  1. The BSPA gaining control of the NSS was a major coup.
  2. I hope your builders are better than those that are building the NSS as its still not finished. We had to put temporary stands and porta loos in to help the situation. It caused havoc at the SWC and people had to pee up against fences. It's like getting a council house then being told the bathroom is in a marquee in the back garden. A mate of mine refused to pay his rent as his kitchen wasn't finished or usable. He was told legally that paying the rent would signify his acceptance of the condition of the property which could have seen remedial work postponed. Things to bear in mind with your build.
  3. Actually if they have two double headers like the other year and only race 15 nights then it's over £23000 in rent per night. With the fact that's it's probably the wettest city in the world that is very likely. This is very concerning.
  4. No idea. 60 years was ok but 24 is not. Manchester Evening News 09/04/2014 "The council will borrow most of the extra cash itself, to be repaid by tenants Belle Vue Aces over the next 24 years. They will pay the maximum possible rent over that period in order to minimise the councils risks, says the report". It's obviously now 23 years with nothing paid off the 8 mill. If they run only 17 meetings that's £20460 per meeting. I'm guessing admission will come down to £15 then take off the VAT to give £12. You need over 1700 on the terraces just to cover that.
  5. Indeed. £8million to pay back over 23 (clock's ticking) years with 20 matches per year as I'm guessing they'll make the play offs and progress through the cup. If it's only over 17 matches it's even worse and I've not allowed for Prudential Borrowings interest charges.
  6. Holder Wilkinson Robson Risager Osterguaard Branford Boxhall If Skornicki comes back to the UK they'll probably slot him in somewhere.
  7. It'll be a right hotch porch of unwanted journeymen lining up for the BSPAces next year. Very appetising. Save us over £1600 next year so every cloud and that. They're going to need every penny they can get with what works out at nearly £17'000 rent per meeting. I thought the dog track was dear at £5000. Ouch!
  8. I think Cook (6), Zagar (4) and Nicholls (3) will be in high demand as they are not bothered about being paid as they kept signing for Belle Vue. Well according to the in the know types on here.
  9. Thats Coventry, Cradley, Exeter, Halifax etc sorted then. Well done that man. A bet there's still people on here thinking you're talking out of your backside again but who would waste bandwidth posting what you wrote? A troll?
  10. If it's not Belle Vie people that take over then that's me done. If I thought the new lot had anything to do with what's gone on this past week or two then I wouldn't have anything to do with them.
  11. I didn't anticipate that they would stick with PL averages and recalculate some heat leaders (1.4) up as this sees them average over 12?? It won't benifit the Aces as the powers that be won't sanction new promoters until other deals are done. We'll end up like 2007 with Steady as our number one. Same s*^% different day.
  12. It all reminds me of the children's story, The Little Red Hen. Only thing is in this version the hen gets its neck rung before enjoying the bread.
  13. Fortnightly speedway with the cut off in mind would allow for 13 matches. If you factor in rain offs then it would come down to 10 or 11. Is that a viable amount?
  14. There are 10 weeks worth of school holidays during the speedway season so running midweek shouldn't be an issue. Parents could even allow a treat of a late night once or twice for the matches run on school nights. Only trouble is the fixture planners haven't got a clue.
  15. He is without doubt an excellent accountant. During his last stint with the Aces we sold our number one for a tidy sum then after one season we paid a paltry loan fee to have him back before he retired. I think the club that bought him hold the record for the most paid for a rider for one season. Great days.
  16. I think they tried a couple of times to ride it but the weather intervened. The KO Cup was ridden on a frozen track that made broadsiding very tricky, in November if I remember correctly. I think it's a problem when fixtures are referred to as meaningful as it stands to reason that others aren't meaningful. I don't remember talk like this pre play offs as every fixture was there to be won to hopefully move you up the table.
  17. Probably right unfortunately. Go Buster. 😡
  18. At last someone in the know. Let's stick some meat on the bones of these rumours. Thanks in advance.
  19. There has always been loopholes in the rule book it's just years ago all the competitors participated with a sporting sense of fair play and realised they were just different departments in the greater company that was British speedway. Any smart arse in possession of low morals could take advantage of these happy souls who had previously been aware of the loop holes but thought nobody would behave in an unsporting way, would they. Then along came self confessed cheat Matt Ford and the rest is (a sorry) history.
  20. The fact EDRs could move into the top five for the first time has messed things up a bit. The Worralls have also highlighted a problem. Steve EDR rode most of the year in the top five whilst Richie non EDR rode at reserve. It's messed things up so the thinking now is all PL or none PL for team building with the former being preferred due to the leg up it gives the Brits.
  21. Looks like using PL averages is the way it's going. I'm obviously happy with it and the way it helps the Brits (yes, there are a few Aussies du/edr and even fewer from other nations). Cook coming in below 6, well I'd take it all day long. Back the Brits. Good times.
