrong - again. I'd respond to the first paragraph but I don't understand it.
  15. Why do we get these threads every year? QED. Years ago there use to be endless debates in all the speedway press and on the terraces about the old league format and when will play offs be introduced. 😄 The only people the play offs seem to pee off are the traditionalist anorak wearers with their painted boards and shiny badges. Their use to be thousands of them ever week back in the day. Who needs 'em.
  16. Phew! Get out of jail free card used there. If it was any other team I think we'd have lost after an off night like that. Bad day at the office, it happens. Sure enough Tungate proved an exceptional guest and coupled with Zagars testing nightmare it saw a 18-20 point swing to give a rather non representative score line against poor travellers Poole - Holder apart, what a masterclass and terrific to watch. Great racing again with Joe's rider being the standout. It only serves to remind us though that that won't happen if we ride down a Wimbourne Rd during the play offs. Gate and go just doesn't suit us but it's my opinion that it doesn't suit most fans. Chuffed we finished top of the league, especially in out first year at the very special NSS, a sign of things to come? Oh, on the crowd, it was around 1500 which is the highest attendance for a Sky match this year where standard pricing has been stuck to.
  17. Forgot to mention. I'm pretty sure clubs get £10k when a meeting is televised. Belle Vue now have the biggest seasonal speedway attendance in the UK. Legal matters are ongoing as the track/stadium was not delivered fit for purpose. Belle Vue have reimbursed customers following the contractors debacle that led to the Craven abandonment. This has severely impacted the budgeted figures for marketing and other administration issues the academy being one of them. Hopefully when matters are resolved Belle Vue will, with the backing of speedway fans nationwide, continue to move forward.
  18. You can check standing pre sales just keep click left. The capacity is wrong due to the current temporary stands and this is why blocks are booked out. There around 150 season tickets sold. Any rent we owe the council is up to date as are riders wages. Should be good tonight. I'm hoping we can seek it but Poole are in the box seat with the relative team chsmges.
  19. Yep. Same old same old. Utter trolling nonsense. How Fred falls for it is beyond me. Back in your box.
  20. Against my better judgement I'll indulge your trolling after seeing your post quoted within another post. In the thread " So who will win the EL in 2016" the usual row had broke out with Fred saying play offs had a detrimental effect on crowd numbers. armieg posted, The question was raised about crowds in Sweden and the effect of play-offs. Heres the data for the Elitserien....... You replied to this with Thanks for that Arnieg. Pretty much blows Fred's argument out of the water. You followed it up with, Attendances will always fluctuate from year to year, the simple facts remain, the crowds for regular league meetings are far higher in Sweden since the playoffs than in the time preceding it. You wanted facts, Arnieg has provided them. This does not tally with your reply to my post.
  21. The crowd figures increased in Sweden due to the play offs. Therefore The crowd figures decreased in Britain due to the play offs. If you cannot apply the facts of a debate consistently then you are being selective and biased.
  22. I fell asleep watching that earlier. Bloody awful speedway as always. Sort it out! The sleep comment was not a joke.
  23. Missing our best rider in Max and the Captain Scott makes us considerably weaker. We had 7.50 to fill Max's spot but we've remained loyal to our assets and gone with Patrick on his low 6.30 average. That would normally put him a reserve for us using current green sheets. Having to use mainly reserves to cover Scott only increases the pressure. The final nail in our coffin is Mr Paid Seventeen Tungate, an astute horses for courses pick from Ford. Poole by 7, unfortunately. Just thought is Partrick in place of Max as his average is so low he could replace Scott and we could run R/R for Max with everyone taking a ride? Might save our bacon.
