  1. Teams have been calling matches off if they feel under strength for years. I can only remember Belle Vue and Mildenhall being pulled up though the punishments were not the same. As with many things in this sport it's the fluid nature that regulations tend to be applied that rubs people up the wrong way. It all feels a bit made up as they go along with the old pals act coming into play. Get rid of the crooks and we might be able to start moving forward. If we can coaxe some of the good guys back, all the better.
  2. As is often the case with speedway over the last few years, being proved right gives me no pleasure whatsoever.
  3. He's already lined up for Workington, even has a set of kevlars. Possibly 2 pointer for the Aces.
  4. Certainly puts a different spin on the forthcoming KO Cup clash. I think many Aces fans thought it would be a walk in the park.
  5. Apart from Emil and Dany. Agree about BWD, super show last night.
  6. This is typical of how threads can go. Flange might go on a bit but he always starts off discussing the actual topic. He gave his reasons why the Aces lost and have the potential to lose again. Solrac (this time) comes up with two off topic posts, not even trying to mention the match. Fred won't take it lying down and then the usual suspects leap in taking the topic off tangent again, spoiling it for everyone else. STOP IT! Belle Vue were shocking from the gate last night and the track was a bit too gate and go to do anything about it. Opposing teams have taken 11 points in 7 matches whereas they have only taken 9 from 9 away. Though it offers no home advantage whatsoever I still wouldn't change it for the world.
  7. Oh and if you don't turn up it's your fault if it closes.
  8. Preemptive "Sour Grapes" then as the photo was taken 5mins before start time. There's not many Aces fans upset about last night what with getting another point. Looking forward to tonight where I'm hoping our poor gating won't be our downfall again.
  9. The only ray of sunshine in all this the expected quick response from Buster. He doesn't let the grass grow when there is an issue like last night or this one last year. BSPA Chairman Keith Chapman said: This is a massive setback to the sport in this country and it can have a negative impact on every other club throughout the UK. It wasnt even a BSPA event, it was down to the Belle Vue promotion to ensure the meeting went ahead under the supervision of the SCB referee and failed. It is the promoters responsibility and not the BSPA as an association to ensure a domestic fixture which is what this was goes ahead. Its an embarrassment and the rest of the sport in this country could be hit by it. A thorough investigation has already started. The SCB issued the track licence in accordance with the rulebook the fact that the track was unfit was down to Belle Vue as a club. Said Chapman: Its such a sorry episode but we have to move on and hopefully lessons will be learnt. From a BSPA and SCB perspective, we feel the need to offer our apologies to the many supporters who travelled to Manchester at great expense, but we must emphasise this was a Belle Vue Speedway event.
  10. Hmmmm Over have the riders don't want to ride a track they deem unsafe due to soft patches. Does the staging promotion listen to the riders and considering their safety call it off or do they muddle through in front of a highly dissatisfied crowd, one or more of whom had to deal with an angry rider in their face. Enquiry? It is utterly amazing to me that you have a forward thinking promotional team who had done more than any other in decades to improve the customer experience, with many more things in the pipeline, who get jettisoned in a plot instigated by a self serving idiot who couldn't run a pee up in a brewery. The fact his power was handed to him by the rest of the numpties does lead me to believe this sport is doomed. I just need to block all this out and live in my happy little Belle Vue bubble.
  11. The problem is unless you say it was a great meeting on a super track you're in for a kicking. I use to fall for it but I still know when a thread has been hijacked by them again as post after post reads "This post is hidden because......" I realised they'd never change so I just ignore them as the mods do nothing.
  12. Management committee have to ok it which in the case of Wolves was a given.
  13. People like Rossiter and Orion can wind their neck in when it come to situations like this. If a rider ain't fit he ain't fit. Just get fit Jason, I'll be giving you a cheer at Cardiff. This made my blood boil a couple of years back. I think its a con. Theres nothing wrong with Zagar, he rode OK on Saturday, said Rossiter. Theres nothing you can do and they will give a bona fide certificate and bring people in. Zagar can be fantastic but he is very hit and miss. I think its wrong, Zagar looked alright to me in the Grand Prix. It was the same as when we went to Kings Lynn, their riders were riding the next day. It shouldnt be allowed to be done. Theres too many teams doing it now, moving stuff around to suit themselves.
  14. When MCC complete Belle Vue as promised and with the addition of temporary stands on the bottom bends, the capacity is the same as Prague and just short of a few others.
  15. The powers that be know how much their customer base like playing team manager so you'd think they would just take a couple of minutes to detail how things are worked out. The fact they don't makes it easier to manipulate rider figures depending on who's asking which I think is wrong. It happened last year and I'm sure it will happen again.
  16. Are you Simon Barber? Hayley will be doing it.
  17. It's voted on by referees and it's things like fence, track equipment etc that act as the criteria. The quality or not of the racing doesn't come into it.
  18. Best meeting from Monmore by a country mile with 2 or 3 very good races. I'm glad Wolves fans watch their speedway there.
  19. Good signing that. Richie outperformed Brady in the PL last year and would have continued to do so if the Aces fiasco had resulted in him not getting a top league place. Even giving the rest of the league a head start, he'll still bang the big scores in. Looking forward to your next visit even if Richie will probably turn a draw into a win.
  20. All good opinions, that's what this forum is all about but all the opinions in the world still won't alter the fact that Great Britain are fourth in the world. Chuffed that two Aces helped get them there.
  21. If he does the same for bends 1,2 & 3 I think he'll win. Go Robbo!
  22. As does this...... Poland Sweden Russia Great Britain Australia Latvia USA Denmark Czech Republic France Germany Italy
  23. Well I'm glad the FIM decided to run the SWC instead of listening to these "in the know" as it takes away opinions and leaves us with the indisputable fact that the top country is Poland then Sweden then Russia, leaving in fourth place Great Britain. Nice.
  24. Tedious is being wet and cold, standing in the doggy do with a rolled up red flag in my hand at Kirky Lane whilst a young Tai takes to the track before and during his stint with the Colts. Would his attitude stop me? No way, if I packed it in then he's won. I just think life shouldn't be about chasing the dollar to the detriment of those around you. Anyway, up the Lions!
