There has been several clubs enjoy successful periods over the last 90 years or so with many having insults thrown their way. Arrogant is a regular one but until Ford came along I have never heard of promoters/managers continually referred to as cheats. There is a reason for that. I branded him the "self confessed cheat" after he admitted to it in The Star 13 years ago when he had won very little so my motivation to do so wasn't based on his incredible success.

Rye House V Belle Vue 16/08/2017

Heat 10 did it for The Aces. Let's get the bad luck out of the way before the play offs, lol. -
Batchelor withdrew on medical advice. Whatever happened to him?
-
I would imagine Jim will be let go after that. He's a nice bloke but speedway management really isn't his thing.

Jason Crump comes from Bristol - you can't get any more REAL BRITISH than that. Mark Loram comes from Malta - you can't get any more REAL BRITISH than that.

When you see how childish and vindictive Chapman can be you have to wonder if this behaviour is the reason these big company sponsors haven't come off. They've been within grasping distance for months now according to the chairman but still nothing to show. If they ask for something that doesn't suit him then I can see his bullish attitude coming out again. All a bit grim really and I don't envy the next chairman who has to try and sort out all Busters cock ups and dodgy deals.

I don't know how you get to £500 in lost revenue due to guest fests at Belle Vue. We've had two guests for Kenneth but that was due to the fact we signed him late on. IMO the two matches he missed are outweighed by his contributions in his other meetings. The only other one was Heeps in for the injured Tungate. We have had some meetings with R/R but those heats were filled with Aces not guests.

Dangerous Machines Or Dangerous Tracks.
ouch replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I had the exact same thought the other day. Tracks have been the same for decades apart from the addition of the air fence yet riders fanny about with bikes then want the track changing? I'm awaiting the day footballers ask for a shorter pitch as running the full length is too knackering. -
"Aussie international Troy Batchelor was also sacked by Kings Lynn after he withdrew from the Poole meeting due to injury." This quote from the recent press release is the sickest speedway related comment I've ever read.

Is This Swindon Team The Best Of Recent Times?
ouch replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Currently Belle Vue are the biggest club in U.K. Speedway and historically Belle Vue were the biggest club in U.K. Speedway. Granted other clubs come and go which I think is a good thing. -
Belle Vue supporters were up in arm when Wolves signed a ringer for the play offs. I know some fans support the move but it's not for me. Belle Vue supporters were up in arms when Poole signed a better replacement for a rider who it was falsely claimed had a season ending injury. I know some fans support the move but it's not for me. Belle Vue fans are up in arms as they cannot sign a replacement for a young rider who has broken his neck. I know some fans support the move but it's not for me.

23/8/17. I'll be there. Three meetings in five days. Love it.

I think the explanation by Danny was a joke and rather a good one I thought.

Which makes Drurys reported claims as to why he wouldn't switch the date for the Bewley/Smith-less Colts clash seem odd. It's not odd BTW it's just another speedway promoter being a dick with a win at all costs mentality.

A real shame for Max especially coming just after he sorted his set ups for the NSS which bagged him a max. Get well soon mate. BSPA must be chuffed after reverting back to rules that when last in place cost us the cup when Kenneth was injured and now sees our hopes scuppered once again. There'll be no special dispensation happening here I'm afraid as we're not in their little club so r/r see effectively a 6 pointer replacing him over the four heats. Roll on next year.
-
Looks like it's off for good then as you previously stated there are no open dates left. Shame as I would have come along to this clash. See you next year.

Dropping Holder and Batchelor from the team is fine and perfectly with KLs right to do so. Holder was rightly banned for 28 days for his part in the Poole match fiasco. Dropping the riders when he did so shows Buster to be vindictive and petty minded. We experienced this at Belle Vue with our call off and during the uncertain winter. I man like that should not be in charge of UK speedway nor even his own track, that should be dealt with by others. He needs to go asap.
-
We never turned him away. He approached us. We informed his promoter about the discussions. Management committee informed us he would come in on an 8. We couldn't accommodate him. He signed for Wolves on a 7.

Jack belongs to you. http://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/sport/glasgow-tigers-sign-jack-smith-12234620.amp It was whilst all the closed season BS went on at Belle Vue.

If that's the case then why did CVS waste 10 days trying to sort it?
