  1. Should be a good meeting with the Lions definitely in the mix. Pleased MTP is riding as he's one of my favourites. Never say die attitude and very entertaining. Hope they get a point but no more than that.
  2. Some tracks seem to think that two Brits per team is the maximum not minimum.
  3. I thought it was a stock car track that ran speedway as a side line. Until you get an owner that puts speedway first again then nothing will change. There's just not the interest in speedway, it's more about the money and not just 10% either.
  4. I've said for years now that any rider in my team that gets passed, up the inside, by the opposition, at Monmore, will be fined. It is irrelevant what my home track is, if I've been dissatisfied by the racing on offer I say so whether it's my track or any other. Having said that I've kind of given up as it changed nowt and if the home fans are happy then fine. Wolves for me is about a 20mins longer journey time than Belle Vue, in years gone by I would go when the Aces are there, for open meetings and when the fancied team or world champ are in town. I don't visit Wolves or any other top league track anymore so now see about a third of the meetings I use to attend. Pleased The Aces got a point as that's the game plan. Win at home pick up a point at all away meetings then plan for the playoffs. 56 points should get you in the top half of the table.
  5. That's a bit Rich. Probably a smoke Screen.
  6. Poole very lucky again. Too much from the gate looking at the updates and that's manner from heaven for the pirates. Doyle will have trimmed 3-4 points off his average by the time they come out.
  7. Leicester had a facility granted to cover for Riss That decision was confirmed by the SCB in the morning of the meeting and was still valid.
  8. If it had been another team attempting to use Morris or any other rider in similar circumstances, this thread would have been 30+ pages already. With the league being far more 'even' this year, the final playoff places may well rely on racepoints difference, so I hope Morris's scores from Friday are expunged!!
  9. "If any breaking of the rules occur and the officials don't notice, then it's not cheating". Copywrite Poole fan October 2015. Nothing to see here move on. This was the battle of the gate and goers due to their respective tracks. Poole are better at it since they hone their skills at Wimborne Road.
  10. I'm not missing speedway at the NSS. I'd happily boycott away matches next month.
  11. Another superb meeting from the NSS. I feared the worst when Poole weren't gating as they're not exactly know for their passing prowess with their gate and go home circuit but thankfully they got their gating boots back on which led to some tremendous speedway as the Aces came through. I expected more than 21 from Max, Steve, Justin and Jack but when more than half your team is searching for set ups you need the other members to step up and they did with young Dan putting in a stunning debut, yes debut! Can't wait to see him once he get dialled in to his home circuit. Only gripe was me old Mar missed seeing the lads celebrating on their victory lap as she's not as nimble as she was and couldn't keep jumping to her feet as those around her did. The standing ovations, hand claps and cheering certainly creates a great atmosphere in the busy main stand, I'll just have to get her a stannah seat to life her up with all the rest of the revellers. Bring on Good Friday.
  12. I hate unnecessarily delayed or drawn out meetings. I kind of got use to it but then I went to the Shane Parker farewell at Sheffield and actually noticed how quick and we'll run it was. I spoke with The Aces promotion and whether they listened to me or not meetings are run very well at Belle Vue time wise. I don't mind a delay if there's been a crash, the lads can take as long as they need but just waiting around without any explanation does my head in. It's a little thing that goes a long way and doesn't cost them anything. The other thing with early finishes now at the NSS is you can stay for the MDL or rider press conference and still get home at a reasonable time.
  13. Really pleased with The Aces tonight, a solid show that could even afford young Jack a blob. Nice touch by KB in the last, these new guys in charge already know how a lead in a cup tie can effect the attendance but now we have to make up a deficit we should see a few extra on the gate. Very clever. I think some Poole fans on here need to have a word with the updates crew as it seems, as is mostly the case that it was gate and go when, as I always forcefully get told on here that it isn't like that. Painting the wrong picture could see potential fans giving it a wide berth if follow my leader races are portrayed as the norm.
  14. As I've been saying for over a decade now it's far too early to be worrying about your team. You got three points, do that for the rest of the year and grab a few bonus points on the road (you don't need to win) and you'll be well in the mix for fourth. Then start to worry about your team and make changes accordingly. We all know how it works - don't we?
  15. The other thing to remember here is that in the rush to get one over Belle Vue it ultimately saw these guys chucked out of the sport. IMO we could do with people who know how to provide a fabulous race track and someone who, lets face it has seen it all when it comes to working with the authorities on a new stadium project. The rudderless ship that is British speedway shooting itself in the foot once again.
  16. Congratulations to KB on a fine display. Coming on the back of his win at Lynn and his unbeaten performance for Coventry he really is putting together some excellent form in these early season meetings. Hope he can carry his form from these meetings over the course of the year.
  17. Cracking ride by pointless Greaves to beat maximum man Klindt who when on a 15m handicap failed to pass him. You cannot take your eyes off this! Lol.
  18. Danny has a point as daft as it sounds. I think it was a Roger Cook programme where someone's new family home fell down leaving the young family homeless. They approached the company that built the houses but they just turned round and said you had a hand in building the house. They didn't but couldn't prove it. As far as I know they are still homeless. I had a some soup in a restaurant on Saturday and complained to the waiter about a fly in my soup. The chef came out of the kitchen accusing me of having helped make the soup saying the broccoli was from Aldi. I collect trollies for Aldi and couldn't disprove my participation in the supply chain. Needless to say I got no refund - again. It sound bonkers but as with Danny's scenario it's all true, honest, it's not silly, at all.
  19. Did the BSPA spend money on ordering engines or is it a case of getting a discount if you mention them when ordering?
  20. Belle Vue are very quick with meetings, 90mins tops with one Colts match last year being run in under an hour. Buster does seem to take an age with meetings but after the U21 farce I thought he'd do everything to prevent this and keep the fans happy. Guess not. Great shame.
  21. The potential silver lining to this is that if the track is redone it can move away from the gate and go nature of recent years. I never watch Wimborne live as you just fast forward after bend three lap one, in fact the last time I watched a live meeting was on the Bet365 service and I felt suicidal. Matt should be like Chris Louis who after seeing racing at NSS wanted to try an emulate it at his track.
  22. You've gotta love shovlar. It's not so much miss reading the room as burning it down and making a diamond encrusted axe that is then used to bludgeon to death orphans and O.A.P's there to raise money for cancer research. He really is the gift that keeps on giving.
